Short Term and Break Housing
There are periods in the school year where FIT housing closes to all students. Below is a table of the different break periods for FIT.
| Spring Recess April 14 to April 20, 2025 |
Residential Halls remain open with no additional charge to students. Dining Halls are closed. |
| Summer Recess May 20 to August 2, 2025 |
Residence Halls are open on a modified operation. See FIT Student Summer Housing for information on how to apply. Additional costs occur and no dining is available. |
| Summer Break August 3 to Approved Fall Move In |
Residential Halls are closed. Students must find alternative housing during this time. |
| Thanksgiving Recess November 28 to December 1, 2024 |
Residential Halls remain open with no additional charge to students. Dining Halls are closed. |
| Winter Break December 21, 2024 to January 1, 2025 |
Residential Halls are closed. Students must find alternative housing during this time. |
| Winter Recess January 1, 2025 to January 26, 2025 |

Winter Recess Housing
Students enrolled for Fall and Spring semesters may also apply for housing during the winter recess from January until their Spring move in date. There is no minimum credit limit to live on campus during winter housing. Students can check the application dates and apply via their myHousing Portal .
