Peer review request for Facebook
Hi, if you have time could you please take a look at Facebook and post any suggestions you may have at Wikipedia:Peer review/Facebook/archive3? I'd like to get it to WP:FAC soon but first I'd like a copyedit from people who are not involved with the article, and if you have any content suggestions such as what to keep or remove, I would also appreciate that. Thanks! Gary King (talk) 21:40, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
Dutch Acadie
Thank you for removing the tag. (Red4tribe (talk) 22:09, 1 May 2008 (UTC))
Hello There,
While I agree with the be bold policy of wikipedia, this material has been heavily disputed over several wikipedia pages. The person in question constantly ignores every other person in an agrument and insists s/he is right. With that, after not conceding the agrument with Dutch Acadie, (which by the way would not be its proper name if it was an actually place, which I assure you it wasn't formally) this person then creates an article with information puts directly almost word for word out of another one, except for the part in the other article which states that all dutch claims to Acadia were paper claims and were abandoned before any actual conquest.
So now i am going to ask what exactly should the reason for deletion should have been and if you can help remove this gibberish or not?-Kirkoconnell (talk) 22:11, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
I am going to add that it is the correct name, the book written on it (http://books.google.com/books?id=w4IBAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA127&lpg=PA127&dq=dutch+conquest+acadie&source=web&ots=zjDvps_VJK&sig=DXCnTg6j4iO8S9nlrxjtckWXIOw&hl=en) calls it Acadie. Not Acadia. The Dutch did occupy two French forts, as the article and reference states, not the entire colony. Just FYI the one above me is twisting the story about me. (Red4tribe (talk) 22:16, 1 May 2008 (UTC))
- Oh yes, the famous googlebook link whereby we cannot actually read the book, produced from the university of michigan, the up most authority on Acadia. Well no worries. I'm actually done of this but this page is clearly fucking bullshit to me. Seriously. A dutch guy comes in can invent history on wikipedia, to the benefit of the Dutch (what a surprise), create shit that can and has, on several discussion pages, been discredited and you work to empower him over me, who has asked him repeatedly to keep the information honest. Well I'm cool with that. In four years when the article gets deleted because its fucking nonsense, I'm sure no one will remember. Jesus.-Kirkoconnell (talk) 22:22, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
Watch your tongue. Enough lies have come out. (Red4tribe (talk) 23:45, 1 May 2008 (UTC))

Dutch Acadie 2
I have ahd to rename the Page to Dutch Conquest of Acadie, and it has been tagged for deletion again, could you possibly remove it for me? No one really bothers to listen to what I say. Now they are claiming there is original research, which is of course, an absolute lie. (Red4tribe (talk) 03:06, 3 May 2008 (UTC))
- Nice attempt. -Kirkoconnell (talk) 03:56, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed. (Red4tribe (talk) 00:49, 4 May 2008 (UTC))
Request for Removal
Hello, my name is Harrison Johnson and I along with Kyle Vickers are the director's for K2 Productions. You have a topic on here listed as TEX BRONSON, which continually comes up when a search is done through most search engines. I have already received several e-mails from individuals that had done a search for our new film and kept seeing your site on the first page of the results. I would like for you to remove this entry and the Tex Bronson entry so that it will no longer appear on search engine results for our film and lead actor. Thank you. You can contact me at DerpGuy@hotmail.com—Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.178.110.48 (talk • contribs) 03:10, May 5, 2008 (UTC)
- Do you mean Wikipedia as a whole? If so, the article has already been deleted. If you mean my talk page: 1) I prefer to keep everything here, as it serves as a record; 2) Looking at the search, my page doesn't appear in the Google search results, so keeping it isn't an issue. Good luck with your film! PeterSymonds | talk 03:40, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Admin Coaching
Hey there Peter, I was just reviewing your edits and at first glance, I have to ask what you expect or want from admin coaching? At first glance, it looks as if you might be a prime candidate just to go ahead and run for adminship! Coaching is IMHO for people who are a little weaker candidates and need help getting experience else where and being seen as an admin. You appear to be well respected, active in several areas, involved with XfD's... So am I missing something? Why do you need coaching? I would be more than happy to review your edits in more detail and possibly nominate you now. (You can see my previous nominations at my talk page.)Balloonman (talk) 22:40, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- Wholly positive previous interaction with Peter. A good candidate. Just my 2p. Pedro : Chat 22:44, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

- Sounds like the way forward .... ! Pedro : Chat 23:10, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- We're deciding his fate without his involvement... So let's wait to see why he feels that he needs admin coaching. If he thinks it is something he has to have to pass an RfA, I say we dispel that notion ;-) I think he's ready, so what say you Peter?Balloonman (talk) 23:13, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed. I honestly feel you would be a greater asset with admin rights Peter, but of course it is up to you. If you wish, Balloonman will nominate and I will co-nom. If you are unsure or wish to wait a while no problems, of course. I will be busy tomorrow during the day (I believe you are the same time zone as myself - bank holiday!) but we can move this along at your pace. Pedro : Chat 23:19, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Water/Pedro, go ahead and add your co-noms. Peter, 3 co-noms is about as many as you want, after that it starts to look like your trying to overcome a problem. You might be interested in reading, my essay on how to pass an RfA. Basically what it says is to treat the questions as if you were interviewing for the job. Take them seriously and answer them completely. If you don't know the answer, research it.Balloonman (talk) 04:53, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- One other thing, after Pedro/Water add their co-noms, you will need to transclude the RfA to the RfA page. When you do so, do so at a time that you will be able to keep an eye on the RfA for 2-4 hours. Those first few hours are crucial to some RfA's. You might get asked some questions and you might have some early opposes that need to be addressed. When addressing an oppose, don't get into a long debate (this includes nominators.)Balloonman (talk) 05:22, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- Co-nom added. Pedro : Chat 10:59, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
I just have to say, you thought there was a chance your RfA would be a snowball fail??? ;-)Balloonman (talk) 19:12, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- It's the high quality of the nominations that saved it .... :) Pedro : Chat 19:16, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
I notice you commented on this. It seems theres actually several similar articles on other characters, which I've added to the afd. Some of these have already had attempts at tidying up, but its been done in a slightly inconsistent way. I've added what I found to the afd. I wondered if you wanted to comment further give the afd has expanded since your original comment. --BrucePodger (Lets have a beer) 14:23, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not so sure, I think its better left as one afd in the hope of getting a consistent treatment between them all. I know redirects normally have a slightly different deletion process, but there are times when the rules don't quite fit.
Your RfA
Good luck... I think you should do fine... just remember to pay attention to it today. If anybody asks you a question, treat it seriously. Give complete answers. If the question is vague, explore the issue in more detail.Balloonman (talk) 14:46, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Hello there. Congrats on the admin nomination, looks like you're for it! If you want, I can support your position if you would like. But that's not the main reason. Remember I asked you for advise on the McGill University article? Well now, I've actually done stuff, though AccuratEdit (talk) did a hell lot more than me. Boehm & Princess Louise
I just replaced the photo of Boehm and Princess Louise which you earlier removed. Although you are certainly correct, that it is not necessary to the article, I would argue than it is of considerable interest and well worth keeping. I'm the one who uploaded that photo, and have a good deal of information on its provenance. The identification of the two persons is rather firm. I'll be happy to go into the details, if you're interested. Tim Ross (talk) 21:27, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Editor Review
Thanks for the unexpected review, although the mention about the bot hurt a lot. I never 'admitted' that I was running a bot, because I wasn't. Please read the ER for a longer response. Gary King (talk) 06:09, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- No problem, but again, it was really painful when I was reading your review (which was very glowing) and then came upon that — as the last item, no less. If it makes anyone feel better, I would be happy to deliver the code I used for that incident, but personally, I wish I could put that behind me. If you check my history on Wikipedia, I did nothing productive until after that event; I would consider the promotion of my first Featured list to be the real beginning of my Wikipedia career. Gary King (talk) 06:16, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think that incident had too many opposes on the last RFA, but I will mention something along the lines that I was really interested in contributing to Wikipedia after that first FLC; the biggest issue was brought up by Pedro, who mentioned that I made submissions too quickly to AIV, and I completely agree. I'd like to also mention that everyone at Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of autonomous areas by country were really friendly to me at my first FLC and I have ended up being familiar with those users — you were the first person to ever criticize my work on Wikipedia! (I just realized that I had a bunch of unsuccessful nominations before then... but still. It was a very fun FLC!) Before that FLC, if you check my contributions, the vast majority of them were adding categories to articles because I didn't know what other way I could help contribute to Wikipedia and I was completely oblivious to the fact that there was a lot of things going on that were deeper than the very top layer. Gary King (talk) 06:33, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- No, no! I didn't mean to make you feel bad from my last comment; I was just saying that I still seem to keep in contact with a lot of people from my first FLC, especially even after branching off to FAC and GA and all that :) Gary King (talk) 06:42, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Wilson's Kriminal
Hey Peter how is it going? I am part of the creative staff of Wilson's Kriminal blog. The biography that you have just deleted pertains to a a fictional character who is from Panamenian nationality and is based on Israel. They guy illustrates in a satirical way the situation of many immigrants in multicultural societies and the show aims to promote Israel in another perspective than the one that is traditionally portrayed on the mainstream media. This approach is being done by 3 latin american students from Communications BA of the IDC Herzliya University situated in Israel, who just feel like showing another facet of the israeli situation without getting any money out of it. Wilson Kriminal, is increasingly becoming well known in the Latin American environment and we are looking forward to open our new website on next Sunday, so feel welcome to visit it and you re going to easily notice that is a serious project. We consider that the inclusion of our character under your platform would be really richful to give the charcater a massive dimension and wider recognition, therefore i urge you to please reconsider the removal of our article and let us post our article. Thanks in advance. Alexis —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alexclusive (talk • contribs) 20:13, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi, could you please indefinitely fully protect this page. This should not be edited by someone else, and I don't think that I'll ever have to change it. I don't want to go to WP:RPP for that. Cenarium (talk) 22:50, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey there. If the reason was simply "vandalism" I like you would have declined the request. But this is not just "vandalism". 4chan has been quite a trouble lately (if you are unaware it is a free image board where anyone can post requests, and is generally used be trolls). Recently the requests have been to vandalize different wikipedia pages (including my talk page), and on average we usually get about 70-80 IP's respond and help out the troll in their vandalism quest. The only thing to stop the vandalism is to protect the page for a short amount of time and move on, just thought I would let you know in case you come across something like this in the future. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 23:15, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, don't worry about the full protection it is only what your third day as a admin? We all make silly mistakes, and having the article full protected for a few minutes did not really break anything. :D Tiptoety talk 23:51, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
There's one little snag with Augusta: her territorial designation. Although the present-day city is now called "Kassel", the electorate/landgraviate was "Hesse-Cassel", although *some* people argue for "Hesse-Kassel" on the basis that is now what the city is called. I say move to "Hesse-Cassel" (Landgrave Frederick II, I believe, move there on the basis of a vote). Charles 16:35, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

16May Catherine Deneuve
Im am against war so I def dont want an edit war! What do you suggest? Luke4545 (talk) just keeps reverting the Catherine Deneuve article.
@ 1st, he asserted formating errors. So y not correct those format errors? Instead Luke4545 (talk) just reverts.
In fact if u looks @ his contribs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Luke4545) all he does is go thru wiki & just revert. Y not actually contribute 2 wiki? It is very e z 2 just revert, whereas more work is required to edit. 70.108.119.24 (talk) 18:37, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
- If you're against an edit war, then why did you just make another revert even after being warned? As I recently said in the discussion page on the Catherine Deneuve article, 70.108.119.24 keeps reverting edits without engaging fully in proper discussion. The IP continuously is reverting edits before any resolution/compromise can be reached. I have not made any reversions yet after the warning you (PeterSymonds) issued me, so, I think the same should be expected of the IP as well; however, that IP continues to revert. I have tried to make efforts in discussing the matter, but the IP is seemingly disregarding constructive discussion. Also, please fully check my contributions, and you'll see that I add a lot of content and revert material that can be deemed unconstructive or vandalism. That's what a lot of established users do. Hell, I even earned a barnstar for my contributions to various sports articles, which are a large portion of my edits. The IP's accusations that my edits are profoundly based around just reverting are completely false and baseless.
- By the way, I don't know if you saw my response to your warning on my talk page, but I ask that you see it to understand why I was hoping the Catherine Deneuve article would be semi-protected. Given the fact that the IP ignored the warning, I hope you'll now see the point I was trying to get across in my response to your warning on my talk page. I also hope that I won't actually get blocked for this, because as I said, I have attempted to engage in discussions with the IP, but the IP continues to revert without fully discussing matters first.
- Also, you can go ahead and reply on your own talk page here, as I have it "watched." Plus, I'm sure IP 70.108.119.24 would like to see your response as well, if it happens to come by here later. Thank you for your time and consideration. -- Luke4545 (talk) 20:32, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Red Square Direct Ltd
Hi. I don't see why you have classed my article as blatant advertising. Non-encyclopaedic in its current state, maybe, but did you actually read it? It is anything BUT advertising the company! Please advise on how I can create an article about a nationwide UK company and the way it operates without it being classed as an advert. Red Square Direct
Hi. I get your point regarding the job advert, although I think you may have taken it out of context! I had put that there as an example of the type of advert that this group of companies uses to recruit. Whilst there are many different company names, the adverts are always the same. I was careful to ensure that the advert example did not include the company name, nor the contact details, or even the location of the job. If it is this part of the article that is contentious, please remove it. Please also remove the link to the company website if required. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Scotty99 (talk • contribs) 12:12, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
Hi. Thanks for the tip. Does that mean that you are going to undelete it? My work has plenty of non-trivial sources. I do not know where you come from, but in the UK "Companies House" is the government organisation that lists information such as company directors, filed acounts etc. All of the information that I have included with regards to company directors, other interests etc is from there. I cannot link directly as they like you to pay to obtain that information via the web(or go to their offices and get it for free).
I can't imagine that the "ford motor company" article was written in one day, nor by a single person. You have to start somewhere, and if my article is light on content, that's because I haven't finished it yet. Indeed, I went off to make a cup of coffee after saving it, and I was already being told it would be deleted! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Scotty99 (talk • contribs) 12:48, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
WP:HAU has a new format
Due to popular demand, HAU has a new look. Since the changes are so dramatic, I may have made some mistakes when translating the data. Please take a look at WP:HAU/EU and make sure your checkmarks are in the right place and feel free to add or remove some. There is a new feature, SoxBot V, a recently approved bot, automatically updates your online/offline status based on the length of time since your last edit. To allow SoxBot V to do this, you'll need to copy [[Category:Wikipedians who use StatusBot]] to your userpage. Obviously you are not required to add this to your userpage, however, without this, your status will always be "offline" at HAU. Thanks. Useight (talk) 17:20, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

You are an active contributer to the help desk and I was wondering. When would be a good time to mark a section resolved? Should it be when the situation is completed or when the user who posted the request says it's been done? Please reply on my talk page. Regards, Ryan Cross (talk) 03:54, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'v just started contributing to the help desk about a week ago. I really just mark sections resolved when the requester says thanks, or anything similar. I see that common sense is the right decision. Thank you. By the way, do you adopt/admin coach? Again, answer on my talk page. --Ryan Cross (talk) 04:09, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

explanation
Sorry for districting you. I’m a sincere contributor of Wikipedia here. I posted the section last week and another user suddenly kept deleting the article today. The user seems obsessively trying to hide any criticism of the singer, even though all the material and news had supported the article. Even CNN had once reported it. I admit that using the “reverting” function is not totally appropriate. Sorry. But I just can’t stand for people who are trying to hide some obvious true just because they think it is not all-positive and something to be proud of. I have some more references here, but I don’t want to be warned again. So I’m leaving them here and let you decide whether the news reports should be shown in the page. For those who are hardcore admirers of someone, it is foolish to ignore the true which may be unpleasant, and it is naive to equate erasing an article on Wikipedia to erasing a real unpleasant history of someone.

Protection of Ringmail
Hello, you recently investigated and declined my request for page protection of the article ringmail. Thanks for looking into it but I had a question about your stated reasoning behind that decision: why do you regard a request for protection in response to several years of past anonymous edits as a request for pre-emptive protection? I believe that edits attempting to force a particular POV qualify as vandalism and if so this vandalism by anonymous IPs (and some by registered users too) has been occurring for quite some time, since long before I ever started working on that page.
I mentioned the talk page discussion of modern English vs. Victorian English vs. French scholarship - but that's not a discussion I was involved in, those were discussions that occurred years ago.
If you still think this isn't a case that warrants semi-protection I'm fine with that, I just wanted to make sure you had noticed that this has been going on for years and that I'm just the messenger here. --❨Ṩtruthious ℬandersnatch❩ 22:53, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, thank you for clearing that up. I guess I did have a misunderstanding - I'd gotten the impression over the years that full protection and semi-protection were partly available for preventing vandalism and anonymous vandalism respectively, I did not realize that they are primarily for dealing with edit wars. Thanks again for taking a look at that article. --❨Ṩtruthious ℬandersnatch❩ 00:48, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Catherine Deneuve (part two)
Hey, I'm just following up with you regarding the recent dispute over the Catherine Deneuve article. It's been past two days since your two-day discussion proposal; thus, I wanted to inquire as to the next step in this process. IP 70.108.119.24 (talk) hasn't replied to the response I left several days ago in the article's discussion page, even though it has made several edits in other articles since then (and yes, I realize that someone else could have made those edits under the same IP, but I thought I'd point that out anyway). Also, as far as my response goes in the article's talk page, I hope you were now able to understand my arguments regarding the dispute. I apologize if that response was rather long, but I wanted to make sure that there were no misunderstandings. You stated that you would open a request for comment case if no agreement was reached within that two-day discussion proposal; so, I'm wondering if you still plan on doing that, or what the next step you suggest/plan on taking. If you do decide to open a request for comment case, then please be aware that the two versions disputed are:
- [2] This one by 70.108.119.24 (talk).
AND
- [3] This one by me.
By the way, as I stated in the discussion page (which I'll simply copy and paste), I noticed a couple of users edited the article since the last reversion by 70.108.119.24 (talk), and now the "Career" heading is missing after the first paragraph. The version [4] as of this posting is almost like the version before this whole ordeal began; the exceptions being the first paragraph, along with the "Career" heading missing. The removal of the "Career" heading may have been mistake, given that it was the user Smartissexy (talk) who made an edit that mirrored that previous version, but added a near-duplicate of the first paragraph.[5] The near-duplicate appeared to look much like the first paragraph that I edited when I was attempting to offer a compromise to this whole ordeal.[6]
Anyway, if you want, you can reply back in your talk page here, as I have it "watched." -- Luke4545 (talk) 22:54, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi Peter - I'm afraid that I've got to object to your closure of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Piha Surf Life Saving Club. You closed the discussion as a merge, and did the merge, despite the fact that all but one of the !votes to merge were made before the article was considerably expanded - an expansion which I intended to continue today. Even as it stands, you ended up "merging" an article of 1700 bytes into one of just 500 - if anything, a reverse merge would have been far more appropriate. Given that the article was still in the process of expansion and had been significantly altered since the original comments to merge (at which time it was only some 600 bytes in length), it would have been far more appropriate to wait until the editors who made those comments had been contacted to see whether theyir opinion on the article had been changed by the recent additions - something which I intended to do after further changes to the article today (which increased the size of the article by another 1200 bytes). Had the two articles remained separate, the one on the surf club would have now been six times the size of the one on the television series and clearly indicated the reasons why it was viable as a separate article. As such, an unmerger is perhaps appropriate. Grutness...wha? 01:06, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks - both for your willingness to reconsider and for your speedy response! As I noted in the AfD, I'm house-sitting, so don't have all my sources available at the moment, otherwise I would have expanded this sooner, but I'm sure there's plenty more than can be added to the article. We already had a RFC on the same topic. Possibly due to complexity of the topic only 2 responses came in. It is included in reaching above consensus. The consensus is based on valid citations provided by the majority.Naadapriya (talk) 20:48, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
No MfD
Hello. I saw you wre recently discussing my MfD. I want to have something in the project namespace. Can you give me some advice? I was thinking of a type of newsletter. Have you any ideas? We could do it together? Maybe a type of award? SimpsonsFan08 talk Sign Here Please and get Award 21:14, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
Ideas
I was wondering if you have any ideas. When will you be on Wikipedia tomorrow? SimpsonsFan08 talk Sign Here Please and get Award 21:29, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- What about something like: WikiMoney, WikiVouchers. As you know, I had the idea for a featured userpage. We could do another type of WikiDesign club, specialising in userpages. Similar to WP:UPDC and the User Page WikiProject, I know. SimpsonsFan08 talk Sign Here Please and get Award 21:32, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

- IDEA! How about, we give out guides and also put a form so users can request our attention. We could be upops (Userpage Operators and Designers) (funny :)). Like:
User name: Example Design Userpage: Y/N Design Usertalk: Y/N Colours (max 4): Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Birth Date (optional): 2008 BC Real Name (optional): Mr. E. Xample. ... etc...

WikiDesign
Hello, User:Daniel and I have expressed concerns about the WikiDesign project that you're attached to through your adoptee. Could you look at our concerns at User_talk:Daniel#Design_page and User talk:SimpsonsFan08/WikiDesign#Why?? We're concerned that this looks a lot like the shops that were deleted half a year ago and that it duplicates a lot of the functions of other projects. Replying here, or at the WD talk page would be fine. Thanks, Metros (talk) 15:24, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

editor347 is dave zirin and he is the one editing his own wikipedia page. For years he defended barry bonds against accusations of steroids, now that he is forced to eat crow because bonds admitted that he took, although unknowingly, the "clear", he refuses to admit he was wrong. He also refuses to answer the question of whether or not he thinks barry bonds has used steroids. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 119.94.3.120 (talk) 07:41, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for protecting my page. I am not Dave Zirin, and, funny enough, I actually think Barry Bonds took steroids (testimony under oath) -- But that is neither here nor there -- This user will not allow objective changes to the Dave Zirin page but wants to use it as a soapbox.

- Yes, but the 'heads' you left, where you only presented only one side of the argument (specifically your side), could be considered campaigning. I'm yielding to the consensus that was formed, but I have to admit that I have deep concerns regarding your approach in this matter. As a person on the other side of the debate, I felt that the wording of your message put those who disagreed with you at a distinct disadvantage. I'm absolutely sure you didn't mean any harm or mean to disenfranchise others, as you seem to be a very upfront guy. I'm just letting you know in the form of (I hope) constructive feedback so that this may be avoided in the future. -- ShinmaWa(talk) 02:59, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

MusicOMH.com
Hi, I've only just noticed that this longstanding article has recently been deleted - I was not even aware that it had been flagged, as the discussion period and subsequent deletion appears to have been unusually hasty.
The reason given was lack of notability, however this UK based website is a highly regarded and much consulted (and quoted) independent professional music review site with over 68000 google entries, and an Alexa traffic ranking of 79,991.[7] It certainly meets the notability criteria. (I doubt whether the Royal Opera House would bother including any press review on their official website if it were not from a notable and well respected source! [8]) There are also numerous references and links to it in music articles here on Wikipedia. I would suggest that it would be far better to reinstate this page and attempt to improve the article with better citations rather than delete it completely. Jud (talk) 02:06, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, when I saw that I had been edited, I did not know what had been changed. 'Just the growing pains of a new user. I guess. I am working with a well known doctor-microbiologist who wants to share information about the spread of drug resistance through wastewater and sludge. We would like to make links between reclaimed wastewater and staphyloccus aureas(MRSA), stps and hiv/aids in women in Africa, and other related pages. Cross-Namespace Redirect
Wikipedia Signpost and Wikipedia Weekly are in the project namespace. I don't think one redirect can do a lot of harm. With the redirect, it classes the project as Wikipedia-related, i think. The Thing About Jane Spring
On 25 May 2008, you closed the AfD for The Thing About Jane Spring as "delete" (AfD link). Let me state first that I don't disagree with your closure: the discussion was unanimous, the article was written in a promotional tone, and I'm fairly certain that it contained copyright violations (substantial portions of it seemed to have been copy-pasted without attribution).
Having heard about the book (but never read it), I had bookmarked the AfD several days ago. However, I didn't have the opportunity to return to it until after it had been closed. So, I've written a new article from scratch (I didn't want to use the text of the old one due to the copyright issues), incorporating sources that I found using LexisNexis. The article is located at a subpage of my user page: User:Black Falcon/Sandbox/The Thing About Jane Spring.
Writing about fiction is definitely not my forte, so the draft version may be awkward or problematic in certain spots, but I think it's good enough to qualify for inclusion in the mainspace. While the content of the article is different enough that it is ineligible for speedy deletion under criterion G4, I wanted to check with you before moving it to the mainspace (to get your opinion and as a courtesy notice, since you closed the discussion). What do you think? Thanks, –Black Falcon (Talk) 03:42, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your comments; I've moved the article to the mainspace and will nominate a hook for DYK. I admit I may have overdone the sourcing, especially in the plot summary. ;) It's mostly due to the fact that I haven't actually read the book and could only go by what various reviewers had written. Cheers, –Black Falcon (Talk) 23:36, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Does my article meet Wiki's specs?
Hey Peter, thanks again for your help with the citations (I came over to the IRC chat and you were the one that helped me). I've heard from a couple of my classmates their Wiki articles were deleted, including my group partner who was doing Higher education in the Yukon. I was wondering what Wiki's policy is on classes doing Wiki projects. I'm also wondering if my Wiki article Higher Education in British Columbia meets Wiki's specs and whether I can expect it to be deleted. I've been saving every edit, but even so just wanted to know if there were things I should be doing to make it less likely to be deleted, at least until after the professor has graded the article! (Dawnalee8 (talk) 12:57, 31 May 2008 (UTC))
Okay what do I do when I am done tinkering with my article and want to move it back to where it was?
Hey again Peter, thanks for the advice how to continue working on my Higher Education in British Columbia article without worry from the "deletionists." When I am done, how do I move it back to the page I had before? Do I do another copy and paste in the Edit this page?(Dawnalee8 (talk) 13:46, 31 May 2008 (UTC))
