The New South Wales Rugby League administered several competitions during the 2022 rugby league season in Australia.
The 2022 season of the Knock-On Effect New South Wales Cup commenced on the weekend of 12–13 March 2022. [1] [2] Teams played 24 regular competition rounds, with the top five teams qualifying for the final series in September.
Penrith Panthers won the 2022 NSW Cup grand final, defeating Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs 29–22 at CommBank Stadium to take their fourth premiership in this competition.
There are 12 teams competing in the 2022 NSW Cup.

[8] [9] [10] The competition is scheduled to run for nine rounds, with Round 9 to be played on the weekend of 2–4 July 2022, and a four-team, two-week finals series to follow in July. A full round of matches (Round 5) was washed out, with the seven games scheduled designated as a nil-all draw. A Round 6 match between Balmain Tigers and Sydney Roosters was deemed a draw after an electrical storm curtailed play early in the second half, when the score was 6–12. The competition ran from 5 February to 30 April 2022.

The New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) is the governing body of rugby league in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory and is a member of the Australian Rugby League Commission. It was formed in Sydney on 8 August 1907 and was known as the New South Wales Rugby Football League (NSWRFL) until 1984. From 1908 to 1994, the NSWRL ran Sydney's, then New South Wales', and eventually Australia's top-level rugby league club competition. The organisation is responsible for administering the New South Wales rugby league team.
The NSW Cup, currently known as the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup for sponsorship reasons, is a rugby league competition for clubs in New South Wales. The competition has a history dating back to the NSWRFL's origins in 1908, starting off as a reserve grade competition, and is now the premier open age competition in the state. The New South Wales Cup, along with the Queensland Cup, acts as a feeder competition to the National Rugby League premiership. The competition is the oldest continuous rugby league competition in the Australia.
The 2004 NRL season was the 97th season of professional rugby league football in Australia, and the seventh run by the National Rugby League. Fifteen clubs competed during the regular season before the top eight finishing teams contested the finals series. The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs defeated the Sydney Roosters in the 2004 NRL grand final and in doing so claimed their eighth premiership.

The Jersey Flegg Cup is a junior rugby league competition played in New South Wales, Australia, contested among teams made up of players aged 21 or under. The competition is administered by the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL), and is named for Eastern Suburbs foundation player and prominent administrator of the game, Harry "Jersey" Flegg.
The Wentworthville Magpies, colloquially known as Wenty, are an Australian rugby league team based in the suburb of Wentworthville in Sydney's Western Suburbs. Founded in 1963, the club has competed in various Sydney district competitions and, since 2003, the semi-professional Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield competitions in NSW, Australia. The club also fielded a team in the Canterbury Cup NSW as part of a joint-venture with the Parramatta Eels between 2008 and 2019 acting as Parramatta's feeder club.
The St Marys Saints are an Australian rugby league club who were formed in 1908. They were the founding Member of the Penrith District Rugby League. They have previously competed in the NSWRL Jim Beam Cup, winning three titles in the 1990s and in the NSWRL Premier League/State League as a former joint-venture club with their local rivals, the Penrith Panthers from 2002 until 2007. For a brief time, the Saints were known as the Cougars in the NSWRL Jim Beam Cup. The club has since returned to its original name.
The Central Coast Roosters, formerly Central Coast Centurions, are an Australian rugby league football club based in the Central Coast region in New South Wales. They competed in the New South Wales Cup which they exited in 2011. The club still competes in the NSWRL Women's Premiership, S. G. Ball Cup and Harold Matthews Cup competitions.
The Hills District Bulls is an Australian rugby league football club. It plays in the Parramatta District junior league based in Baulkham Hills at Crestwood Oval.
The Mounties Rugby League Football Club is an Australian rugby league football club based in Mount Pritchard, New South Wales formed in 1927. They currently play in the Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield.
The Tarsha Gale Cup is an elite under-19s Women's rugby league competition in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. The competition was named after former captain of Australia and current NRLW commentator, Tarsha Gale, in honour of her impact on Women's rugby league as a pioneer of the sport.

The 2021 Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks season was the 55th in the club's history. The club was coached by Josh Hannay in an interim role and captained by Wade Graham. The team was initially coached by John Morris, who was relinquished of his duties following the signing of Craig Fitzgibbon as coach for the 2022 NRL season. The team competed in the National Rugby League's 2021 Telstra Premiership.
The New South Wales Rugby League administered several competitions during the 2021 rugby league season in Australia. The season was impacted by the Delta variant of the COVID-19 pandemic. Junior competitions, Country representative tournaments, and City versus Country representative matches were concluded prior to the impact of lockdown in June 2021. The lockdowns, however, led to the postponement and subsequent cancellation of senior competitions.

Fifteen of a scheduled 24 rounds were played, with the last completed round of matches occurring on the weekend of 19–20 June 2021.
The 2022 New South Wales Rugby League Presidents Cup will be a competition to determine the best semi-professional Rugby League team in New South Wales. It will be the third season of the competition. The 2022 season will add the Western Conference into the competition, which brings the conferences up to 4. The winners of each conference will play a 2-week knockout series to determine the Presidents Cup winners.

The Wests Tigers Women are an Australian professional rugby league football team, based in the Inner West and South West Sydney. The team is part of the Wests Tigers club and plays in the National Rugby League Women's Premiership.
In June 2022 Wests Tigers were accepted into the NRLW for the 2023 Season. Brett Kimmorley was announced as head coach in October 2022. In early April 2023 the club made their first player signing announcement, with the naming of Kezie Apps, Botille Vette-Welsh, and Sarah Togatuki.
Wests Tigers Women played their first NRLW competition game in July 2023.
The New South Wales Rugby League will administer several Major Competitions during the 2024 season. This will include five men's competitions, two women's competitions and an under 21s competition.
