Delete - no evidence of notability. If sources are found please ping me. GiantSnowman 08:49, 5 March 2023 (UTC)- Keep- @GiantSnowman:, I found [1], [2], and [3] among more sources. Defiantly also has offline sources, having played 44 fully pro Mexican top flight games in 2000s. Article needs improvement, not deletion. Thanks, Das osmnezz (talk) 09:26, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
- Keep per sources above which show notability. GiantSnowman 16:49, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
- Keep passes GNG.--Ortizesp (talk) 06:50, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- Keep - The 3 sources need added in the profile though, not here..KatoKungLee (talk) 19:46, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- @KatoKungLee:, I listed sources above. Thanks, Das osmnezz (talk) 21:23, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- Keep per sources by Das osmnezz.Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 22:17, 7 March 2023 (UTC)
- Delete Fails GNG. Source 1 is transfer news, source 2 is about him being hired by Progreso de Obregón to promote football and source 3 is about him maybe playing for Pachuca. Dougal18 (talk) 15:36, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
- Delete - Article fails WP:GNG and the sources noted above are the same as what I found in my BEFORE search plus several other trivial items like a match report indicating he scored an own goal. It appears that Martínez was primarily on the fringe of the Pachuca squad, and only started regularly for one-half of a season, so I'm not surprised we couldn't find significant coverage. Jogurney (talk) 17:24, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
- Delete, the sources above are routine transactional news, not SIGCOV. JoelleJay (talk) 18:35, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
- Note also that #1 and #3 are by the same author and so are not separate sources. #2 only contains:
After a long wait, Raúl Martínez, Pachuca's holding midfielder, could reappear in a First Division match.
The last time he lined up was a year and a half ago, against Jaguares de Chiapas. From that day until today, Raúl has only had action in the Second Division branch led by Rubén Ayala. The next Thursday he received the news of training among the headlines.
However, this time he will have the support of his wife and son Santiago, from the stands.- Transactional coverage falls under NOTNEWS:
routine news coverage of announcements, events, sports, or celebrities, while sometimes useful, is not by itself a sufficient basis for inclusion of the subject of that coverage
and is additionally described in ROUTINE:Per Wikipedia policy, routine news coverage of such things as announcements are not sufficient basis for an article. Planned coverage of scheduled events, especially when those involved in the event are also promoting it, is considered to be routine. ... Routine events such as sports matches, film premieres, press conferences etc.
Sports orgs distribute planned announcements of transfers, injuries, etc. to the media (via press releases, press conferences, and interviews) with the intent of self-promotion. JoelleJay (talk) 01:22, 11 March 2023 (UTC)
- Keep Meets WP:BIO with sources presented by Das osmnezz. They're reliable and in-depth enough IMV. SBKSPP (talk) 00:11, 11 March 2023 (UTC)
- Delete Fails WP:GNG. As noted, sources #1 and #3 are both by the same author and thus count as a single source. Source #2 is mostly interview (i.e WP:PRIMARY) with what little left not being enough to be considered significant. Alvaldi (talk) 20:34, 11 March 2023 (UTC)

- Comment - I have just spent an hour doing a WP:HEY and vastly expanded the article with the sources, all of which go into his background. WP:HEY states that it can be "invoked during deletion discussions to point out that an article has been significantly improved since it was nominated for deletion". Defiantly also has offline sources, having played 44 fully pro Mexican top flight games in 2000s as well as many fully pro Mexican second tier games in a career lasting 10+ years.
