Who owns the content I post or upload?

Updated: 17 July 2017

You own the copyright if whatever you post or upload is completely new and original. That usually means it doesn’t contain anyone else’s content, like videos and music.

For anything that contains content made by someone else, the copyright may belong to them. So you’ll usually need to get their permission before posting it to the BBC.

There’s more info about your copyright here. And you’ll find general info on copyright here.

Extra terms apply when you upload your music to BBC Introducing. Read about them here.
