We asked for your thoughts after Sunday's FA Cup game between Tamworth and Tottenham.

Here are some of your comments:

Matt: A total shambles, embarrassing to watch. Credit to Tamworth for their efforts but a completely toothless uncommitted performance yet again from Spurs. I can only assume these are the efforts of a squad who no longer want to play under such a one-dimensional manager. Please recruit Marco Silva asap. If he's not interested, let's try for Scott Parker.

Stuart: The players showed their lack of fight in this fixture unfortunately. Can't blame Ange Postecoglou for the poor performance - players have to switch on and step up. We got lucky.

Martin: Well done, Tamworth. You well and truly exposed the lack of quality in the Tottenham squad. We had to put our topline available players on the pitch to beat a tiring team of part-timers. Congratulations Tamworth.

Ken: I am now in my 70s and watch a lot of football - from schoolboy level to top pro and nation level. By a country mile, that was the worst display of football from a Spurs side.

Terry: If the Spurs manager is happy with his team's performance, then he is definitely in cuckoo land. Until the first goal went in, you wouldn't know who were the Premier League team.

Branko: First of all, credit to Tamworth. As for Tottenham, they're through to the next round, job done, all without really getting out of second gear.

Ange Postecoglou spoke to ITV after Tottenham's victory against Tamworth: "It was a challenging game as we expected it to be.

"They made it hard for us, with the surface it was about us staying calm and being persistent in our football.

"In the end, we got the job done."

On the message going into extra time: "Stay calm and persistent. We knew we would finish strong and you could see they were tiring a bit.

"It's a game of football you go into it with trepidation and knowing you can slip up with the challenges.

"Most parts the boys kept their heads. I thought they stayed clam and persisted and got through.

"We are through to the next round and that was the objective for today.

"Tamworth did really well and should be proud of their efforts. For us, we move on."

Tottenham defender Archie Gray spoke to ITV after Sunday's victory against Tamworth: "I think the most important thing is we got the win. Credit to them, they took us to extra time. Being where they are in the league and credit to them.

"We were not good enough for 90 minutes - quite a few of us were not at the races today.

"We have all played on these pitches when were younger so it is not different for us. Sometimes in football it happens, these games are not going to be easy - the fans were brilliant.

"The quality shone through in the last 15 minutes our fitness showed and nothing to take away from them for what they did in 90 minutes.

"This is what the FA Cup is all about. Get to see all the clubs in English football - it is nice and the fans were brilliant.

"It was tough, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

"We like to do it the hard way."

  8. Sutton's predictions: Tamworth v Tottenhampublished at 18:26 11 January

Chris Sutton and Billy Bob Thornton

BBC Sport football expert Chris Sutton has made his predictions for all 32 FA Cup third round games and given his verdict on who will make it into round four.

For this week's matches he is up against actor and musician Billy Bob Thornton, who is a Liverpool fan.

    Sutton's prediction: 1-3

I was at Tamworth to see them beat Huddersfield in round one and Tommy Tonks' long throw got them the winner that night.

Tonks launches it from anywhere inside the opposition half, and it is such a great weapon.

So, poor old Ange Postecoglou knows what is coming his way too. His Spurs defenders are going to get the same treatment, and we are going to find out whether Spurs can cope.

It is a basic thing, a long throw, but I am not convinced Spurs have the players to deal with it. Their centre-half pairing for part of their defeat by Newcastle was Djed Spence and Archie Gray, so it is not as if they have got people like Tony Adams and Steve Bould, who would relish that kind of test.

I actually think Tamworth will score. When they beat Huddersfield they were well organised, and they beat them well.

The other thing Tottenham will have to deal with is a terrible pitch, so this tie is far from straightforward, but I also believe that, unlike Huddersfield, Spurs will create enough opportunities to win the tie.

    Thornton's prediction: 0-5

The FA Cup third round is well under way, with Premier League sides Everton, Fulham and Aston Villa the clubs already booking their places in the fourth-round draw with wins on Thursday and Friday.

But for other sides hoping for a healthy cup run this season, when will the draw take place?

The draw will be live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer following the conclusion of the Arsenal v Manchester United tie, which kicks off at 15:00 GMT on Sunday.

It will include 32 teams - with all third-round matches this weekend settled on the day - and the resulting ties will be played over the weekend commencing Saturday, 8 February.

  10. Postecoglou on VAR, squad rotation and Tamworthpublished at 15:41 10 January

    Adwaidh Rajan
    BBC Sport journalist

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has been speaking to the media before Sunday's FA Cup game at Tamworth (kick-off 12:30 GMT).

Here are the key lines from his news conference:

    • He said that he is hoping to give some game time to teenage striker Mikey Moore, who recently returned from a long injury lay-off.

    • However, there will not be scope for significant rotation as Spurs are "still limited in terms of numbers".

    • On what to expect from team selection: "It's an opportunity to put out a team that will win a game of football for us. The ones who play will be the ones that I think will do that."

    • James Maddison and Pape Sarr, who missed the Carabao Cup semi-final win against Liverpool due to suspension, will be available for Sunday.

    • On whether he is relieved not to have VAR in Sunday's game given his comments after the Liverpool game, Postecoglou agreed, adding: "I am mindful that sometimes I overstep the mark in some of those situations. I talk as an individual and as a person who is passionate about the game."

    • He said he'd rather talk about football "as a representative of the club" and will let other people judge on VAR.

    • Asked whether the visit to Tamworth will be a shock to his players, Postecoglou said his players are not "multi-million-dollar" stars but "good human beings" with some deriving "from far worse places". He insisted Spurs will respect their National League opponents.

    • He expected Tamworth to "do their best to create an atmosphere where they will be proud of their ground and their facilities".

    • However, the Spurs boss said it is up to his players to be ready for the challenge and that they will go into the game "with the understanding that every game is important".

    • With the cup tie on artificial turf at The Lamb Ground, Postecoglou explained his players will train on a similar surface on Saturday in preparation for matchday.

    • Finally, Postecoglou said the FA Cup remains a very important competition with the final a "marquee day in the global football calendar".

  11. Postecoglou gives positive update on Bentancurpublished at 12:30 10 January

    Rodrigo BentancurImage source, PA Media

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has said midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur is "back home and feeling good" after being carried off on a stretcher during Wednesday's Carabao Cup semi-final first leg win against Liverpool.

Bentancur fell after attempting a header in the first half.

Speaking to club media on Friday,, external Postecoglou said: "He was in hospital and they did all the tests, just checking and making sure everything seems OK and yes, all good," he said.

"He is back home and he is feeling good.

"We will obviously follow the protocols now and it is a couple of weeks where you need to make sure everything is OK. It looks like a concussion but nothing more than that.

"It was distressing. Pedro Porro was the first one there and knew it was a distressing situation. I thought the lads and the medical team handled it well and thankfully all good."

Bentancur posted on his Instagram account on Thursday to tell fans he was "all good" following the incident.

We asked for your views after Wednesday's Carabao Cup semi-final first leg between Tottenham and Liverpool.

Here are some of your comments:

    Tottenham fans

Jack: Bergvall, Gray, Spence, Kinsky - wow! Liverpool were not at the races last night but with some injuries back in the second leg, could we do it?

Rajinder: Well done Ange! The lads really turned up today and executed the manager's plan beautifully. Best wishes to Bentancur for a speedy recovery. Now let's go finish the job at Anfield.

Colin: Great performance from a young team who didn't let the occasion get to them. A more reserved performance with outstanding contributions from Spence, Bergvall and Solanke. It's another month before we play Liverpool again so some time to boost the ranks with new players and returns from injury. Wembley might not be that far away!

John: For the first time in months, I was watching a proper Spurs team. I can tell you, it was a great source of relief. Well done lads and thanks.

    Liverpool fans

Jason: Liverpool are experiencing a blip right now. Consistency is missing and a clean sheet is extinct. Opponents have figured out how to neutralize Slot-ball, with Manchester United showing the way last Sunday. I fear the second half of this season will mirror last season. We may run out of steam and end up as bridesmaid for the biggest prizes again. I truly hope I'm wrong.

Raj: The controversy over the second yellow shouldn't hide from the disappointment of a poor Liverpool display. Several key players seem to be off form at the moment.

Andrew: You can't win them all. Home leg should be fine.

J Gibney: Looks like it's our turn for a dip in form. Fortunately the cup games will help us get back to a good level but it begins with the players being able to find their feet again, start there, keep the ball, confidence will return with it.

  14. Too much change too quickly?published at 09:32 9 January

    Media caption,

Decisions from officials were under scrutiny as Tottenham edged Liverpool 1-0 in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.

A foul by Lucas Bergvall late in the fixture - when play was allowed to continue - saw the Tottenham midfielder let off what would have been a second caution. Moments later he scored the winning goal.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou was left frustrated by officiating days earlier, while Liverpool manager Arne Slot was left stunned by Wednesday's decision.

Postecoglou questioned the countless changes to rules in his post-match media conference, while Slot gave his views on the controversy.

Rodrigo Bentancur posted on Instagram in the early hours of Thursday morning, writing "all good guys" following Wednesday's Carabao Cup tie against Liverpool.

The 27-year-old fell unchallenged as he went to head the ball and left the pitch on a stretcher after being treated for around nine minutes.

It was later confirmed he was conscious and talking and was taken to hospital for further checks.
