The result of the discussion was retarget to Border (disambiguation). plicit 00:08, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

See #Highlands below. There are 30 mainspace links left that seem correct, 2 tagged with dn, around 28 were incorrect, there were around 14 for Scottish Borders, 11 for Borders Group, 2 for Border Reivers (rugby) and 1 for Borders (M.I.A. song). There is also perhaps 1 or 2 other links perhaps for another topic. Perhaps no primary topic and retarget to Border (disambiguation). Google results seem to show mainly the group and the Scottish Borders, images seems to show picture borders so if an article can be created on that perhaps there's no primary topic for the singular either. The Border article probably qualified as a broad-concept article for the Scottish Borders but not for the group. Views[[1]] show Border got 6,456 views but the group got 6,002 and the Scottish Borders got 5,078. @Narky Blert: who suggested nominating. Crouch, Swale (talk) 20:52, 8 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Degeneracy. plicit 00:07, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget to Degeneracy. Not seeing a primary topic for this term; Lexico defines "degeneration" as the state of being "degenerate": "Having lost the physical, mental, or moral qualities considered normal and desirable; showing evidence of decline", which in a social sense is covered under Decadence. Eight of the top ten results on Google Scholar relate to degenerative disease, and Google image results are nearly all related to macular degeneration. Previous incoming mainspace links have been disambiguated. Sangdeboeuf (talk) 20:09, 8 October 2021 (UTC) edited 00:40, 9 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Highland (disambiguation). plicit 00:07, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've just checked the links-in. 40 out of 45 were wrong. 27 (60%) related to Scottish Highlands; others included places in California, Florida, Mauritius and New Jersey. Retarget to Highland (disambiguation). Narky Blert (talk) 16:48, 8 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Crouch, Swale: If you nominate Borders for RFD, I'll have a look and form an opinion. 58 bad links out of 88 is pretty poor, if not diabolical. Feel free to {{ping}} me. (I've memoed myself to do a WP:BPAT check on border; the reverse misspelling boarder is already a DAB.) Narky Blert (talk) 19:36, 8 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was soft delete. Based on minimal participation, this uncontroversial nomination is treated as an expired PROD (a.k.a. "soft deletion"). Editors can request the article's undeletion. plicit 00:09, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Delete per WP:RCOSTLY. We already have unambiguous Iraqi National Counter-Terrorism Force and INCTF linking there, while relatively harmless I believe we generally delete redirects where the disambiguating phrase is an initialism of the base page name. No incoming links, and has never got more than 3 hits day (usually 0 or 1). 85.67.32.244 (talk) 15:37, 8 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

See Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2016_December_2#Unfulfilled_religious_predictions; the current target is much too narrow. Hog Farm Talk 02:01, 1 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm not seeing the problem with keeping the redirect around unless/until someone creates an article about unfulfilled prophecies in other religions. If someone, in fact, has created an article about unfulfilled prophecies in other religions, then this page could be turned into a disambiguation page. (I would have held the same view of the other link as well.) --B (talk) 11:11, 1 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget one, delete (former Unicode lowercase). Hog Farm Talk 17:32, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Of the 22 conflicting pairs of redirects identified in the cleanup of T219279, this was the only pair where the "correct" title's target was not an obvious improvement on the "incorrect" title's. Since Ligature (writing) is a significantly narrower target than List of Latin-script letters, I suggest that we retarget to that and delete Ꜵ (former Unicode lowercase) like the other 21 (one of which has already been deleted, and the other 20 of which I've tagged for G6 speedy. (Or delete the former and suppressredirect-move the latter there. Either/or.) Courtesy ping Pppery based on our discussion of this at User talk:Legoktm § (former Unicode lowercase). -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 06:05, 8 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. Consensus for maintaining the status quo is clearly evident. Further discussion about what action to take with other similar redirects should occur at Talk:Delhi Metro. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 00:06, 27 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion reason: The official name was Modern Industrial Estate metro station. PDM is the title sponsor, but not the official name. PDM has used this page for advertisement. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AkshayKakkar (talkcontribs) 05:34, 8 October 2021 (UTC) [reply]

  • Comment. After the nom moved the page to the new target, he removed mention of the old name. Question to AkshayKakkar: wasn't the station known as PDM University Modern Industrial Estate metro station at one time? See image for reference. And it's now known as PDM University Pandit Shree Ram Sharma metro station? See image for reference. Jay (talk) 15:49, 8 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. As mentioned, the nom moved the page on 17 September, two weeks before this RfD, to Pandit Shree Ram Sharma metro station. The nomination is technically malformed (lists the wrong target). 85.67.32.244 (talk) 16:11, 8 October 2021 (UTC) WP:STRIKESOCK -- Tavix (talk) 03:35, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as {{R from former name}}, if the station were known as this, officially or not. We have Emirates Stadium for example, even though "Emirates" is the name of a sponsor, and the stadium goes by other names for some purposes. 85.67.32.244 (talk) 16:09, 8 October 2021 (UTC) WP:STRIKESOCK -- Tavix (talk) 03:35, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thats not how it works for Delhi metro. Title brand gets the rights to put on ads at the metro station. For example Sikanderpur metro station has Bank of baroda as title sponsor [2]. The official name is still Sikanderpur metro station. List of official names can be found here: [3]. Even the audio announcement is Sikanderpur metro station, and not Bank of Baroda Sikander metro station [4]. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AkshayKakkar (talkcontribs) 14:26, 9 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
As per this article, outdoor and indoor advertisement space, painting of the station in a brands’ colour, prefix/ suffix to the existing name of the station are the key areas offered to the licensees. However, the renamed station is not made a part of the Metro’s announcement systems inside trains or at stations. Some of the prominent stations that have been renamed are MG Road, Huda City Centre, Noida City Centre, ITO, Janpath among others. Jay (talk) 15:41, 9 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
As I said, Keep... if the station was known as this, officially or not. See WP:OFFICIALNAME. My !vote was and is a qualified keep; if no evidence can be shown that this name is common, it can be deleted. We still have Ally Pally targeting Alexandra Palace, though that has never been its official name. 85.67.32.244 (talk) 17:11, 9 October 2021 (UTC) WP:STRIKESOCK -- Tavix (talk) 03:35, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment for Deletion since there are as many as 50 metro stations with a title sponsor, but none of them are known with their sponsor name. Even the news articles call them without their sponsors name [5] Akshay (talk) 15:58, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Apart from anything else, the pages were at these titles. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 18:28, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • The bigger discussion that should happen (perhaps at Talk:Delhi Metro) is what should be the outcome for the other re-branded stations in the case they start having redirects. There are 250+ station articles listed in List of Delhi Metro stations and I have not checked to see how many of them have sponsor redirects. Articles with mention of the sponsor name (even though unsourced) are potential sponsor redirects. See Honda 2 Wheelers Delhi University North Campus, Dabur ITO, Wave City Center, etc. The Delhi Metro website has published this advertiser's list where 53 stations and their sponsors are listed under SEMI NAMING/CO-BRANDING. This TOI article mentions Wave Noida City Center, Jagran Vaishali, ONGC Shivaji Stadium, Vodafone Belvedere Towers, IndusInd Bank Cybercity, and Micromax Moulsari Avenue. These are sources enough for inclusion in the respective articles, unlike the current redirect under discussion, where we have only photographic evidence (which is probably good enough for this redirect). Jay (talk) 19:20, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • How often do these sponsors change? I'm certainly inclined to keep, since these are or were valid real-world names for their respective topics. But if sponsorship changes frequently, more often than annually, I could see the possibility of a maintenance headache. --BDD (talk) 22:07, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure that the target is precise. I would presume that there are non-Abrahamic Islamic figures, such as the tomb of Imam Asim, a mud tomb in the Taklamakan Desert, and the Ordam shrine at the mazar of Ali Arslan Khan. (see article for info on the Islamic figures' burial sites). It might be worthwhile to split this out into its own article. — Mikehawk10 (talk) 02:50, 8 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
