The Power Up Tour (stylised as PWR/UP Tour) is an ongoing concert tour by Australian rock band AC/DC, in support of their seventeenth studio album Power Up (2020). The tour began on 17 May 2024 in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. The Pretty Reckless serves as the supporting act for the European leg and the upcoming North American leg.

AC/DC embarked on the Rock or Bust World Tour in May 2015, in support of their sixteenth studio album, Rock or Bust (2014). [2] On 7 March 2016, the members announced that the final ten dates of the tour would be rescheduled as Brian Johnson's doctors had ordered him to stop touring immediately, as he risked complete deafness if he persisted. [3] He was replaced by Guns N' Roses front man Axl Rose on 16 April. [4] Bassist Cliff Williams indicated that he would be leaving AC/DC after the tour during an interview with Gulfshore Life's Jonathan Foerste on 8 July 2016. [5] After completing the tour, AC/DC went on hiatus. In August 2018, speculation grew that former members Johnson and Rudd were back and working with the band again. A fan living near the Warehouse Studio, Vancouver claimed to have observed them in the outdoor area of the studio from an apartment window. [6] A photograph of Johnson with Williams at the gymnasium of the Living Shangri-La hotel in Vancouver in December 2018 also surfaced, further indicating that Williams had also rejoined the band. [7]

On 7 October 2020, the band confirmed the upcoming release on 13 November of their next studio album, Power Up and issued its first single, "Shot in the Dark". [8] The album's track listing was revealed on their website the same day. [9] AC/DC performed a co-headlining act of the Power Trip music festival, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California on 7 October 2023, [10] [11] with Williams being part of the line-up after coming out of retirement, [12] and American drummer Matt Laug, replacing Rudd. [13] The band have dropped clues, giving "speculation" that they would be going on another tour in 2024; [14] including an appearance in the Olympiastadion in Munich on 12 June 2024. [15] [16]

On 6 February 2024, the band published a teaser on their social accounts, showing the band's lightning bolt symbol flickering, before the words "Are You Ready" appear and their song of the same name. [17] The tour was announced on 12 February, with former Jane's Addiction member Chris Chaney replacing Williams as bassist. [18] On 16 February, additional shows were later announced for Seville, Dresden and Hanover. [19] American band The Pretty Reckless are set to support the band for the first European leg. [1] The band launched five dive bars in Gelsenkirchen, Seville, Munich, London and Paris during the tour, named the High Voltage Dive Bar. [20] A photo of the touring lineup rehearsing for the tour was released on 12 May 2024, a few days before the tour began. [21] The European leg of the tour concluded in Dublin on 17 August 2024. Following rumours about the announcement of a North American tour, [23] the band announced shows in the United States and Canada on 2 December 2024, consisting of thirteen shows to take place from April to May in 2025, with The Pretty Reckless as the opening act. [24] [25] A second European leg was announced on 3 February 2025, consisting of twelve shows to take place from June to August 2025. [26]

Alongside the announcement of the tour, it was revealed that a public on-sale for the tour did not happen. Fans could register for a chance to buy tickets through the presale on 16 February 2024 between 9–11 am local times through all dates, [27] except on the second night in Seville, on 20 February at 9:45 am. [28] [29]

A majority of the European dates are marked as "sold out", [29] including in Reggio Emilia, which sold out in "a few hours". [30] In Dublin, fans experience a technical issue with Ticketmaster, where almost 35,000 people are in queue to buy tickets. [31] Meanwhile, some fans were fuming about standing ticket prices being €335 or more, with one person posting on X, saying it is "daylight robbery". [32] On 28 March 2024, Creative Artists Agency co-head Chris Dalston spoke with Pollstar and reported that the band had sold 1.5 million tickets in one day for the upcoming European tour dates. Arch Enemy is a Swedish melodic death metal band, originally a supergroup from Halmstad, formed in 1995. Its members were in bands such as Carcass, Armageddon, Carnage, Mercyful Fate, Spiritual Beggars, The Agonist, Nevermore, and Eucharist. It was founded by Carcass guitarist Michael Amott along with Johan Liiva, who were both originally from the death metal band Carnage. The band has released eleven studio albums, three live albums, three video albums and four EPs. The band was originally fronted by Johan Liiva, who was replaced by German vocalist Angela Gossow in 2000. Gossow left the band in March 2014, subsequently becoming the group's manager, and was replaced by Canadian vocalist Alissa White-Gluz.

Bleeding Through is an American metalcore band from Orange County, California, formed in 1999. Influenced largely by hardcore punk and Swedish melodic death metal, the band was established by lead vocalist Brandan Schieppati as a personal project after leaving Throwdown. Schieppati, who also was a member of Eighteen Visions, originally balanced playing with Eighteen Visions and Bleeding Through, recording the independent albums Dust to Ashes (2001) and Portrait of the Goddess (2002) before departing Eighteen Visions to focus on Bleeding Through.

Testament is an American thrash metal band from Berkeley, California. Formed in 1983 under the name Legacy, the band's current lineup comprises rhythm guitarist Eric Peterson, lead vocalist Chuck Billy, lead guitarist Alex Skolnick, bassist Steve Di Giorgio and drummer Chris Dovas. Testament has experienced many lineup changes over the years, with Peterson being the only remaining original member, though they have since reunited with Skolnick, who had been out of the band from 1992 to 2005. Billy has been a member of Testament since 1986, when he replaced original frontman Steve "Zetro" Souza, who had left to replace Paul Baloff in Exodus. L.A. Guns are an American hard rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 1983. The lineup currently consists of Tracii Guns, Phil Lewis, Ace Von Johnson, Johnny Martin, Adam Hamilton and Shawn Duncan. The first incarnation of the group was formed by Tracii Guns and Rob Gardner in 1983 and merged with fellow Los Angeles group Hollywood Rose to form Guns N' Roses in March 1985. After only a brief tenure in that band, Guns reformed L.A. Guns with a new lineup, consisting of Paul Black, Mick Cripps, Robert Stoddard, and Nickey Alexander. Black would soon be replaced by former Girl singer Phil Lewis while former Faster Pussycat bassist Kelly Nickels was added to the group. BulletBoys is an American hard rock/glam metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1987. The group's original lineup was composed of singer Marq Torien, guitarist Mick Sweda, bassist Lonnie Vencent, and drummer Jimmy D'Anda. The group released two successful albums and had a number of singles featured on MTV between 1988 and 1991. From the 1990s onward, the group went through numerous lineup changes, with Torien as the only consistent member. Their most recent album From Out of the Skies was released in 2018. The Not in This Lifetime... Tour was a concert tour by hard rock band Guns N' Roses, spanning from April 1, 2016, to November 2, 2019. It featured classic lineup members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan, marking the first time since the Use Your Illusion Tour in 1993 that the three performed together. After the previous tour in 2014, guitarists DJ Ashba & Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, bassist Tommy Stinson and keyboardist Chris Pitman left Guns N' Roses, leaving the band with several open spots. Former members Slash and McKagan rejoined the band and Melissa Reese joined as keyboardist. The group embarked on a world tour that spanned all continents except Antarctica. They performed 175 shows making it their third longest tour ever, just behind the Use Your Illusion Tour and the Chinese Democracy Tour. The group welcomed former drummer Steven Adler to the stage for several shows as a guest spot, the first time he had played with the group since 1990. The tour has been a financial success, grossing over $584.2 million, making it the fourth-highest-grossing concert tour of all time. The tour was 2016's highest-earning per-city global concert tour as well as the fourth-highest-grossing overall that year. In 2017, the tour ranked as the second highest grossing worldwide tour. The tour was honored at the Billboard Live Music Awards in November 2017, winning Top Tour/Top Draw and being nominated for Top Boxscore.

<i>Power Up</i> (album) 2020 studio album by AC/DC

Power Up is the seventeenth studio album by Australian rock band AC/DC, released on 13 November 2020 through Columbia Records. Power Up marks the return of vocalist Brian Johnson, drummer Phil Rudd and bassist Cliff Williams to AC/DC. This is also the band's first album since the death of co-founder and rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young in 2017. Malcolm received posthumous songwriting credits for all of the album's songs, as they were never-before released tracks written by him and his brother, Angus. The album is dedicated and serves as tribute to Malcolm according to his brother.

<i>Explosions</i> (Three Days Grace album) 2022 studio album by Three Days Grace

Explosions is the seventh studio album by Canadian rock band Three Days Grace. It was released on May 6, 2022, through RCA Records. The album was produced by Howard Benson and by the band themselves. It the band's third album to feature Matt Walst as lead vocalist, and their last as a quartet, as founding vocalist Adam Gontier rejoined Three Days Grace in 2024, with Walst remaining in the band as well.
