It was warm and had a kitchen that was perfectly adequate to cook a meal. The bathroom was modern with a generously sized shower. There were two bathrobes as well as towels. It was quiet and with parking right outside. The house is up the hill from the harbour and it was a bit cold (snow everywhere) to walk to the hot pools on the shore so we took the car, but I would estimate a 10 min walk in summer.

Such a beautiful guesthouse in the small town of Stykkisholmur. You get everything you want in this Guesthouse, the bed is comfortable and everything was totally clean. For breakfast you can get coffee, tea or milk. It was such a nice experience to met Monika.

Located 6 km from Stykkishólmur, Helgafell provides a garden and free WiFi. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. Check-in process wasn't done by the owner, but (probably) her dog. It showed us around the property, which is lovely (so is the dog!). I learned about Helgafell and the Saga related a bit before our arrival by reading about Gudrunarlaug, and when I saw that we would be staying literally at THE Helgafell I was super happy. I really felt connected to the tales (which I absolutely love). Other than that, the place is super nice, modern and cozy. Near the main city and close enough to all main attractions on the peninsula. I recommend!
