We had dinner at the Ristorante Posta on the Piazza Dante...
We had dinner at the Ristorante Posta on the Piazza Dante Alighieri 5 just around the corner from the hotel. It was excellent. We took the little tourist train around the town and visited the three Boromeo Islands. On Sunday we took the ship to Intra which is a lovely town with many shops (unfortunately, mostly closed on Sundays, but we knew that.) On Mondays there is the market along the lake just next to the hotel.

Lovely little town, but it is small, at least the touristy front part is. Plenty of choice to eat in scenic locations. Stunning views across the lake, with a boat terminal and a little scenic "train" that leaves from the "harbour". Baveno is lovely and the boats leave often to the beautiful islands which are all just breathtaking! We especially loved Stresa for eating out in the evenings great restaurants and vibe people are all so lovely and friendly.

Beautiful views. Lovely town- friendly people. Easier to get around if you have your own car- a little too far to walk all the time, and some part of the walk into Stresa is on a busy road with no walkway. Taxis are a little difficult to come by and range from 11 to 20 euro.

The location of Baveno was good for exploring the lake and local area. Plenty to see and the boat trip to the Borromeo islands was well worth it. Local restaurants were good providing local dishes. Good for those who like walking with plenty of interesting places to visit. We travelled by car but there are local buses.SallyUnited Kingdom

All communications, as well as check-in and check-out, are managed by a local Hotel not far from the appartment. The owner was flexible and accommodated us with an two hour early check-in. The apartment is just a 5-minute walk from local restaurants, coffee shops, the public beach, and a private Lido. The supermarket next to the apartment is very convenient for buying groceries and fresh food if you prefer to cook at home.
