About us

ALDI Australia provides customers with the highest quality groceries at permanently low prices. We do this by offering a limited yet carefully selected product range and working closely with business partners to maximise efficiencies to deliver quality and value to customers. ALDI Australia operates more than 570 stores in six states and territories, directly employing more than 13,500 people and working with more than 1,000 Australian business partners each day. Since opening in 2001, ALDI has contributed an estimated $30 billion to Australia’s gross domestic product. We have an Australia first sourcing approach and these partnerships represent the most significant component of our contribution to the Australian economy. ALDI’s operating philosophy is based on the clear values: simplicity, responsibility and consistency. This is reflected in the way we interact with our people, our customers, our business partners, the communities in which we operate and the environment. This approach is essential to delivering the unique value proposition we offer Australian shoppers. We are committed to doing the right thing in every aspect of our operations and understand our responsibility to the environment, sustainable sourcing, community and health. ALDI’s Good Different approach means our customers can expect to find consistent and reliable value every time they shop with us.

The results are in, and it’s official: we’re going to need a bigger trophy cabinet... 🎉 🏆 ALDI Australia is once again Australia’s number one supermarket, bringing home the Most Satisfied Customers Award thanks to Canstar Blue’s Supermarket Satisfaction Ratings for 2024! ALDI was the only supermarket to score five-star ratings in the price-based categories of ‘value for money’ and ‘deals & specials’, as well as quality-based fields of ‘freshness of produce’ and ‘quality of supermarket-owned branded products’. This award comes as ALDI continues to pass on savings to shoppers to make everyone a winner, delivering $3.4 billion in savings to Australians in 2023. While this is the seventh consecutive time ALDI has received this award, our commitment to offering high-quality groceries at the lowest possible prices to Australians remains as steadfast as ever. With over 30 years of growing experience under his belt, if anyone knows a bunch about bananas, it’s Mark Smith. ALDI’s Group Director of Fruit and Vegetables, Matt Atley, is visiting Mark and the team at Premier Fresh Australia in Far North Queensland, one of the best banana growing regions in Australia. Here, the sub-tropical climate allows bananas to grow all year round – necessary when supplying over 8 million kilos of bananas a year to ALDI!   Today, for every kilo of bananas sold in ALDI stores nationally, we will donate 20c to Foodbank Australia, who are Australia’s largest food relief organisation, helping feed Australians doing it tough.

For the past six years, ALDI has proudly been working with the team at Berry North to get their delicious blueberries on our shelves, growing a staggering 300,000 punnets a year. Thankfully, Berry North is keeping up with the demand thanks to a certain ace ‘buzzing’ up their sleeve.   Berry North is not only home to premium blueberries - 80 beehives are housed on the farm, filled with hardworking bees who ensure that pollination across all crops is optimised. The bee’s efforts have played a pivotal role in producing better quality blueberries, helping set the fruit on the plants and improving fruit size, shape and overall taste.   Since working with ALDI, Berry North has enhanced its production processes, from the paddock to the packshed, to ensure quality is always front-and-centre. Ever wondered what fuels the daily operations of an ALDI store? It starts behind-the-scenes in a place full of people, products and a constant buzz — the warehouse.   Whether it’s receiving the latest Special Buys, to picking products from the freezer or even the chocolate room (yes that's a thing), our warehouse teams drive our business forward and keep the wheels turning so stores are stocked with products.   We spoke to a few team members about what it’s like working in our warehouses and what keeps them ticking (and it’s more than just appreciating the beauty of a well-organised system!). We’ve sent Group Director of Fruit and Vegetables, Matt Atley, on the road again. This time, he’s off to the northern part of Queensland, where the winter crop of our blueberries is ripe and ready for harvest!   Matt is visiting Nicole Inderbitzin and her family, who are third generation growers at Berry North Blueberries in the Atherton region. Today, for every punnet of blueberries sold in ALDI stores nationally, we will donate $1 to Foodbank Australia, which is Australia’s largest food relief organisation, helping feed Australians doing it tough.
