With CBP having one of the largest law enforcement cultures in the world, it is important that we make wellness a priority and put resources in place to promote it. The uniqueness and criticality of our mission make it essential to have programs geared toward the growth and development of our employees.
CBP offers its employees Resilience Skills Training, a performance-based, instructor-led program designed to increase the productivity of CBP employees with a comprehensive approach to individual wellness.
Resilience is the ability to withstand, recover and/or grow in the face of stressors and changing demands. The science of resilience tells us that resilient individuals have stronger performance and better health. Using foundational, scientific-based principles of positive psychology, Resilience Skills Training builds individualized skill-sets, which allow employees to thrive in both their professional and personal lives when confronted with obstacles and stressors.
How Can I Develop Resiliency?
- Learn to manage stress with good techniques and habits, such as regular exercise, sleep, self-awareness, and self-confidence.
- Ask for help. Seeking assistance is a sign of strength. Start a conversation with someone you trust or use CBP's Peer Support program or Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
- Take advantage of CBP’s resiliency programs including the Resilience Skills Training.
Resiliency impacts our total well-being and affects our ability to live fully engaged and fulfilled lives. CBP’s goal is to strengthen and support our employees, so they can be the most impactful wherever they are and support employees and their families as they strive to maintain a positive work-life balance.
