This OVA started a bit confusing - even after watching the first two OVAs beforehand. It seems that a big part of the story is missing between both OVAs. Good thing a friend told me what was missing since I don't think I will ever read the mangas to this series.
The animation and artwork were still as good in the previous OVAs. The tragedy, violence and action skyrocketed though! The action was really good but I could have done without that much violence.

Fear runs rampant throughout Tokyo with the revelation that demons in fact exist amongst us. Paranoia and the darker side of humanity boils onto the streets as people turn on one another, suspecting that anyone could in fact be a demon hiding in human clothing. Amidst the growing tensions, tragedy strikes Akira causing his mind to snap, retreating into his subconscious, allowing his Devilish alter-ego Amon to break free from Akira's cage of flesh and wreak havoc on both human and demons alike.

As most people mentioned already, some very disturbing stuff in this anime including cruelty and gore of course but thats pretty normal for Devilman, whats not is the fact that people must come prepared with manga knowledge in order to fully understand this OVA. All in all pretty decent watch but be aware of some unexpected and harsh demonic violence :D

Takes all things gruesome to newer highs. The previous Devilman movies flake in comparison to the violence contained herein.

metalotaku is right, especially if you haven't seen previous Devilman OVAs. Yet IMO what's great in this anime is that it feels differently, more mature (compared to other similar animes) thanks to superb audio FXs, OST and depicted cruelty. In that respect I can only compare it to something like Game of Thrones TV show.

Mindless demonic butchery that bring that bring very little constructive to the hostel of Go Nagai Saga. For die hard fan of gore and bloody guts mostly.
