It’s ancient, it’s bustling, there are hawkers near the tourist spots, the traffic is busy and pedestrian crossings work differently. This was our second visit; it won’t be our last. Find that little coffee shop that has only locals in it - we did and they happily put up with the tourists who didn’t really know what was happening, but still served us with massive smiles and excellent coffee and pastries. (Caffe Miani) or the restaurant (That’s Amore) that will do the same and the snack stop (Ciano). Be brave take the plunge into the place with no pictures in the menu, no one outside and an English version of the menu that might make you smirk (Sandwitchs). You will love the place; where else can you go where there are so many places that are ancient and monumental and just there. Even the Trevi Fountain being without water is still impressive in it’s beauty, the Colosseum is stunning, then the Forum and Palatine hills (walk wear all those ancient Romans you read about walked) and don’t forget the Argentina Cat Sanctuary where Julius Caesar was killed (it wasn’t a cat sanctuary then of course.
We have been twice we will go again.

It's call the eternal city for a reason, I love the mix between it's chaos and hoe beautiful she is... too much turists, yes, is it worth it, evrytime, you just have to play it smart and go first thing when the places open, and always make reservations and plans to see the big attractions... PLAN AHEAD and start the day with the most overcrowded stuff, coliseo 1 day, Vatican another day...

Rome is lovely place to visit. However don't underestimate how much you'll walk. The sights are amazing and the €18 ticket to the Colosseum is a must, as it also includes the palatine hill and the forum which are amazing things to see.

I think some dishes are overrated but in general we ate like emperors! Rome the eternal city is probably one of the most amazing places a person can visit. We stayed near the Pantheon and walked everywhere. I travelled with my 19 year old daughter and we did a bit of shopping and touring and it was just out of this world. We probably ate too much but luckily we were clocking 25,000 steps a day so it was absolutely fine.

4-7 days is a ideal time to do all the basics in rome. Highly recommend a guided tour to places like the colleseum if you are genuinly interested in the history. The guides have to do a lot of study to become guides and the information they have is amazing!

Rome is a great city to walk in.
Rome is a great city to walk in. It is mostly flat however there are some places that are worth the climb of some steps to discover more of this amazing city. If you want the place to yourself go early - very early as the crowds start building from 10ish.
Go into every Church that you can get into. They are all different some small and tiny and others that are huge and spectacular - you wont be disappointed
Walk and get lost and see what you find - you will be surprised

The building although found in the old city of Rome, was modern and aesthetically pleasing. The room was spacious and clean and we were also offered water which we could refill from the hotel itself - who doesn’t love a sustainable act? The best part was the breakfast - so delicious and mouthwatering, I’ve never tasted such good breakfast at a hotel in Italy! The food was so genuine and fresh - pure delicacies of Rome! Finally, Erica the receptionist was so sweet and welcoming on our arrival and departure.
This is definitely a rare find! The staff treated us like we were kings and queens and the bed was extra comfortable and the best part of our stay was the breakfast! In all of my trips to Italy, I have never eaten italian cornetti (croissant) that were that good! I’m always traveling for work and it is the first time that I can say that a hotel is definitely cheaper than what they should actually charge! I really recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Rome!
Excellent boutique like hotel with nice breakfast and great staff . The location was great , just in front of a bus station, a corner shop and one of the best gelato place. Very safe neighborhood as we were 2 ladies travelling. Would definitely come back to Deseo if in Rome again.
The hotel was in close proximity to Trastevere and the bus to the Rome Termini. The room was large compared to the hotels we have stayed in when in Italy. The rooftop breakfast area provided a great view toward the centre of Rome. Definitely a recommendation.
The Staff were very welcoming and kind, VERY KIND.
Only Hotel in the whole of Italy, after we toured Rome, Florence, Venice & Milan, that had plenty of ice cubes 24/7.
