In the event that you have received 6 months or 9 months of unemployment benefits, because your employment insurance seniority has been zeroed, if you are being hired to a job again and apply for unpaid parental leave allowances, your employment insurance seniority should be calculated starting from the second day after receiving your full amount of allowance. Only those whose employment insurance seniority equals one year may apply for unpaid parental leave allowances.
