    Lovely place, very atmospheric.

Lovely place, very atmospheric. Convenient for exploring Canadian Rockies and Canadian Icefields. Skywalk was an amazing experience. Very nice to walk with a guide. Lots of good restaurants in Banff, however we accidentally picked the weekend with Monday holiday. Avoid those. The place became very crowded and lots of traffic congestions. As a result, we could not visit Lake Louise. There are buses from Banff going there but too crowded due to the long weekend.

The town of Banff is spectacular, not overcrowded good restaurants everywhere and lots of outdoor activities available like hiking walking cycling swimming. We strongly recommend renting e-bikes so you can see way more in your short stay the Banff Springs hotel in spectacular but very very expensive.

    Banff is wonderful.

Banff is wonderful. There are so many cute restaurants and shops in the bustling downtown. The river walk is gorgeous, as are the gardens at the end of the Main Street. Unfortunately it is very crowded, so it feels a bit hectic and parking is difficult. If you plan to spend time outside of the downtown area, enjoying the natural beauty, I would recommend staying in Canmore instead of Banff. Canmore is only 10 minutes from Banff further from the main park attractions and is also an extremely cute town with great restaurants and shops. It is a lot less crowded and significantly cheaper. It also has a beautiful river with multiple walking paths, through the town. Banff,Jasper National and Yoho Parks are downright gorgeous. Lake Louise and Moraine Lake are so busy that you are shoulder to shoulder with other tourists. But it is still worth going. Yoho is not to be missed. Emerald Lake is an absolute gem and exceeded our expectations. On our trip we saw moose, bear, elk, big horned sheep, eagles, deer and about a million ground squirrels. Fantastic piece of nature.

We drove from Winnipeg to Banff and it was our favourite thing throughout my stay in Canada. One of the most beautiful places we've ever seen. A picturesque park, with stunning views throughout. Well worth a visit. Purchase a Park Ticket in advance and print it. Also purchase Pursuit Pass (https://www.banffjaspercollection.com/attractions/pursuit-pass/) having all great adventures. The mountains are spectacular, All the lakes are beautiful. It is just amazing. Be sure to check online for every place you want to visit and plan properly and also you can purchase shuttle or tour tickets in advance, especially for places like Lake Louise, Lake Moraine and even the Gondola. The main town of Banff has a variety of very good restaurants. We will definitely return! We enjoyed MASALA restaurant and it was very delicious.

Banff was busier than expected, even in mid June.

Banff was busier than expected, even in mid June. As my husband said, it was like Pitlochry (Scotland) on steroids! However, if you avoid Banff Ave, we found peace & quiet. On one of our walks just outside the town we never saw or heard anyone for 2 miles of our 7 mile walk. If you plan ahead carefully you can have a good stay. Had a nice walk from town along the river and a decent pint at the brewery. Glad we stayed in Tunnel Mountain. Took advantage of free transit but also appreciated free parking at the train station ( make sure you arrive before 10am!)

the town is heavily filled with tourists, then quite noisy and crowded in the very center, during our stay in July it is difficult to find a place in a restaurant – waiting time for a outside table 15-20 minutes plus another 15-20 minutes of waiting for a meal, picturesque gardens by the bridge over the Bow River, a beautiful walking path along the river to the waterfall, a good starting point for other attractions in the nearby area, personally, next time I will choose to stay in the cheaper, less noisy Canomore

This was our first time to book at Douglas Fir. We usually booked on hotels in downtown Banff. We were surprised that the room has kitchen. It's just like a condo. Since our stay was just for a night we were not able to use the hot pool outside. But the mountain view from the deck was spectacular.

Amazing stay, best of our Canada roadtrip. Alexandra, her husband and Esther are the best hosts ever. The bed and the room were excellent and the breakfast was superb. 5min walk from Banff centre. Exceeded our expectations in all aspects. Warm and welcoming, yet quite and private. Perfect!
