We’re already more than halfway towards achieving our goal of taking 1 billion steps as part of the 2024 Healthy Cities Challenge. Thanks to our people, family, friends and corporate partners like Metcash, Tabcorp and Inchcape Australasia for their support and getting physically active this month. Today we even had support from Community Grants Program recipient, Assistance Dogs Australia who joined us for a walk around the Melbourne CBD as we ‘clawed’ even closer towards the end of September when well give away $1 million for nature regeneration projects.

Last week, we released Metcash’s Sustainability Report for 2024, containing the latest progress in our journey towards creating a sustainable future. “We have always valued independent third-party measures to verify our progress, and I am happy to report that Metcash has achieved its highest-ever result under the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. Today, Monday August 19th, is equal pay day for 2024. This day marks the end of the 50 days into the new financial year that Australian women must work to earn the same, on average, as men did last year.
