StudiesWorld (talk) 19:22, 7 July 2019 (UTC)Looking for work?
editHi BennyOnTheLoose - I hope you are well. If you are interested in creating some more cue sports bios on women, I've got a few that I'd suggest - All of those on this list: List of WPA World Nine-ball champions are notable, such as Vivian Villarreal, Chen Siming, Liu Hsin-mei and Bi Zhu Qing. http://propool.info/ is a good source, as is AZBilliards, which is subscription based, but I have an honorary subscription for. This also includes any winners of the girls/boys/wheelchair events.
I am planning on doing some women's tournament/series articles, such as the Women's Euro Tour and the WPBA Tour, but I'm a bit burned out with creating bios for players (I must have done at least 150). There's also players like Ana Gradisnik, Caroline Roos, Line Kjorsvik, Natalia Seroshtan, Ana MazhirinaMonica Webb, Martine Christiansen and Charlotte Sorensen who all have more than one win on the Euro Tour. Let me know if you are interested in making any of these. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 11:22, 30 July 2019 (UTC)
- @Lee Vilenski: Yes, hope you're well too, I'm happy to help. I'm on holiday for a week from 1 August, but I'll try to have a look at Vivian Villarreal, Chen Siming, and Liu Hsin-mei for now. I'm also hoping to dig up a bit more on the women's professional snooker championship in the 1930's and 1940's - I've got a few old, brief, newspaper and pictorial sources, but not enough for articles yet. BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 12:35, 30 July 2019 (UTC)
- No worries. No rush, I just thought I'd highlight them (as I thought you'd be interested). I suspect it might be difficult, but checking through the articles on the mens snooker championship articles might give some ideas for reference places. I know The Times covered these events, as would have local press (dependent on venue), globalsnookercentre.co.uk has some info, but you'd have to look through the archives. When was the competition founded? Is it the same competition as the World Women's Snooker Championship? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 13:08, 30 July 2019 (UTC)

Cue sports redlink lists
editHi Benny,
Not sure if you watchlist the cue sports talk page, but I thought you might find the links I placed there helpful. It's at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Cue sports/Archive 1#Missing players lists. There's a load of players and links to foreign language articles for individual players. Might be worth a peruse. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 12:40, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks Lee Vilenski, and belated congratulations on your marriage! I'll check that list out. My next targets are improving the world billiards championship article, articles for all world billiards champions, and improving Ng On-yee. BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 08:25, 1 November 2019 (UTC)
- That english billiards, or carrom? I would recommend WP:CXT, as there are lots of information on the german wikipedia (that's where I got most of the pool BLPs from. [1] might be a good place to start), and some for carrom on fr.wiki. (such as at [2].) Now the wikicup is over, I can put some more work into the background (like templates, and new articles). Women's snooker
editHi, I'm hoping you can clear up some confusion for me. I was planning to add achievement boxes similar to Reanne Evans#Achievements for some of the female snooker players. Mandy Fisher#Career Highlights show she won the 1980 Pontins Women's Champion and Sue Foster as being the 1983 Women's World Snooker Championship - sponsored by Pontins. However, the Template:World Women's Snooker Championship and Template:World Women's Snooker champions show Sue Foster as the 1983 winner but 1980's winner as Lesley McIlrath as also shown on 1980 Women's World Open (snooker) at Warners Sinah Warren Holiday Camp, Hayling Island, sponsored by Guinness. So what was the "Pontins Women's Champion" competition that Fisher won in 1980? --The Vintage Feminist (talk) 02:26, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, The Vintage Feminist. The Pontins championships for women ran alongside some of the Pontins Open events and were not world championships. I don't think we have those women's tournaments on Wikipedia at the moment - I'll see if I've got the sources to add them in. You may find this a useful resource for some past results going back to 1983 - e.g. see Mandy Fisher. Let me know if there's anything I can help with. Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 11:26, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
Pontin's Women's Championships 1977 (first event) to 1984. (Events after 1984 still to be added):
Year | Venue | Winner | Runner-up | Final score | Ref. | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1977 | Prestatyn | Agnes Davies | Sue Foster | 3–1 | [1] | |
1978 | Prestatyn | Ann Johnson | Sue Foster | 3-1 | [1] | |
1979 | Prestatyn | Maureen Baynton | Agnes Davies | 3-0 | [1] | |
1980 | Prestatyn | Mandy Fisher | Sian Newbury | 3–2 | [1] | |
1980 | Camber Sands | A. Burns | L. Kellerer | 3–1 | [1] | |
1981 | Prestatyn | Lesley McIlrath | J. Hanlon | 3–0 | [1] | |
1982 | Prestatyn | Agnes Davies | Sue Foster | 3–0 | [1] | |
1983 | Prestatyn | Sue Foster | Grace Nakamura | 3–1 | [1] | |
1983 | Brean Sands | 1983 Women's World Snooker Championship | ||||
1984 | Prestatyn | Julie Dowen | L. Lucas | 3–2 | [1] | |
1985 | Prestatyn | Allison Fisher | A. Jones | 3–0 | [1] | |
1986 | Prestatyn | Allison Fisher | Caroline Walch | 3–0 | [1] | |
1987 | Prestatyn | Stacey Hillyard | Caroline Walch | 3–1 | [2] | |
1988 | Prestatyn | Allison Fisher | Ann-Marie Farren | 4–1 | [3] | |
1989 | Prestatyn | Ann-Marie Farren | Tessa Davidson | 3–0 | [4] | |
1990 | Prestatyn | Stacey Hillyard | Georgina Aplin | 3–0 | [5] | |
1991 | Prestatyn | Tessa Davidson | Ann-Marie Farren | 4–2 | [6][7] | |
1992 | Prestatyn | Allison Fisher | Ann-Marie Farren | 3–1 | [8] | |
1993 | Prestatyn | Allison Fisher | Karen Corr | 4–3 | [9] | |
1994 | Prestatyn | Karen Corr | Lisa Quick | 4–1 | [10] |
- So Sue Foster won the Pontins 1983 Women's World Snooker Championship beating Maureen Baynton 8-5 in the final and also won Pontins 1983 championship for women beating Grace Nakamura 3–1 which was not a world championship. I think that was where I was getting lost. Thanks. --The Vintage Feminist (talk) 16:33, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

Missing match
editCongrats on finding an unknown World Championship match. Does't happen every day. Nigej (talk) 09:06, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
- I was similarly impressed. I had seen a match in the 1954 NoTW tournament with the two when I was searching for sources, but overlooked it. Clearly a keen eye! Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 09:15, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks Nigej and Lee Vilenski - the May article with the draw was a lucky find. If I'd filtered the search by month I wouldn't have seen it, and then would have had no reason to search for the players' names together in articles. Makes my paid subscription to the British Newspaper Archive worthwhile! Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 10:32, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted
editHi BennyOnTheLoose. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:
- Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
- If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
- Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. signed, Rosguill talk 18:44, 24 May 2022 (UTC)

WikiCup 2022 July newsletter
editThe third round of the 2022 WikiCup has now come to an end. Each of the sixteen contestants who made it into the fourth round had at least 180 points, which is a lower figure than last year when 294 points were needed to progress to round 4. Our top scorers in round 3 were:
- BennyOnTheLoose, with 746 points, a tally built both on snooker and other sports topics, and on more general subjects.
- Bloom6132, with 683 points, garnered mostly from "In the news" items and related DYKs.
- Sammi Brie, with 527, from a variety of submissions related to radio and television stations.
Between them contestants achieved 5 featured articles, 4 featured lists, 51 good articles, 149 DYK entries, 68 ITN entries, and 109 good article reviews. As we enter the fourth round, remember that any content promoted after the end of round 3 but before the start of round 4 can be claimed in round 4. Please also remember that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them. When doing GARs, please make sure that you check that all the GA criteria are fully met. Please also remember that all submissions must meet core Wikipedia policies, regardless of the review process.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is a good article nomination, a featured process, or anything else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! editWikiCup 2022 November newsletter
editThe 2022 WikiCup has drawn to a close with the final round going down to the wire. The 2022 champion is
- Lee Vilenski (1752 points), who won in 2020 and was runner up in both 2019 and last year. In the final round he achieved 3 FAs and 15 GAs, mostly on cue sports. He was closely followed by
- Bloom6132 (1732), who specialised in "In the news" items and DYKs, and who has reached the final round of the Cup for the past three years. Next was
- BennyOnTheLoose (1238), another cue sports enthusiast, also interested in songs, followed by
- Muboshgu (1082), an "In the news" contributor, a seasoned contestant who first took part in the Cup ten years ago. Other finalists were
- Sammi Brie (930), who scored with a featured article, good articles and DYKs on TV and radio stations,
- Kavyansh.Singh (370), who created various articles on famous Americans, including an FA on Louis H. Bean, famed for his prediction of election outcomes. Next was
- PCN02WPS (292), who scored with good articles and DYKs on sporting and other topics and
- Z1720 (25) who had DYKs on various topics including historic Canadians.
During the WikiCup, contestants achieved 37 featured articles, 349 good articles, 360 featured article reviews, 683 good article reviews and 480 In the news items, so Wikipedia has benefited greatly from the activities of WikiCup competitors. Well done everyone! All those who reached the final round will receive awards and the following special awards will be made, based on high performance in particular areas of content creation and review. So that the finalists do not have an undue advantage, these prizes are awarded to the competitor who scored the highest in any particular field in a single round, or the overall leader in this field.
- Lee Vilenski wins the featured article prize, for a total of 6 FAs during the course of the competition and 3 in the final round.
- Kavyansh.Singh wins the featured list prize, for 3 FLs in round 2.
- Adam Cuerden wins the featured picture prize, for 39 FPs during the competition.
- Z1720 wins the featured article reviewer prize, for 35 FARs in round 4.
- Epicgenius wins the good article prize, for 32 GAs in round 1.
- SounderBruce wins the featured topic prize, for 4 FT articles in round 1.
- Lee Vilenski wins the good topic prize, for 34 GT articles in round 5.
- Sammi Brie wins the good article reviewer prize, for 71 GARs overall.
- Sammi Brie wins the Did you know prize, for 30 DYKs in round 3 and 106 overall.
- Bloom6132 wins the In the news prize, for 106 ITNs in round 5 and 289 overall.
Next year's competition will begin on 1 January and possible changes to the rules and scoring are being discussed on the discussion page. You are invited to sign up to take part in the contest; the WikiCup is open to all Wikipedians, both novices and experienced editors, and we hope to have a good turnout for the 2023 competition. WikiCup 2023 March newsletter
editSo ends the first round of the 2023 WikiCup. Everyone with a positive score moved on to Round 2, with 54 contestants qualifying. The top scorers in Round 1 were:
- Unlimitedlead with 1205 points, a WikiCup newcomer, led the field with two featured articles on historical figures and several featured article candidate reviews.
- Epicgenius was in second place with 789 points; a seasoned WikiCup competitor he specialises in buildings and locations in New York.
- FrB.TG was in third place with 625 points, garnered from a featured article on a filmmaker which qualified for an impressive number of bonus points.
- TheJoebro64, another WikiCup newcomer, came next with 600 points gained from two featured articles on video games.
- Iazyges was in fifth place with 532 points, from two featured articles on classical history.
The top sixteen contestants at the end of Round 1 had all scored over 300 points; these included LunaEatsTuna, Thebiguglyalien, Sammi Brie, Trainsandotherthings, Lee Vilenski, Juxlos, Unexpectedlydian, SounderBruce, Kosack, BennyOnTheLoose and PCN02WPS. It was a high-scoring start to the competition.
These contestants, like all the others, now have to start again from scratch. The first round finished on February 26. Remember that any content promoted after that date but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Some contestants made claims before the new submissions pages were set up, and they will need to resubmit them. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed.
If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Sturmvogel 66 and Cwmhiraeth. editI saw you're about to create a PR for Josette Simon; did you realize that her PR agent is on Wikipedia? TomDale90 is his user name. I mention it because he might have access to sources or information that you could find useful. Might even be worth asking him (or her) to review the article and see if they see any errors or omissions, though of course the risk is that they'll ask for something against policy. editWikiCup 2023 May newsletter
editThe second round of the 2023 WikiCup has now finished. Contestants needed to have scored 60 points to advance into round 3. Our top five scorers in round 2 all included a featured article among their submissions and each scored over 500 points. They were:
- Iazyges (1040) with three FAs on Byzantine emperors, and lots of bonus points.
- Unlimitedlead (847), with three FAs on ancient history, one GA and nine reviews.
- Epicgenius (636), a WikiCup veteran, with one FA on the New Amsterdam Theatre, four GAs and eleven DYKs
- BennyOnTheLoose (553), a seasoned competitor, with one FA on snooker, six GAs and seven reviews.
- FrB.TG (525), with one FA, a Lady Gaga song and a mass of bonus points.
Other notable performances were put in by Sammi Brie, Thebiguglyalien, MyCatIsAChonk, PCN02WPS, and AirshipJungleman29.
So far contestants have achieved thirteen featured articles between them, one being a joint effort, and forty-nine good articles. The judges are pleased with the thorough reviews that are being performed, and have hardly had to reject any. As we enter the third round, remember that any content promoted after the end of round 2 but before the start of round 3 can be claimed in round 3. Remember too that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article nominations, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). Thank you today for the article, on top of all the quality improvement around, "about the year that Cliff Thorburn ground his way to the world title. Coverage of the final was interrupted by the broadcast of live footage of the Iranian Embassy Siege, which caused numerous viewers to complain to the BBC."! - My story today - a first - isn't about an article by me, but one a reviewed for DYK, liking all: topic, "hook", connected article (a GA on its way towards FA), image and the music "in the background". As I just returned from a weekend of weddings, I also like the spirit ;) - besides having listened to The Firebird with one of the bridegrooms in the orchestra. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:01, 7 August 2023 (UTC)

- Sammi Brie, with 1575 points, gained mainly from a featured article, 28 good articles and 50 good article reviews. Close behind was
- Thebiguglyalien, with 1535 points mainly gained from a featured article, 15 good articles, 26 good article reviews and lots of bonus points.
Between them during round 4, contestants achieved 12 featured articles, 3 featured lists, 3 featured pictures, 126 good articles, 46 DYK entries, 14 ITN entries, 67 featured article candidate reviews and 147 good article reviews. Women in Green GA Editathon October 2023 - Around the World in 31 Days
editHello BennyOnTheLoose:
WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2023!
Running from October 1 to 31, 2023, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Around the World in 31 Days! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 countries (or broader international articles) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.
We hope to see you there!

New pages patrol newsletter
editHello BennyOnTheLoose,
Backlog update: At the time of this message, there are 11,300 articles and 15,600 redirects awaiting review. This is the highest backlog in a long time. Please help out by doing additional reviews!
October backlog elimination drive: A one-month backlog drive for October will start in one week! Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Articles will earn 4x as many points compared to redirects. You can sign up here.
PageTriage code upgrades: Upgrades to the PageTriage code, initiated by the NPP open letter in 2022 and actioned by the WMF Moderator Tools Team in 2023, are ongoing. More information can be found here. As part of this work, the Special:NewPagesFeed now has a new version in beta! The update leaves the NewPagesFeed appearance and function mostly identical to the old one, but updates the underlying code, making it easier to maintain and helping make sure the extension is not decommissioned due to maintenance issues in the future. You can try out the new Special:NewPagesFeed here - it will replace the current version soon.
Notability tip: Professors can meet WP:PROF #1 by having their academic papers be widely cited by their peers. When reviewing professor articles, it is a good idea to find their Google Scholar or Scopus profile and take a look at their h-index and number of citations. As a very rough rule of thumb, for most fields, articles on people with a h-index of twenty or more, a first-authored paper with more than a thousand citations, or multiple papers each with more than a hundred citations are likely to be kept at AfD.
Reviewing tip: If you would like like a second opinion on your reviews or simply want another new page reviewer by your side when patrolling, we recommend pair reviewing! This is where two reviewers use Discord voice chat and screen sharing to communicate with each other while reviewing the same article simultaneously. This is a great way to learn and transfer knowledge.
Reminders:
- You can access live chat with patrollers on the New Page Patrol Discord.
- Consider adding the project discussion page to your watchlist.
- To opt out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

edit- Many Congratulations on elevating Dylan's "old-time religious carnival music" to FA status. Your stamina and resourcefulness in negotiating the FA process are truly impressive. Well done. Mick gold (talk) 17:21, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
Congratulations! Moisejp (talk) 19:28, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
Thanks, Mick gold and Moisejp. Getting an article to featured status is always a collaborative effort, so thanks both for all you did in editing/reviewing this one. Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 11:50, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
Also pinging Thebiguglyalien. I raised my eyebrow at your (Benny's) objection to The Week In Chess. Do you have a specific problem with it? For decades, while I was following chess news, it was my main online source. I have a superficial grasp of WP:RS but if TWIC doesn't cut it, I don't know why. Thanks for any suggestions.
BTW, I am OK with the change that was made (removing the reference to her win of the 1995 Senior Women's WC), since I think that mentioning her 8th, and noting that it was her 8th, is sufficient for the purposes of this biographical article. Bruce leverett (talk) 03:39, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, Bruce leverett. Looking at The Week in Chess, this appeared to be a self-published source. WP:SELFPUBLISH allows these sources under some circumstances, but also says "Never use self-published sources as third-party sources about living people, even if the author is an expert, well-known professional researcher, or writer." Is there already a consensus about the reliability of this source? If not, you could post at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard and seek to establish one. Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 08:16, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
- WP:SELFPUBLISH makes an exception for the contents of magazines and newspapers, and TWIC is generally treated as a magazine. It has been updated weekly since 1994. I am familiar with the reasons why blogs and self-published websites do not make the cut, but TWIC is nothing like those.
- Thanks for pointing out that noticeboard to me. (I may have read about it but forgotten.) I would not have thought there was any question about TWIC, since I am sure that the frequent editors of chess-related articles are regularly citing it. But that's my insular point of view. If you are doubtful about TWIC, I am sure that other editors are, so I will look into the possibility of starting a discussion there or contributing to an existing discussion. Your GA nomination of John Brown (song)
editThe article John Brown (song) you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:John Brown (song) for comments about the article, and Talk:John Brown (song)/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has never appeared on the Main Page as a "Did you know" item, and has not appeared within the last year either as "Today's featured article", or as a bold link under "In the news" or in the "On this day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear at DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On this day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. editArchiving using the BOT
edit@BennyOnTheLoose: You have just used the BOT to archive refs in the 2023 UK Championship article, and that's generally OK, the BOT works fine. But, like all BOTs, it will make mistakes. So you need to check through manually after you use it. I think it's a really bad idea to archive any of the snooker.org references until well after the end of the tournament and not use a previously archived version (which is what the BOT does), as Hermund Årdalen updates these pages continually. As an example, compare [3] with [4]. The archived version is completely useless. I think these archives need to be removed for now. Alan (talk) 14:53, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
- @AlH42: Fair point; feel free to revert any instances you see where I've used the bot. BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 15:51, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
- That all seems to be OK now. That BOT seems to be a very "blunt instrument" so I've stopped using it, in favour of manually archiving stuff as required. Alan (talk) 16:55, 4 December 2023 (UTC)

Thomas Bradlaugh Leng
editNot sure i can be of much use but ... I found the following [5] which I hope you can read. Relates to the suicide of a Thomas Bradlaugh Leng from an aspirin overdose in 1965. The trouble is that it's not clear that it's the same person. Age 57 fits roughly, but "retired caterer" less so. Probate records have "LENG Thomas Bradlaugh otherwise KEEN Thomas, of 46 Burleigh Mansions Charing Cross Road London W.C.2 died 16 May 1965 at Pembury Hospital Kent Probate London 12 October (1965) to National Provincial Bank Limited. £66884" Obviously £66,000 was a lot of money in 1965. His birth is registered in March 1908 as Thomas Bradlaugh KEEN in West Ham. The trouble is that that's all I have. Still not clear whether it's the same man. Nigej (talk) 14:31, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
- Many thanks, Nigej. Having spent a while looking through records at Ancestry, I'm pretty much convinced this is the same person, but I feel need one more link in the chain before I put it into an article. Much appreciated! Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 00:28, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- All very frustrating. Did some more family history stuff myself. Probably he married Ivy Gladys Slyth in Westminster in 1943. Probably no children (per Freebmd). Her birth was registered in March 1911 and she died on 29 December 2014 (probate records). Confusingly she was known as Joy (see https://funeral-notices.co.uk/notice/leng/4208681). I was hoping to find some obituary at her death, but have failed miserably. Happy New Year

Best wishes for the new year. I look forward to working with you again in 2024. I'll start looking over Alex Higgins at some point and we can do another FAC together. Meanwhile, here are some mischievous moggies!
Cheers, Rodney Baggins (talk) 19:17, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
- Happy New Year Rodney Baggins! I'd be interested to see what you think about Higgins's article; I feel it's rather unbalanced at the moment, and needs more detail on his playing career, with perhaps a bit less on some other aspects. The biographies by Borrows and Hennessey are the best book sources I've seen so far (apart from the excellent Masters of the Baize, which is of course less detailed). Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 01:28, 5 January 2024 (UTC)

Thank you today for the article, introduced: "Lasting for over 11 minutes, Bob Dylan’s song "Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands" occupied an entire side of his 1966 double album Blonde on Blonde. It has polarised music critics." - I wonder why the title in the infobox is like in the official audio, but the article is different. No topic for the next three days, - never even think about moving an article while linked from the Main page. - Sad eyes - I mourn the death of Vami IV, and this image - given to him with thanks for GA Gates of Heaven Synagogue two days before he died - was taken on a cemetery returning from a funeral last year. It pictures a promise, - let's work on the articles he left under construction. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:33, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
... and thank you today for John Spencer (snooker player) - below - introduced: "This article is about three-time world snooker champion John Spencer. Spencer was noted for his cue action, which featured an unusually long backswing that provided immense cue power, allowing him to develop long-distance shots with deep screw and maximum side spin. According to Clive Everton in Billiards and Snooker magazine, Spencer's play in the 1969 World Snooker Championship final "justifiably caused gasps of amazement" from the audience."! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:31, 18 February 2024 (UTC)
The image, taken on a cemetery last year after the funeral of a distant but dear family member, commemorates today, with thanks for their achievements, four subjects mentioned on the Main page and Vami_IV, a friend here. Listen to music by Tchaikovsky (an article where one of the four is pictured), sung by today's subject (whose performance on stage I enjoyed two days ago). --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:44, 20 February 2024 (UTC)

WikiCup 2024 February newsletter
editThe 2024 WikiCup is off to a flying start, with 135 participants. This is the largest number of participants we have seen since 2017.
Our current leader is newcomer Generalissima (submissions), who has one FA on John Littlejohn (preacher) and 10 GAs and 12 DYKs mostly on New Zealand coinage and Inuit figures. Here are some more noteworthy scorers:
- AirshipJungleman29 (submissions), with one FA on Hö'elün, two GAs on Mongolia-related articles, and two DYKs;
- Vami_IV (submissions), with one FA on Doom (2016 video game), one GA on Boundary Fire (2017), and 11 reviews;
- MaranoFan (submissions), with one FA on Holidays (Meghan Trainor song), a nine-article FT on 30 (album), and two DYKs;
- Skyshifter (submissions), with one FA on OneShot and one DYK;
- Sammi Brie (submissions), with five GAs and five DYKs on television and radio stations;
- voorts (submissions) and Elli (submissions), both with one FA and one DYK each.
As a reminder, competitors may submit work for the first round until 23:59 (UTC) on 27 February, and the second round starts 1 March. Remember that only the top 64 scoring competitors will make it through to the second round; currently, competitors need at least 15 points to progress. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAN, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges (Cwmhiraeth (talk · contribs), Epicgenius (talk · contribs), and Frostly (talk · contribs)) are reachable on their talk pages. Ray Reardon / Snooker TFA
editHey Benny. Congrats on today's TFA. Am I right in thinking that Ray Reardon has not been on the main page thus far? I was going to suggest nominating him for TFA on 25 April this year, on the 50th anniversary of his third world championship win in 1974, but it appears that the April slots are already filled. Perhaps his 92nd birthday on 8 October? Given his advancing years, he might not be around that much longer to appreciate being on Wikipedia's main page! Rodney Baggins (talk) 18:41, 18 February 2024 (UTC)
- Rodney Baggins yes, I'd be keen to see either on the main page. I guess there might be some push back as Thorburn and Spencer have already been TFA's this year, but no harm in seeing how a nomination fares. Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 22:07, 18 February 2024 (UTC)
P.S. I was going to also point out that the main Snooker article has never been TFA, any thoughts? Pinging @Lee Vilenski: about that one too! Rodney Baggins (talk) 18:47, 18 February 2024 (UTC)

WikiCup 2024 March newsletter
editThe first round of the 2024 WikiCup ended at 23:59 (UTC) on 27 February. Everyone with at least 30 points moved on to Round 2, the highest number of points required to advance to the second round since 2014. Due to a six-way tie for the 64th-place spot, 67 contestants have qualified for Round 2.
The following scorers in Round 1 all scored more than 300 points:
- Generalissima (submissions), who has 916 points mostly from one FA on John Littlejohn (preacher), 15 GAs, and 16 DYKs on a variety of topics including New Zealand coinage and Inuit figures, in addition to seven reviews
- Vami_IV (submissions), who has 790 points from two FAs on Felix M. Warburg House and Doom (2016 video game), two GAs, one DYK, and 11 reviews
- AirshipJungleman29 (submissions), who has 580 points from one FA on Hö'elün, two GAs on Mongolia-related articles, two DYKs, and five reviews
- Sammi Brie (submissions), who has 420 points mostly from nine GAs and seven DYKs on television and radio stations
- MaranoFan (submissions), who has 351 points from one FA on Holidays (Meghan Trainor song), a nine-article FT on 30 (album), and three DYKs
- Skyshifter (submissions), who has 345 points from one FA on OneShot, one DYK and two reviews
In this newsletter, the judges would like to pay a special tribute to Vami_IV (submissions), who unfortunately passed away this February. At the time of his death, he was the second-highest-scoring competitor. Outside the WikiCup, he had eight other featured articles, five A-class articles, eight other good articles, and two Four Awards. Vami also wrote an essay on completionism, a philosophy in which he deeply believed. If you can, please join us in honoring his memory by improving one of the articles on his to-do list.
Remember that any content promoted after 27 February but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024
editHello BennyOnTheLoose,
Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.
Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.
Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.
It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!
2023 Awards
Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!
WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.
Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.
Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.
Reminders:
- You can access live chat with patrollers on the New Pages Patrol Discord.
- Consider adding the project discussion page to your watchlist.

DYK for Susanna Hoffs
editOn 5 May 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Susanna Hoffs, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Susanna Hoffs (pictured) sang on the studio recording of "Eternal Flame" naked after producer Davitt Sigerson pranked her by saying that Olivia Newton-John had done the same thing? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Susanna Hoffs. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Susanna Hoffs), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Pamela Stephenson
editHello, BennyOnTheLoose. This is a courtesy notice that the copy edit you requested for Pamela Stephenson at the Guild of Copy Editors requests page is now complete. All feedback welcome! Cheers, Baffle☿gab 00:55, 11 July 2024 (UTC) |
- Hi BennyOnTheLoose, I've now finished my copy-edit. While I was working, I removed one citation here; this was because the removed source was a deadlink to a syndicated version of the first citation with exactly the same content. I also moved one paragraph out of the "Early life" section and into the Performing career section because it deals with Stephenson's very early career. Also also, I moved material from several sections to a new Writing section; there is enough material here to warrant such a section.
- In your GOCE request, you asked for a few tips to improve the article for an FA nom. While I'm not an FA expert, I think a) you could expand the lede to another paragraph and b) add a few more images if possible. While a lot of the pre-Internet sources go to newspapers.com, maybe some of the more-recent ones could be sourced to live copies on the 'net; particularly those to The Independent. This would make them more accessible to a wide range of browsers. But those are just suggestions.
- Anyway, good luck with the article and your planned FA nom. Cheers, Baffle☿gab 00:55, 11 July 2024 (UTC)
- Many thanks, Baffle gab1978. I really appreciate this. Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 08:13, 11 July 2024 (UTC)

Newspaper access
editJust letting you know per your edit summary on this diff - I accessed those newspaper sources via the Wikipedia Library, so that's your best bet for getting them since you're extended-confirmed. There's a tool for getting TWL links from normal links over on GitHub (Suntooth/twl-urls
- been meaning to convert it to a Toolforge tool but haven't gotten the chance) so that you can find the exact clippings. Suntooooth, it/he (talk/contribs) 16:27, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks Suntooooth, I use that quite a lot but its showing as "Temporarily unavailable" for me in TWL, and tells me "Upgrade to a Publisher Extra Subscription to view this page" if I follow the links in the article. (Oddly, I can go directly to newspapers.com and see my own clippings, but I can't see others, or see the pages in search results.) If it's not fixed in a few days, I'll assume good faith on newspaper sources. Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 16:41, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Ah, alright! I hope it gets fixed soon, but either way thanks for your work on the GA review - I'll respond to your notes once the review's all done :] Suntooooth, it/he (talk/contribs) 16:43, 9 July 2024 (UTC)

1986–87 snooker world rankings
editJust been looking at 1986–87 snooker world rankings#Rankings. Just wondering how Steve Davis could have got 1 merit point. Seems impossible when he got ranking points in all 12 events. Nigej (talk) 18:11, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, Nigej, he got a half merit point from both the 1984 Rothmans Grand Prix and the 1985 British Open. For the 1985–86 season, Merit points were awarded to players who were required to compete in qualifying rounds of ranking tournaments and reached the last 32, with a full merit point awarded if this was achieved in the world championship, and half a merit point otherwise. I've added some footnotes. You can see where those merit points came from in the 1985–86 snooker world rankings list. I didn't try to show breakdowns of merit/A/frames for the 1986–87 list because sources only give totals for the lower-ranked players. Thanks. Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 19:42, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. Makes sense to me now. Nigej (talk) 19:49, 22 July 2024 (UTC)

Just listened to Hoffs' version. Hadn't heard it before, but it's very nice. I haven't heard everyone's versions out there, but for me it's hard to imagine any version better than the Biograph version, which is sublime. Incidentally, the I'll Keep It With Mine says Dylan's was first released on Bootleg Series 1-3, which is wrong. Maybe I'll change it sometime when I get a chance. :-) P.S. Joe Johnson FAC review
editHi Benny, I'm ready to put my review comments on the FAC page for JJ. However, I've found a lot of problems with the article and, as there's been no other interest in the review process at this stage, would it not be more sensible for me to help you improve the article as a contributor and then maybe we could co-nominate it at a later date? Is there any particular reason why you wanted to get Joe Johnson to FA ahead of other players? For example, I remember you wanted to work on Alex Higgins and I'm happy to go ahead with that soon if you're still interested. Regards, Rodney Baggins (talk) 11:05, 25 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Rodney Baggins: Ah, I hadn't realised it had a lot of issues; it was the last one I'd worked on that was at GA but not at FA (apart from Joe Davis, which I do think needs quite a lot of work). I've been a bit intimidated by the range of sources on Higgins (e.g. several books, acres of press coverage) wheras with the likes of Johnson, Griffiths and Walter Donaldson I've been confident that I'm across all the important sources. I'll withdraw the Johnson nom and probably start looking at Higgins. Thanks! Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 12:11, 25 August 2024 (UTC)

WikiCup 2024 August newsletter
editThe fourth round of the 2024 WikiCup ended on 29 August. Each of the 8 contestants who advanced to Round 4 scored at least 472 points, and the following contestants scored more than 700 points:
- Generalissima (submissions) with 1,150 points, mostly from 3 featured articles, 2 featured lists, 7 good articles, and 13 did you know nominations;
- Arconning (submissions) with 791 points, mostly from 2 featured lists, 8 good articles, 4 did you know nominations, and plenty of reviews;
- AirshipJungleman29 (submissions) with 718 points, mostly from a high-multiplier featured article on Genghis Khan and 2 good articles; and
- BennyOnTheLoose (submissions) with 714 points, mostly from 1 featured article on Susanna Hoffs, 2 featured lists, and 3 good articles.
Congratulations to our eight finalists and all who participated. Contestants put in extraordinary amounts of effort during this round, and their scores can be seen here. So far this year, competitors have gotten 36 featured articles, 55 featured lists, 15 good articles, 93 in the news credits, and at least 333 did you know credits. They have conducted 357 featured content reviews, as well as 553 good article reviews and peer reviews, and have added 30 articles to featured topics and good topics.
Any content promoted after 29 August but before the start of Round 5 can be claimed during Round 5, which starts on 1 September at 00:00 (UTC). Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. If two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether for a good article, featured content, or anything else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Remember to claim your points within 14 days of earning them, and importantly, before the deadline on 31 October.
If you would like to learn more about rules and scoring for the 2024 WikiCup, please see this page. Replaceable non-free use File:Bill Withers (snooker player).jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Bill Withers (snooker player).jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
Request for Review of Draft
editHi, I really appreciated your thoughtful and detailed review of one of my GA nominees. I was wondering if you would be down to review an outstanding draft of mine that i have been failing to get accepted. The reviewer is leaving rather vague feedback which I felt i have addressed but obviously isn't enough to get the article approved. Would really appreciate a different set of eyes looking at it.
- Hi Lisha2037, yes, happy to have a look. Which one is it? You might also be interested in getting involved in WikiProject Women in Red and/or WikiProject Women in Green (Also, it helps to add ~~~~ after posts to leave a signature.) Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 16:02, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- It is Draft:Rhaenyra Targaryen. It is a Game of Thrones article. I understand the feedback is that I need to psyhcoanalyze the character to prove she is worthy of a wikipedia article. Lisha2037 (talk) 18:15, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Lisha2037: I think the article is ready enough now. As it's currently a redirect, please list it at Wikipedia:Requested moves; requests there usually get processed fairly quickly. Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 08:57, 6 September 2024 (UTC)
DYK for Articulation (painting)
editOn 4 September 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Articulation (painting), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that actress Lisa Coleman attended artist Euan Uglow's studio one to three times a week from 1993 to 1996 to model for Articulation? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Articulation (painting). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Articulation (painting)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Women in Green's "Around the World in 31 Days" GA Editathon – October 2024
editHello BennyOnTheLoose:
WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2024!
Running from October 1 to 31, 2024, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Around the World in 31 Days!

Need Second Opinion
edithello @BennyOnTheLoose - you had previously reviewed my GA for Ritu Khullar which was successful. I am currently having my article Susanne Craig reviewed but with difficulty. I have posted on teahouse and the GA talk page for help and the suggested asking the reviewer to get a second opinion which they have refused or failing the article to get another editor on it. I was wondering if you’d be up to review that article - I believe it’s ready to pass. If not review maybe just glance at the article to see what’s up as the consensus I’ve received is the editor is being unreasonable. thanks much @lisha2037 Lisha2037 (talk) 15:12, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, Lisha2037, I see that the GA2 review has been picked up by another editor since you wrote this. I haven't looked at the GA1 review but I've seen the discussion at the GA talk page. I'm always happy to receive comments that go beyond the GA criteria to improve an article, and my own experience with the same reviewer has been very positive. I've also had reviews I don't particuarly like, but I assume good faith, and politely question anything that I think will diminish the article. I hope to see you nominating more articles! Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 20:46, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, yes someone in the make women green project picked it up. So I believe it’s going to be made green soon with some edit here or there. Thanks anyway! Lisha2037 (talk) 21:27, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
Question about GA review
editHi there, hope all is well! As you may see from the above, I seem to have found myself in dramatown. Without meaning to draw you into it, I wanted to ask you about your review at Talk:Ritu Khullar/GA1. I had trouble following parts of the review because of the way the nominator was replying, but at one point you wrote: A couple of outstanding points are above. I wasn't sure if you had gone through all my comments and made updates as you saw fit, or whether some are still pending.
I seem to have had the same problem reviewing another article for the nominator. (It's been a few years, but you may remember my style as the reviewer for Talk:Idiot Wind/GA1.) I'm just wondering how you dealt with that problem and kept track of your review. – Reidgreg (talk) 17:59, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, Reidgreg. I remember Talk:Idiot Wind/GA1 very well. I was fairly new to the GA process, and found your review incredibly helpful. For Talk:Ritu Khullar/GA1 I needed to do another close reading anyway, because of the placement of the citations in the version submitted, and during that and going though my original comments I made additions like
Hasn't been done. Do you disagree?
andNot done? Not a requirement for GA but it would be in line with the MOS
to the review where I felt comments had not been addressed. Doing this was bearable as it's a fairly brief article. However, it is much easier to conduct and follow the review when replies are indented below comments. I was used to this as I'd co-nominated some articles before. On reflection, I'll be offering advice to new nominators, if appropriate, about how useful indented replies are; not only for the reviewer, but also when another editor looks at the review. I should have learnt from my experience at Talk:Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel/GA2! Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 21:28, 14 October 2024 (UTC)

Good evening Benny. I am looking to make this the TFA for 27 November. Is that ok with you? If so, do you fancy having a crack at a draft blurb? Gog the Mild (talk) 17:56, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- Great, thanks Gog the Mild. Should I draft the blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/November 2024 once the article appears on that list? Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 12:20, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- Wikipedia talk:Featured article candidates/Susanna Hoffs/archive1 is the usual hidey hole, but it would probably be easier all round to draft it right here. Gog the Mild (talk) 12:25, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
@Gog the Mild: First attempt below (a hacked down version of the lead). I fully expect, and welcome, improvements! Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 14:15, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
Susanna Lee Hoffs (born January 17, 1959) is an American singer-songwriter. She, Debbi Peterson, and Vicki Peterson founded the Bangles in 1981. Their second album, Different Light, (1986) was warmly received by critics and was certified triple-platinum in 1994. The group's third album, Everything (1988), included the US top ten charting "In Your Room" and number one "Eternal Flame", both written by Hoffs with Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly. Following tensions including resentment at Hoffs's perceived leadership of the band and the stress of touring, the band split in 1989, reforming in 1999. Hoffs's first solo album, When You're a Boy (1991), was followed by Susanna Hoffs (1996). Neither of the releases proved to be as popular as the Bangles' albums, although they yielded two US-charting singles. Her most recent solo album is The Deep End (2023), and her first novel, This Bird Has Flown, a romantic comedy about a struggling musician, was published in the same year.
- Looks good to me. Thanks Benny. Gog the Mild (talk) 15:55, 15 October 2024 (UTC)

Looking forward and seeing more to come! Thank you today for Susanna Hoffs, introduced as "probably best known as a member of popular music group the Bangles; she co-wrote their hit "Eternal Flame". Her cinematic career has been less successful than her musical endeavours, which have included several solo albums and collaborations. In 2023 her novel This Bird Has Flown was well-received by critics."! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:16, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
I uploaded pics of a trip that was a 10-day celebration of a 16 November event, but the day was also when a dear friend died. We sang Hevenu shalom aleichem at his funeral yesterday, and it was good. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:35, 30 November 2024 (UTC)
