Adding a new AfD discussion

Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:

Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|India|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.

There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.

Removing a closed AfD discussion

Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.

Other types of discussions

You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to India. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.

This page fails WP:NLIST, since none of the sources (or any others reviewed in BEFORE search) discuss Indian winners and nominees at the New York Film Critics Circle as a group. Delete and salt. I can't see if it's eligible for a G4, but the sources are spammy and unreliable unbylined WP:NEWSORGINDIA-type articles, so it should be deleted regardless. This article appears to have escaped a CSD G4 on the technicality that the CSD tag was removed not by the page creator but the by editor who moved this page into mainspace. That said, it's previously been deleted under an alternate name (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mohamadadil Asif Malkani) and has been repeatedly deleted.

Since we are now forced into a second AfD, here's the rationale and source analysis. The subject fails WP:GNG and WP:NBIO. Appearing on Shark Tank India does not generate notability. It is also WP:ADMASQ, with WP:PROMO language like Qadri's journey into the world of fragrances began at an early age, driven by his passion for fine aromas and an interest in traditional perfume-making techniques and As a self-made entrepreneur, his journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring business owners looking to break into niche markets. The sources do not support notability. We have:

Unbylined coverage that is unreliable per WP:NEWSORGINDIA ([1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7])
WP:ORGTRIV focused on his company, not on him ([8], [9], [10])
Tabloid journalism ineligible as WP:SIGCOV per WP:SBST ([11])
An apparent piece of WP:SIGCOV ([12]) but on a promotional site that publishes paid articles without disclosure.
An article that does not even mention him ([13])

Additionally, the battle appears to have limited historical significance and is not widely covered in notable sources, making the article's notability questionable. Delete - not sure if the battle ever occurred. In a past version of the article, there were six references, the first two seem unreliable (one mentions the battle was 22 Sikh versus 2,200 Mughals, hardly a major battle) and searching within the Google Books of the last four finds zero mentions of "Wan" as a location (only one total mention of "Wan" in a person's name). Searching Google Scholar and Google News for "battle of Wan" "1726" turns up nothing. Google Books produces false positives or offline books. WP:ALS, no evidence of notability. The beauty pageant organization existed from 1968 to 1975 (lacks factual evidence), with 5 representatives sent to Miss World, two of whom were semi-finalists and one placed as 4th runner-up. While this might be covered in offline sources, given India's success in Miss World, the coverage to support the organization's credibility for Wikipedia is questionable. Delete per WP:ONE EVENT, Illegal conduct and failing WP:NORG. This company is only known for the single event of a legal challenge by its founders against Reuters which published an article the company founders deemed defamatory. There was no media notice of the company before the suit and certainly there will be no further media coverage of the company when the litigation ends as the company is now defunct. Though the sources in the article are WP:RS, most are tertiary sources reporting from the Reuters report not their own original reporting and cannot be substantially relied upon per WP: Tertiary Sources.

This also appears to breach WP: Illegal Conduct which states that “It is possible that an organization that is not itself generally notable will have a number of significant sources discussing its (alleged) illegal conduct. Sources that primarily discuss purely such conduct cannot be used to establish an organization's notability under this guideline”. The company would have zero notability if the sources arising from the alleged hacking operation are taken out. This page has been the target of malicious edits, including the intentional removal of vital information in the guise of policy enforcement, sometimes by blocked sockpuppets (see the talk page for details). Delete, not on the basis of nomination reason because articles are not deleted for WP:NPOV, they are edited and cleaned. And for the proposal that this article constitute libel and should be deleted, that reasoning does not apply because if anyone should sue for libel it should be the news organisations that published the story not Wikipedia that cited those sources. Before search showed that this was an obscure company pre Reuters publication and had nothing that could be used to prove its existence. It is the subsequent litigation which followed that brought it to public attention. I support the argument by Runmastery that if WP:ILLCON is applied to this article, it would not stand. Most of the sources are to the Reuters reporting and the continuing ligation. The alleged victims of the hacking are notable as listed in the Reuters reporting, but the report did not give details of how they were hacked, it is only passing mentions. None of the alleged victims made public complaints of being hacked or filed any lawsuit against the company and no other news organisations reported the hacking other than Reuters. WP:ILLCON is applicable here because the alleged victims were not widely reported by other news organisations. And I see that none of the victim is listed or discussed in this article. Comment: I am not sure if WP:TOOSOON applies to such a big event. We already have a page for the 2030 FIFA World Cup and 2034 FIFA World Cup. It is about coverage from independent sources at least for the announcement of the event, and maybe the ongoing preparations. (e.g. I have now realized that I should probably link "unrecognized" to Politics of India § Registered Unrecognized Political Party (RUPP)) I have now done some mostly-thorough searching through various public and licensed resources that I have access to, and here are the statistics of what I found (though keep in mind that my criteria for what to list and what to merge vs keep separate have been a bit inconsistent):

However, given how much I found about Mohanraj / Mohan Raj, do you think would might be notable enough? If so, I might try to pivot this article into an article about him? The sources I've found are mostly about various litigation he's filed, the false affidavits you mentioned, and a little bit of biographical information. The article I cited from The Week gives the impression of being a short biography of him.

Weak keep. As a former director of IIIM he does not automatically qualify. The staff is about 68 PhD/Dr, with a modest budget of about $0.5M (it goes further in India). Just as a Dean at a university is not automatic, he is not -- but it is a partial notability. In terms of publications his h-factor of 62 is strong, but it is a high citation field. (The 20th person in drug discovery has an h-factor of 118, and it is more an exponential than linear relationship.) The two together just about persuade me that he passes WP:NPROF, the criteria the nom used are not really appropriate. For certain the page needs work.

Comment: I see people bringing up NFF as far as production goes. I want to explain a bit about the requirements for an unreleased film establishing notability. To put it bluntly, production starting is not a sign of notability. The guideline is basically that people should not even consider creating articles for unreleased films unless production has begun. If production has begun then an article might be doable, however the article creator(s) would still need to establish how the production is notable in and of itself. In other words, if the film were to be cancelled today and production ground to a complete and total halt, would the current amount and quality of sourcing be enough to establish notability in the here and now?

The reason this came about is because for a while there Wikipedia has a rather big issue with people creating pages for announced films. No production is guaranteed, so there were quite a few films that were stuck in development hell. Names and companies might be attached or some other level of pre-production done, but it never led to any actual production.

As far as coverage goes, keep in mind that there has to be quite a bit and it has to be in depth. This is where it gets tricky, because marketing companies will flood media outlets with what is essentially the same content over and over again. They may announce a single name or change, but ultimately it's all coming from the same press release or statement. Right now the article's production section is non-existent and the current sourcing in the article is pretty paltry. I'm not saying that the film is absolutely non-notable, just that right now it's not really super convincing that this passes NFILM. I'm just concerned that the arguments for keep here are arguing that production has commenced but aren't really backing it up with sourcing to show where the production is notable. I've expanded it but I'm still a bit uneasy saying that this passes NFILM. Production is completed, but there really wasn't a lot of coverage of the actual production. Most of it was either pre-production announcements or a rehash of pre-production announcements, stating that filming had started. Nobody really talked about the production. Everyone was pretty close mouthed about this. If this were to be an indefinitely shelved film (meaning the actual film was never released and it was used as a tax write-off), then I'm not certain that the current amount of coverage is really enough to establish notability for the movie.

I'm not against the film having an article, so it's not like I'm saying all of this because I'm a deletionist. (I lean more towards inclusion.) It's just that I don't think that the current coverage puts this comfortably out of reach of deletion, if you look at this from the perspective of "if this never releases or gets more coverage". Weak delete. I agree with Reader's analysis above. Completing production doesn't in and of itself show notability, it's just a reasonable indicator that information showing notability likely exists. Here, though, no one has been able to show that is the case, so deletion is warranted. I'm at weak delete since the article certainly is doing no harm; it's not excessively promotional and the essentials of the article clearly are accurate. But it's unreleased, and there's no objective basis to say whether it ever will be, and it's standalone notability is wanting. Delete I can't find anything but interviews for this lady. No independent coverage. She has acted in one TV show, and what looks like an extra(?) in a film. I have done a search (searches from the UK aren't always good these days), I would be happy to re-evaluate my vote if idependent sources can be found.
