Abstract

By the end of 2007 initial drafts for standardized IPTV solutions have been made available by ITU-T and will be followed by ETSITISPAN Release 2 in the beginning of 2008. In this paper our approaches for the integration of Service Discovery & Selectionmechanisms into an IMS-based IPTV environment will be presented. This work is driven by active participation in ETSI TISPANWorking Group 2 and 3. Relevant existing standards from the Digital Video Broadcasting Group (DVB) and Open Mobile Alliance(OMA) will be analyzed in this context and followed by providing an introduction to a proof of concept demonstrator enhancing the socalled Fraunhofer FOKUS Media Interoperability Lab which represents an open playground for IMS-based IPTV services.
