MTV fans lose it over Macy Gray's VERY candid on-air confession about drugs and alcohol on The Surreal Life

Macy Gray has left The Surreal Life viewers in hysterics after brazenly declaring that 'cocaine and a couple of shots' is what she relies on to boost her wellbeing.

The 56-year-old casually dropped the bombshell during Wednesday's premiere episode of the MTV reality show's new season after learning she and her fellow celebrities would be headed to a breathwork class in the Colombian mountains.

Unenthused by the group trip, which involved 'consciously over-breathing,' Macy declared that she was not a fan of 'hippy sh**' and would prefer to unwind by taking drugs.

Speaking in her confessional, she said: 'Oh God! I just don't do the hippy sh**.

'I live in LA, that's hippy kingdom, but for healing that's not how I do it.'

The Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets airs Tuesday nights on MTV at 9 p.m. ET.

The new season follows eight celebrities living together in a large villa in Columbia.

During their stay, the TV stars are pushed out of their comfort zones and participate in different missions where secrets about each contestant will be revealed.

Besides Macy, the cast also stars Chet Hanks, Ally Brooke, O.T. Genasis, Kim Zolciak, Josie Canseco, Johnny Weir, and Tyler Posey.

This isn't the first time Macy has shocked audiences on national television.

Earlier this month, Macy left the cast of Australia's news affairs program The Project stunned when she started swearing during an impromptu performance.

The hitmaker was being interviewed backstage in Hobart ahead of her first show on her current Australian tour when she dropped the F-bomb twice.

As the segment drew to a close Macy put a plug in for her new tune I Am, which features explicit lyrics.

'Can I use curse words?' she asked host Waleed Aly, before she launched into the song.

After The Project host gave her the go-ahead, Macy sang, 'I am who I am f*** you, I don't give a damn too f*** you.'

'I think we all felt that,' a shocked Aly said following the performance, before co-host Sarah Harris collapsed into laughter.

'I did ask permission,' Macy hit back.

'Yes, you were very polite about dropping the F-bomb, Macy,' Aly replied.
