From October 18 – 20, 2024, Members brought their A-game to the exciting Internal UTR Tennis Ranking Tournament held at the Club 🎾. There were a total of 44 players, and after the showdowns filled with powerful serves and friendly competition, there emerged a champion each from the 3rd, 4th, and 5th category. UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) is a world rating system, where it provides an accurate index of players' skill in the game of tennis regardless of age, gender, nationality, or locale of a given match. Sky joined The American Club in October 2022 as a Graphic Designer and has since emerged as a pivotal creative contributor. He plays a vital role in developing the Club's stunning visuals, supporting over 10 departments to create engaging designs for both digital and print media. His work significantly enhances the Club's promotions, events, and marketing initiatives. Additionally, Sky captures memorable moments at Club events through his photography, further enriching the Club's creative storytelling. Sky’s favorite part of his job? His fantastic Marcom team. They’re the reason he’s motivated to bring his best every day. Outside of work, Sky loves dancing and spending quality time with family. Recently, he’s become an avid Pop Mart collector, focusing on Star Wars, Cry Baby, and Labubu toys. A fun fact about Sky: he has a great sense of humor, always ready with a classic dad joke, and he can perform magic tricks that never fail to amaze his colleagues. If you spot him around the Club, don’t hesitate to ask for a magic trick or two!

Tuesday, October 22, 2024, was an evening to remember, as Members enjoyed an exclusive cocktail experience🍹✨. Renowned guest mixologist Syafiq Rahim captivated the crowd with a live showcase, featuring signature creations such as the Lillet Spritz Rosa, El Presidente, Old Harvard, and Gold Rush🍸. The night was filled with vibrant flavors, lively conversation, and unforgettable moments shared among friends.

On Thursday, October 17, 2024, The American Club hosted an unforgettable Strike Night Bowling Tournament 🎳. Huge congratulations to the Degen Bros, the overall team champions 🏆, and a special shoutout to the top individual scorers, Tushar Karan and Zafar Esmail 🥇. Thank you to everyone who joined us for a fantastic evening of strikes, spares, and fierce competition! 🎉

There's Trick or Treat for the little ones and the parents, a Hollywood-themed Halloween Bash for the Junior Members, and a Spooky Soirée at Grillhouse for the adults after the sun sets. Mathias Camilleri holds the prestigious title of Master Sommelier, one of only two in Singapore and fewer than 270 worldwide. This accolade underscores his exceptional expertise in wine, developed through years of honing his craft to create seamless pairings that delight the palate. Mathias has garnered numerous other accolades, including 2015 UK Young Sommelier and International Young Sommelier awarded by Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, and the 2017 UK Sommelier of the Year. His journey began with a sommelier degree from Lycée Albert de Mun, Paris, followed by a specialization in viticulture and oenology. His distinguished career includes positions at some of the world’s finest Michelin-starred establishments, including Pierre Gagnaire in Paris, Medlar in London, and The Five Fields in London. In Singapore, Mathias has led wine programs at CÉ LA VI and Marina Bay Sands, and most recently served as Associate Director of F&B Operations at COMO Group. As the Club’s newly appointed Director of Beverage, Mathias will elevate the Members’ wine and beverage experience, offering expertly curated wine selections, tailored pairings, and enriching wine events that reflect his passion and mastery. This year's Culinary Crossover brought the flavors of Hong Kong to Singapore from October 8 – 13 in a spectacular showcase of authentic Cantonese dishes whipped up by Chef Li Kim Fung from The American Club Hong Kong 🇭🇰🇸🇬. Members' taste buds were delighted with unique dishes and unforgettable dining experiences🍴.
