Last Saturday, Australian professional golfer and Sands ambassador Minjee Lee, who has amplified the world of women sports and golf through her decade-long career, met with 10 junior golfers from the Singapore Golf Association’s youth development programmes. Organised as part of Marina Bay Sands’ In Conversation With series, where industry titans meet with young and budding talents, the session took place at the hotel’s Paiza Collection suite with a sports simulator During the Q&A segment of the session, the 10-time LPGA Tour champion shared learnings from her professional career, including her warm-up routine, how she gets into peak mental zone for a tournament and tips on mentally preparing for the next round after a bad shot. “You can’t always be on your A game. When I play a game and something goes a bit off, I can see it through my swing or stroke. The next shot, I’ll just do a couple more swings. Ultimately, trust your skill and the practice you’ve done,” said Minjee, who discovered her passion for golf at the tender age of 10. These words of advice seek to encourage these aspiring talents to build resilience and refine their mental game for their next competition. Thereafter, the group enjoyed a round of golf inside a state-of-the-art sports simulator equipped with a full suite of golf accessories, before the three-time Olympic athlete surprised them with an autographed golf ball at the end of the session. Since joining Sands as the first female brand ambassador in June 2023, Minjee has been empowering communities by demonstrating the success of female champions as role models for young athletes, through inspirational talks and appearances at Sands’ global resorts in Macau and Singapore, as well as through Sands Cares, the company’s corporate responsibility programme. #MarinaBaySands #SandsCares

Yesterday, we organised the annual Sands Cares Global Hygiene Kit Build in partnership with Clean the World. This year marked our 10th Hygiene Kit Build, with over 600 dedicated Team Members and 20 volunteers from Singapore Red Cross coming together to assemble 30,000 hygiene kits aimed at supporting disadvantaged individuals.   This initiative is part of Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s ongoing global kit build series, which has produced over one million hygiene kits since its inception in 2014 to aid people affected by disasters and hardship.   Each kit included essential shower amenities, dental care items and message cards, which will be distributed by Clean the World and its partner, The WASH Foundation. Beneficiaries include local communities supported by Singapore Red Cross as well as Children International in the Philippines.   Later this month, Sands China and our corporate headquarters in Las Vegas will continue this mission by assembling an additional 40,000 kits that will benefit those in need.   “The combination of uniting with our fellow regions around the world for a meaningful cause and providing critical hygiene supplies for vulnerable communities is an inspiring motivator that has made the annual kit build one of our most highly anticipated volunteer activities,” said Paul Town, Chief Operating Officer, Marina Bay Sands.   #SandsCares #CSR

In the last of our three-part series, we feature one of our Singapore Tourism Awards 2024 nominees for Customer Service Excellence (Hotels), Brenda Chan. A Group Operations Executive, Brenda has continuously received praise from event organisers for her dedication to hitting each event out of the park. During the world premiere of the Hollywood blockbuster film, Transformers: Rise of The Beasts, at Marina Bay Sands last year, Brenda was responsible for the coordination and execution of hotel logistics and movement for over 50 celebrities, media and key opinion leaders from around the world. Despite the sizeable number of guests, she meticulously coordinated with various departments prior to the event to ensure a seamless and warm welcome. She even arranged for the Sands Lounge to be opened past operating hours so that the guests could comfortably check in. With a deep commitment to delivering exceptional stays and connecting with guests from all walks of life, there is no challenge too daunting for Brenda. “When working with celebrities and the media, privacy is key. Keeping them out of the public eye is our top priority and is no small feat, but with my tightly knit team, rigorous planning and communication, we were able to guarantee an exceptional stay,” she said. She added: “Behind every event at Marina Bay Sands is months of meticulous preparation, strategic planning and continuous communication. But at the end of the day, when I see our guests leave with smiles on their faces, it makes all the hours of hard work worth it.” #MarinaBaySands #SingaporeTourismAwards

Earlier this year, Marina Bay Sands’ senior executives took the lead to clean up Marina Reservoir. This initiative is part of our ongoing collaboration with Waterways Watch Society. Throughout the year, our Team Members volunteer to participate in their clean-up programme at Kallang Riverside Park. These three-hour sessions offer our Team Members not just the chance to remove litter from Marina Reservoir, but to deepen their understanding of water conservation in Singapore – a cause that is crucial to our city’s future. By rolling up our sleeves and getting involved, we help to ensure that our waters remain a clean and thriving ecosystem for everyone to enjoy. #SandsECO360 #Sustainability

Continuing our three-part series, we spotlight our Singapore Tourism Awards 2024 finalists for Customer Service Excellence (Retail), Lina Jiang, who is often lauded by colleagues and guests alike for her exemplary customer service. A dedicated Senior Guest Service Agent, Lina’s unwavering commitment to excellence shines through every interaction, serving as an inspiring role-model for the team. With over a year of distinguished service and a remarkable track record of winning awards for her outstanding performance, Lina embodies the spirit of exceptional service. “Understanding a guest’s needs goes beyond answering their questions. It is about anticipating their needs and resolving issues in a calm and composed demeanour,” Lina explains. Whether addressing guest concerns or resolving complex issues, she remains composed, always focusing on finding a solution. Most recently, a foreign guest left his mobile phone in a taxi and approached Lina for assistance. She called the taxi company multiple times through the day, and eventually managed to reach the taxi driver, who agreed to return to Marina Bay Sands and pass the phone to the guest. Conscious that it had been an anxious and long wait for the guest, she advised him to rest at a café in comfort and return to the concierge at a certain time to collect his phone. Lina’s drive to deliver above and beyond stems from her belief that great service is not just a professional duty but a personal commitment to making a difference in guests’ lives. As she puts it, “Great service is not just about solving problems. It is about making the whole experience positive and memorable for all guests.” #MarinaBaySands #SingaporeTourismAwards
