Adding a new AfD discussion

Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. No Depression is reliable source. It is a highly respected music magazine. MarySue Twohy is program director at Sirius XM. Folk Dj is a international organization with a radio station It's part of Folk Alliance International. I believe he meets the criteria for having a single on national music chart if you consider Folk Alliance International https://www.folkradio.org/ Currently his new record is currently #24 on this chart. Two of his vidoes for singles were reviewed by Americana Highways, another respectable music publication although they are not listed in this article. The festivals that he won or was finalist are national competitions Lyle Lovett and Nanci Griffith were finalists at Kerrville. Most of the other references such as who he performed with were added to support a statement as being true. I agree it needs to be updated, but I not deleted. I don't think Folk Alliance International would be considered a valid chart as I would assume it falls under SINGLEVENDOR. No Depression should be reliable and Americana Highways is as far as I know (bit surprised to see neither listed at RSMUSIC), but it's still a bit limited. This could be turned around though. Hi I am not sure if FAI would be a single vendor. I am not quite understanding the definition. I am looking further into it. I am in the process of updating this page. Duane Davis (gangster)[edit]

Merge into Murder of Tupac Shakur. Textbook case of WP:BLP1E and a potential violation of WP:BLPCRIME. Most of the text in the article is about the murder and the various theories surrounding the possible perpetrator, not Davis. Davis hasn't been convicted or found guilty, and the coverage surrounding him is only in the context of the one event -- the murder of Tupac Shakur. Merge as suggested seems like the best way to proceed here. He isn't notable as a "criminal" (he hasn't been tried yet, only arrested), or otherwise, only notable in relation to the Tupac murder. Speedy Keep : as per nomination by various editors in terms of the same GNG Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Yung Miraboi Mark (2nd nomination). Clean up is just required which I would be contributing later due to my time schedule. In 2021 appeared at the Ghana national TV as a musician with one of his top song featuring Peruzzi [2]and no longer do music. In 2022, he was dragged by Nigerians for a political act [3] further details nomination 2 can be cited [4]. Nominator 2 has also been a block user for 4 years now I just noticed that. No indication that this person is notable per the current sourcing (which is not significant coverage), nor by her association with her husband, nor as a model/artist/musician. The article is part of a walled garden about the Munshi/Munsi extended family. A BEFORE search revealed nothing about this Jayati Devi (only about others). Fails WP:GNG and WP:CREATIVE. Comment I don't have paid access to newspapers dot com right now (money is tight) but there seems to be a good amount of non-trivial coverage for her on there. "Lynn Carey" singer and "Lynn Carey" actress are the best search terms, it seems. If someone who has access could clip some of those and add them, I think there would be a good case of her meeting the GNG at least for news coverage. I don’t see how those sources you provided meets GNG neither low quality. Meanwhile, i have never heard the word “Low quality” while determining either an article meets GNG or not. If it passes it passes. If doesn’t pass, it doesn’t. You can visit the article page. Check the tag to understand what reliable, independent source it’s all about. By "low-quality" I meant that the tone is tabloid-style and the articles don't contain a lot of independent analysis. The sources use non-neutral language, but I don't see indications that they have a vested interest in the subject. If the articles were sponsored, for example, they would be completely non-independent, but there is no indication of that (unless there's something I'm missing about the sources). Per WP:IIS, "Independence does not imply even-handedness. An independent source may hold a strongly positive or negative view of a topic or an idea." I understand u. But before i nominated the page. The sources are not just making sense to me. The few newspaper that was cited was just all about Meet Funnybros. The rest are from Nigerian blogs and music link containing Apple Music and the rest. Personal life he bought a Benz the two source cited are from blogs that are not reliable besides buying a Benz has nothing to do with notability. Keep: Aside the facts that the article is poorly sourced in terms of headlines. The references are organically written based on the fact fans appreciate his work, this is a notable comedian in Nigeria. Delete — fails WP:GNG. Too few reliable, independent sources. A few rather promotional articles on a small number of online news sites are insufficient to establish notability in my opinion. I can see further coverage on Legit.ng, but the articles seem to be very low-quality "entertainment" pieces (one of them being "Look, this YouTuber bought a flashy car!" — c'mon). The majority of the remaining references are very brief: low-effort pieces mostly focused on social media reactions. There seems to be little else available. That is the point. Almost all the source are just talking about what he has acquired. House, Benz and instagram verification has nothing to do with Wikipedia article for creation. Talking about notable outside of Wikipedia to my best of knowledge as a Nigerian ‘he has never trended for anything’ just a popular skit maker I know as well being famous due to his style of video. I agree. Articles like "How Female Fan Proposed To Me" and "Skit Maker Funnybros Trends As He Becomes a Mercedes Benz SUV Owner" seem poor references, even if the sources are generally reliable (also, I note the majority of stories about Funnybros on Legit.ng are from the same author; I can't help but wonder if they're paid articles or if there is some connection, but I have no evidence of that). Same goes for "Top 10 Skit Makers To Look Out For In 2023" which is literally just a low-effort listicle in which he's briefly mentioned. I don't think these entertainment fluff pieces are enough to show WP:SIGCOV. I can't find much else on Google beyond these types of articles — and I was mindful to search beyond the English-language sources — that, as Helpful Raccoon noted, are tabloid-style and hardly represent in-depth coverage of the man himself. If this level of referencing were all that is required, I could probably make a thousand Wikipedia articles about various YouTubers who, in reality, are not remotely notable. Has been deleted twice before, newest incarnation of article featured several sources that looked reliable on the surface, but were copied verbatim from this Blogspot blog, where they were published first, and which solely consists of five puffery-filled articles about this artist. (N.B.: This blog was deleted shortly after this AfD was opened.) The other two sources (no authors given) are also written in this non-journalistic press release style, one of which is on the same platform (menafn.com) that copied the Blogspot article, calling its integrity into question. This was here once before and the result was to redirect as the subject was deemed to not be sufficiently notable on their own, but it seems some folks keep trying to turn it into an article, so here we are again. "First Indian pop star to walk the red carpet at Cannes" seems like a desperate attempt to establish notability over a random intersection of events, seeing as Cannes is a film festival, not a music festival. I think this should either be restored to a redirect or preferably, just deleted. If either of those is done it should also be salted until such time as someone is able to produce a draft article that actually has significant coverage from reliable sources. Yet another musician, creative director, or music executive who critically fails WP:NCREATIVE and WP:NMUSICIAN. Another article written in a way that, if not carefully looked at, will look like it clearly passes any notability guideline, whereas it critically doesn't pass any. Just like Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Emperor Geezy, looking at the sources, they are either PRs/advertorials for music releases or lacking in WP:SIGCOV, they are also mostly unreliable pieces (without a proper byline). The source cited for the claim that they won an award Nigerian Books of Record in 2021, here utterly fails verification because there was no mention of Baanty, Ikpon Kelvin or even "Creative Director" which they won. It is also pretty dubious since the article says they've been active since 2022, so how come winning an award from the prestigious NBR? The other award and nominations isn't/aren't significant enough to make the subject presumptively notable under any criteria. Overall, fails WP:GNG. 1. He has been featured in multiple documentaries (Where We're From and Freestyle: The Art of Rhyme), books (The Come Up, The Way I Am, King Khule, Born a Villain), and articles (HipHopDX, etc.). His prominence in the documentaries have nothing to do with Eminem, so they are not inherited notability.

7. In Where We're From, Otherwize is cited as the most prominent battle rapper in his region (LA) during this era. That has nothing to do with Eminem, so it's not inherited notability.

9. Otherwize won 1st Place and 3rd Place in major national music competitions (Rap Olympics '97 and Scribble Jam '99). Granted, one of those was defeating Eminem, but the other one was not, and they are still placings in national music competitions regardless of who he defeated. So this is not inherited notability.

He is also part of a notable crew called Project Blowed, which is also a subject of documentaries (This is the Life and Hip-Hop Evolution). Move back to Draft -- as it is written, there aren't enough sources that establish notability beyond a doubt (the Lede has an interesting fact and cool accomplishment but probably is not enough on its own to get past GNG or a Music notability guideline). The author should continue to work on getting sources that point directly to notability (translated quotations from Iranian publications would help). On the WP:PROF side, it's a case of TOOSOON (often composers and conductors who are also academics pass the GNG or NMUSIC bar before they pass the WP:PROF criteria. -- any one of them is, however, enough to be a keep vote).

Non-notable band. Article was moved from draft space and I originally returned it. After examining the article I noticed that it claim the band started 6 December 2023. However, the the only reference was published 2 February 2021. This was at least 17 months before auditions started. In addition the reference seemed to be about three young women and not twelve young men. The article provides no references for a band that has only released two singles and was created by a non-notable reality show, 789 SURVIVAL. Comment: The citation currently in the article was clearly incorrectly inserted, probably the result of an inappropriate copy/paste job. But may I remind the nominator that Notability is based on the existence of suitable sources, not on the state of sourcing in an article. A Google News search for BUS 789 Survival turns up plenty of Thai-language coverage. Contested PROD. The sources do not demonstrate notability under WP:GNG, WP:NBIO, or WP:NMUSIC. (The first source is some kind of WP:USERGENERATED list of MP3 files, the second source has a single WP:TRIVIALMENTION of the subject, and the third fails verification entirely, referencing an entirely different individual with the patronym "Qalinle.") Edited to add: an editor has added a reference to Somali Culture and Folklore, pages 63-64. I do not believe this is a valid reference; the book itself is 64 pages and according to Google Books pages 63 and 64 appear to be index pages; Qalinle does not appear as a search term. Delete - They really existed and released a couple of albums, but unfortunately I can find little evidence that they received significant and reliable media coverage during their time. The current citations are for a one-paragraph album review, placeholders with no info in AllMusic, and a brief mention of a song being placed in a movie. They were mentioned occasionally in laundry lists of bands that worked with certain producers or at certain studios ([26], [27]), and a controversial album cover comes up sometimes in books about other controversies ([28]). In the Internet era they have a few bloggy notices of the "lost classic" variety ([29], [30]). Probable Keep, at worst a merge to Neil Merryweather (which should survive these proceedings). The article already cites a short but independent Billboard review from 1972, and they also were covered by Penthouse contemporaneously ([31]) and Ink 19 more recently ([32]).
