Schools With Transfer Agreements
Fabric Styling
Graduates of Bergen's Fashion Apparel Design AAS program may apply to FIT's BFA program in Fabric Styling. If admitted, students are accepted as juniors (fifth semester) and may complete the baccalaureate degree requirements in a minimum of two years. (approved May 23, 2018)
Technical Design
Graduates of Bergen's Fashion Apparel Design AAS program may apply to FIT's BS program in Technical Design. If admitted, students will be accepted as juniors (fifth semester) and may complete the baccalaureate degree requirements in a minimum of two years.
Before enrolling in the Technical Design program, Bergen graduates must complete one 3-credit course designated to fulfill the SUNY General Education requirement for science and one 3-credit course from any of the following General Education categories: social science, Western Civilization, other world civilizations, the arts, humanities, or foreign language. (approved from January 9, 2019 - June 1, 2020)
Students enrolled in a BFA program at Donghua University in Shanghai, China, may apply to a one-year visiting student program at FIT.
If accepted, students will spend their junior year at FIT to earn an AAS degree from one of the following degree programs: Accessories Design, Advertising and Marketing Communications, Communications Design, Fashion Business Management, Textile Development and Marketing, or Textile/Surface Design. (approved 2014 - 2019)
Fashion Design
As a part of a SUNY system-wide collaboration, the Higher Education Council, the Republic of Turkey, Istanbul Technical University (ITU), and FIT agree to offer a collaborative dual-diploma BFA program in Fashion Design.
Students accepted into this program spend their time as follows:
- semesters one through three at ITU
- fourth semester and required summer courses at FIT
- fifth and sixth semesters at ITU
- seventh and eighth semesters at FIT
Upon successful completion of the program, students earn baccalaureate degrees from both FIT and ITU. (approved on May 20, 2015)
Textile Development and Marketing

If admitted, students will be accepted as juniors (fifth semester) and may complete the baccalaureate degree requirements in a minimum of two years. (approved June 4, 2019)
Fashion Merchandising
The articulation agreement enables graduates from Miami Dade's Fashion Merchandising AS program to apply to FIT's BS program in International Trade and Marketing. If admitted, students will be accepted as juniors (fifth semester) and may complete the baccalaureate degree requirements in a minimum of two years. (approved June 4, 2019)
Students enrolled in a BFA program at NIFT in New Delhi, India, may apply to a one-year visiting student program at FIT. If accepted, students will spend their junior year at FIT to earn an AAS degree from one of the following degree programs: Accessories Design, Advertising & Marketing Communications, Communications Design, Fashion Business Management, Textile Development and Marketing, or Textile/Surface Design. (approved for 2016 - 2021)
The articulation enables graduates from Raritan's AFA program in Visual Communication to apply to FIT's BFA program in Toy Design. All applicants are required to submit a portfolio, meet with the department for an interview, take a drawing test, and complete a take-home exam. If admitted, students will be accepted as juniors (fifth semester) and may complete the baccalaureate degree requirements in a minimum of two years. (approved March 5, 2019)
The articulation agreement enables graduates from Broome's Visual Communication Arts AS program to apply to FIT's BFA program in Fine Arts. If admitted, students will be accepted as juniors (fifth semester) and may complete the baccalaureate degree requirements in a minimum of two years. (approved September 23, 2013)
Home Products Development
The articulation agreement enables graduates from GCC's Fashion Business AAS program to apply to FIT's BS program in Home Products Development. If admitted, students will be accepted as juniors (fifth semester) and may complete the baccalaureate degree requirements in a minimum of two years. (approved November 26, 2018)
Textile Development and Marketing
The articulation agreement enables graduates from GCC's Fashion Business AAS program to apply to FIT's bachelor degree program in Textile Development and Marketing. If admitted, students will be accepted as juniors (fifth semester) and may complete the baccalaureate degree requirements in a minimum of two years. (approved on November 26, 2018)
This articulation agreement enables graduates from Herkimer's AAS program in Business Fashion Buying and Merchandising (who maintain a GPA of 3.0) to apply to the following FIT bachelor's degree programs: Direct and Interactive Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Home Products Development, International Trade and Marketing, Production Management. If admitted, students will be accepted as juniors (fifth semester) and may complete the baccalaureate degree requirements in a minimum of two years. (approved on April 19, 2016)
The articulation agreement enables graduates from Nassau's AAS program in Fashion Design to apply to the BS program in Technical Design at FIT. If admitted, students will be accepted as juniors (fifth semester) and may complete the bachelor's degree in a minimum of two years. (approved January 11, 2016)
The articulation agreement enables graduates from Suffolk's AAS program in Photographic Imaging to apply to the BFA program in Photography at FIT. If admitted, students will be accepted as juniors (fifth semester) and may complete the baccalaureate degree requirements in a minimum of two years. (approved June 13, 2017)
The articulation agreement enables graduates of Ulster's AS program in Fashion Design to apply to FIT's BS degree program in Technical Design. If admitted, students will be accepted as juniors (fifth semester) and may complete the Bachelor's degree in a minimum of two years. (approved for May 2019 - June 2023)
Direct and Interactive Marketing
The articulation agreement enables graduates from Westchester Community College's AAS program in Marketing to apply to the BS degree program in Direct and Interactive Marketing at FIT. If admitted, students will be accepted as juniors (fifth semester) and may complete the Bachelor's degree in a minimum of two years. (approved October 13, 2014)
Textile Development and Marketing
The articulation agreement enables graduates from Westchester Community College's AAS program in Fashion Merchandising to apply to the BS program in Textile Development and Marketing at FIT. If admitted, students will be accepted as juniors (fifth semester) and may complete the Bachelor's degree in a minimum of two years. (approved on April 2, 2014)
Students enrolled in the bachelor's degree programs in Garment Design and Engineering and Artistic Design at Zhejiang Sci-Tech University (ZSTU) in Hangzhou, China, may apply to a one-year visiting student program at FIT. If accepted, students will spend their junior year at FIT to earn an AAS degree from one of the following degree programs: Accessories Design, Advertising and Marketing Communications, Communications Design, Fashion Business Management, Textile Development and Marketing, or Textile/Surface Design. (approved for 2017 - 2021)
