I started trying to bring the dynamic navigation box technology over to Wikiversity from Wikipedia. There seems to be a problem with getting the hide/show button to display correctly on the navigation boxes.
Navigation templates
[edit | edit source]While trying to making some page navigation templates for Wikiversity I noticed that Template:Navigation seemed to have a problem with the collapse/expand button not being on the navigation box (Figure 1).
Also, I wanted to have a navigation template that would show the "v d e" links as shown in Figure 2. I made Template:Navigation2 and Template:Tnavbar2 by copying from the current versions of w:Template:Navigation and w:Template:Tnavbar. Template:Navigation2 had the same problem with the position of the collapse/expand button.
MediaWiki files
[edit | edit source]I tried adding this code to MediaWiki:Common.js and the code for navigation at MediaWiki:Common.css is the same as at Wikipedia, as far as I can tell.
Wikipedia uses hide/show while Wikiversity is using collapse/expand. This can be changed in the MediaWiki:Common.css file (change "var NavigationBarHide = 'Collapse';", etc) if anyone cares.
Examples
[edit | edit source]These are some navigation boxes I am working on for School:Medicine:
Dr. Darklama
[edit | edit source]With much help from User:Darklama the problem with the collapse/expand "button" was fixed. MediaWiki:Common.js now holds code that correctly produces collapse/expand "buttons" on the navigation boxes.
