Grand Theft Auto
Yes, if the article is written well. I assume you mean games like The Getaway. If you plan on writing the article yourself, try taking a look at some of the other list articles on wikipedia. Just so you have the best chance of the article not getting deleted. I'm going offline now, if you have a follow up question, it will be answered tomorrow. Thank you and have a nice day! Images
Doing a good job getting those images up, well done. Problem here is though that when giving your rationale for fair use of the image, saying you got it from Google Images won't cut it. That only gives us info on what means you got it through, not where you went to get it seeing as Google doesn't host the images but some other site.
When uploading in future, please get the URL for the website you get the image from, not Google Images. I can't push this enough, even with the rationales I give to your images once you've uploaded them, it's still no good if where it came from remains a mystery and not everyone has the time or inclination to search again for where you got the images. Seeing as writing up good descriptions seems to be an issue for you, you may want to try FURME, a great little tool for adding the FUR to images. Keep up the good work and if you're in need of any help, just come ask me on my talkpage because I think you'll make an awesome editor given the right knowledge and guidance and I'd like to help you out. treelo talk 10:19, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
It was not my intent to delete the images from Ed, Edd n Eddy. I thought all I had done was change the last aired date. I did not realize I was still on a page back in the history when I made the edit, which reverted all edits made after that. -- Elaich talk 13:31, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, but it has to actually air before it can be published here. Otherwise, it can only be stated as "scheduled to be aired." We can not publish anything that is "future" unless we specifically state that it is "future", and as such, is scheduled but not yet fact. It is not a fact until it actually happens. -- Elaich talk 06:01, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
Suggestion...
You can use the preview button, right at the bottom of the text, so you don't need to keep saving and re-editing. Yngvarr (c) 23:36, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- Good idea. I was trying out signatures and I forgot I could use the "preview" button. Paper Luigi 23:38, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- Also, I just saw your new signature on your latest posting at Talk:Ed, Edd n Eddy. Your sig links to User:Paper Luigi, which is still a redlink. When I clicked on it, I was presented with the create this page box. You might want to make User:Paper Luigi, or point your signature to User Talk:Paper Luigi. Myself, I just redirect my User:Yngvarr to my User Talk:Yngvarr. Just something to consider. Yngvarr (c) 22:56, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- Done! Thank you! Paper Luigi 23:33, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Yup, I'm familiar with that one, and normally see it used to move the current images, and get noted in the edit summary as to the reason for the change.
So, while I agree that the file name is bad, you edit didn't indicate that was your resoning.
And to be, even with an edit summary akin to "Image changed to a les cryptic file name.", there were 3 other issues:
- Changing the image from the XBox to PS2 tradedress. The game was released without being tied to a specific platform. Any of the general release covers work equally. Since there was one already there, replacing it with the PS2 box isn't necessary, and could be seen as an excercise in preference.
- Image size in the infobox. The templat page gives a max size of 252px. This is so the template isn't pushed over size. Using 256 does this. Also keep in mind this is a max, the image does not have to meet or exceed it if it does the job of presenting the topic.
- File size. General image guidelines are that the image shouldn't be much larger, if larger at all, than where it's going to be used. For an infobox, that would run 250 (252 in this case) to 300. 350 is larger than it needs to be. (And in this instance there isn't anything in the box art that requires larger detail for commentary in the article.)
I notice that you've reverted while I've been typing this up. Fair enough, and I can see where you're coming from. Keep in mind points 2 and 3 from above though, and be aware that the image is likely to get some legitimate downsizing.

- hrm...
- Then it looks like {{Infobox VG}} should be revisited — if VGP has effectively moved the size up, then then the template doc should be fixed to reflect that. Otherwise there are going to be cases where either individual articles will be going back and forth, or an industrious editor is going to start going through and "fixing" articles one by one.
- As for the file size (and to an extent the infobox image size), just because other images are falling outside the guidelines doesn't make it right, nor protect a particular image. All it means is that the particular image and the others need to be fixed. That is unless the VGP steps up and adds a guideline like "For purposes of the infoboxes, the maximum reasonable upload size for an image is 350px across." That may draw flack from some, but at least it would be threshold to prevent truly obnoxious uploads (500+ across).

- I dropped a not on the template talk page. Most times the infobox templates get protected to prevent rampant tinkering in lieu of discussions. - J Greb (talk) 23:44, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

N64 list of games
Hi I saw you helped to go through and edit the # Players on the List of Nintendo 64 games page and wanted to mention that someone tried to delete it and the alternate titles column, while the alternate titles column, was sort of voted in, I thought you might wish to give you opinion as to the # of players column being included, I feel it is useful but will leave that up to what the visitors to that page think. I quick failed the GA nomination for Dexter's Laboratory. There are almost no sources in the article, and the intro is too short. A good article must have reliable sources for... just about everything. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells • Otter chirps • HELP) 18:58, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Hum! Why did you do that? I know it is a big day for him tomorrow (wow already 50 years-old) but I wouldn't done that. Although I will be nice and just make an advisory for this time although not sure if others would have been as nice though. --JForget 00:55, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice
Hi,
As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.
We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.
You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Merger of WikiProject Free Software and WikiProject Software
Greetings, I have made a proposal for the merger of WikiProject Free Software and WikiProject Software here. I invite you for your valuable comments in the discussion. Sources
You added a source to the PPG. Just FYI, this is going to be considered a non-reliable source. (RowdyRuff.net is a fan site. The site is not an official site of the PowerPuff Girls.). I'm not beating you over the head, and I won't revert you. I'm just tossing this out to you to help you with the labyrinth of policy, guidelines and bureaucracy which Wikipedia is...
