Ever since a problem was encountered on Apollo 13, Houston has been an international household name. The 4th largest US city, it is home to NASA’s Johnson Space Center where Mission Control is located. Of course, this is not its only claim to fame. This is Texas after all, where everything is big.
Houston’s Reliant Astrodome was the world’s first indoor sports stadium under a domed roof, and the Galleria is the largest mall in Texas. The city’s Livestock Show and Rodeo is the largest in the world, and the JP Morgan Chase Tower is the planet’s tallest 5-sided building. The list goes on.
Amid the skyscrapers of the thriving CBD is the Toyota Center, home of the city’s NBA and AHL teams. The theatre district is also in the downtown area, whereas the museum district is concentrated to the north-east of Hermann Park, home of a boating lake, nature reserve and miniature railway. Also here is Houston Zoo, and just west is Rice University, one of several in the city.
The bohemian Rice Village is popular with students, as are the city’s historic pubs and leafy parks. Houston also has no shortage of restaurants or accommodation options. Those on Booking.com include motels, apartments and hotels near George Bush Airport.

For several 100 miles around, Houston provides great concerts and museums, making it a draw from even neighboring states. MFAH has an excellent collection and great special exhibits such as the current "Gods within us," which is a must-see and should be advertised more extensively.

I wanted to see the tunnels underground the connection from one place to another as the climate is hot above. I did not have time to eat the delicious food that people talk about but probably next visit. I did a downtown bus tour but would like to do the Space Centre bus tour and NASA tram tour next. Only thing though I had to hire someone to take me there which was a bit expensive.

I enjoyed the fact that the hotel was only 2 1/2 miles from my event, I enjoyed the fact that I was in walking distance of restaurants and stores less than a mile. The people were nice I would suggest that if you have any place to go getting early start traffic does get backed up, so get a head start at least 45 minutes before your event so that you can be on time.

The hotel is about 15 min from airport. We did have to take an Uber. The AIRPORT DID NOT have signs too tell us where to go to get an Uber ride. They only have a certain terminal to go to. I had to miss my first Uber because we got directions to wrong terminal , and Uber billed me for that. Once you go to the correct terminal. They did have signs , but nowhere else. Kinda made the trip not so good -THE HOTEL DIDNT HAVE shuttle service running late , which I didn’t know at the time. So it was bad start. The room was nice tho

Majority people there are friendly, helpful and down to earth. Only met 5 unfriendly people. Public transportation though cheap, must improve. Download the Q ticketing app and pay $3 for whole day travel. The timing, route etc. must improve. Buses are not regular and stop at certain time. If one bus is late we miss the next bus and have to wait like an hour or must take Uber. Few times bus never come at stated times in google maps. Rest of the time punctual. Uber and Lyft too expensive. If you dont drive costs of transportation in Uber and Lyft is bad. Got homesick and did not have much appetite to eat. Houston doesn't have a tourist draw to me. Everything is so car centric that there's limited places to meet and commune with people. The traffic patterns can be confusing for east coast drivers and there isn't much you can do without a car. The food was very disappointing.AntoniaUnited States of America
