Spelling Freak

I am the spelling freak. Just as much as I am the "plot is to long you are telling me the whole movie" freak as well. My knowledge varies from subjects. But most of my knowledge is based upon my opinions so I won't be creating any articles. Better get busy before I get yelled at.

Hover chair

Hi CR – sounds interesting. If it meets the notability (google hits) criteria and extends to a sizeable stub, my feeling is it should be safe enough. Is this your thinking? There's nothing on wikipedia, and googling hover chair gets at least this[1] and (air) floating chair is suggested here[[2]] and here[3]. If it's a concept chair so far, you could have a section with a couple of designer names and about its inspirational science fiction forebears. Julia Rossi (talk) 03:52, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

signing your posts

When on talk pages or on RD, you almost always appear to use this formula:

This is a very confusing forumla. You should always avoid trying to sign your posts multiple times. Anyways, it would be better if you simply put the five tildes at the end of posts and then avoid inserting anything else there. Re ghostly logger – that's spooky and upsetting for you. I read that thread and it didn't have your "sound" about it. Best thing is to go to an admin to find out what to do about it. Yes, I know that it's great and all, being able to ask questions and get answers and all what, but could you please try to ask straightforward questions instead of rhetorical/thought-provoking ones? Morrowind

Hi there, I won't have a lot of time because I have a busy period coming up at work, but I'd be willing to swap a few lines on Morrowind occasionally. You really should hop around and look at tree stumps. There are many ways to get to Rome and depending on what character statistics you chose you may want to go to Athens instead :-). Some race to the city with that siltrider and find the guy to hand your papers to. The city also offers opportunities for buying stuff. Others prefer to stick around the village and the lake until they can do real damage. The cave entrance is manageable after you've gotten a bit of exercise and maybe found a better weapon. It will give you a place to crash and recover if you stay near the entrance. Deeper down there are nasties. You do know that you need to "sleep" to keep your strength up / recuperate? Good luck. Dear Cardinal Raven, now that I've answered one of your queries, I'd like to share what's on my mind. While I am willing to accept in good faith the numerous queries you post to the Reference Desks, I would kindly suggest that you:

• Remember this is an encyclopedia oriented towards factual content, and matters of a speculative nature are better directed towards Talk pages with like-minded editors, or Internet forums geared for that sort of discussion.
• Kindly consider compressing the format of the closing salutation on your queries so they don't, like this one, spread out over eight lines on these generally crowded screens, requiring us all to do a lot of [excessive] scrolling.

Whilst CR is taking 6-8 lines more than the average signature, and repeating that annoying signature four times in a single thread ... I could do with it toning down a lot. Indeed, why not just sign like the rest of us - your name, at the end of the last sentence. But you forgot to cite your sources in this answer and this answer, while this answer appears to be a misunderstanding of the source and this one insults the questioner without attempting an answer. I couldn't find any of your recent answers at the reference desk that provided a correct, referenced answer to a question. Please don't reply with anything you already said in this conversation, when I asked you to endeavor to find the correct answers in resources rather than relying on your own knowledge, but instead, remember to look up answers, since you know that your own prior knowledge isn't always accurate. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 21:38, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

To give you some more feedback, I'm afraid this answer has issues. Leaving aside the poor formatting (links not working, redundant blank lines), the content of the answer is at best dubious. The issue of Women and Islam is complex and should not be reduced to "believes woman aren't part of society". Even leaving aside the phrasing, "Woman in history were only viewed as property" is dubious, reducing a vast mass of complexity and difference into a dull inaccurate generalisation. You admit that you are unsure of the connection between the "facts" you adduce and the sporting situation. And you provide links to a website talking about women's sporting values, and their differences with me, here (note, this is a more reasonable way to format a link to an external website), and to a paper on "an expectancy-value approach to understanding women's participation in a male-defined sport", which I admit is slightly more on topic. You then congratulate yourself on answering the question correctly, when you did no such thing. I am impressed with the fact that you did some research and sought to provide citations for your answers, as FisherQueen urged you to do. I think your answer, however, falls way short of the mark. I encourage you to seek to answer questions only when you are certain you have a mastery of the subject, and not merely to sate your desire to contribute. Werewolves

Dear Cardinal Raven,

A while ago, you asked about the rules for werewolves, regarding the full moon, silver bullets, etc.

Well, there's a lot of folklore out there concerning werewolves and shapeshifters, but what we've come to think of as "werewolf rules" were entirely invented byCurt Siodmak, the German-American screenwriter of the Universal Studios[[5]] horror movie The Wolfman.

Now, apart from that, I am sorry to see that you are sad about the reactions to your postings on the reference board. It's true that sometimes you post when you really don't have information-- you give your interpretation/opinion.

However, often this gives an interesting point of view, certainly an individual one, which interests me.

Cardinal, I hope you'll continue to post on the reference board, perhaps more prudently.
