Jen’s 4-star review: Hell's chicken is definitely worth the stop. They have 4 types of chicken: Original, Soy & Ginger, Soy & Garlic, and Hell's Flavor. I had the opportunity of trying the Soy & Garlic chicken, and it was amazing! The chicken had the perfect amount of crisp and juiciness to it, and tasted so good with a bowl of rice! They also have an extensive beer list which is a plus! The service was very good as well. Although the restaurant itself was very small, it didn't take too long to be seated. I will definitely be back here again! -
Jen’s 5-star review: I thought Pio Pio had my only vote for Peruvian chicken. Chicken festival has won my vote as well! I got the combination plate, which included 1/4 of a chicken, 2 spare ribs, rice and beans. I also tried it with their green hot sauce, AMAZING! $15 for the portion I got was well worth it. I've had juicier ribs, but their ribs weren't bad. However, their chicken was delicious! So tender, juicy and full of flavor! I saw a bunch of different platters on the menu that looked very appetizing. I'll definitely be back! -
Jen’s 5-star review: Sometimes I just have a sudden craving for a nice, juicy rotisserie style chicken. Pio Pio definitely satisfies that craving and never fails! The Matador Combo is perfect for 2 people: french fries & sausage, plantains, avocado salad, rice & beans, and a half chicken... all for just $35! You can't beat that... delicious and affordable! I also love pairing my meal with their delicious Red Sangria. Restaurant is quite small and intimate. At night, the lights are dim, which gives the restaurant a more cozy atmosphere. The service is on point, we were greeted and served right away. From start to end, I had a wonderful dining experience at Pio Pio, and will definitely be back again! -
Jen’s 5-star review: I am a big "Greek Freak" and have been looking all over NYC for the most simple yet best greek platter, "Chicken or Beef with Tzatziki Sauce over Rice Pilaf." Well my friends, I found just that! I asked if I was able to do a combination of ribeye & chicken, but unfortunately they had already ran out of ribeye! :( Its ok, because their chicken and rice platter? DELICIOUS! Their chicken is so juicy and flavorful... cooked perfectly and fresh. Their rice portion is generous. It also came with a side salad in which I asked for Italian dressing. Next time I will ask for more tzatziki sauce, because that sauce is AMAZING! Its pretty much a greek yogurt sauce with cucumber bits and dill. So yummy! The guys there were really nice and hard working. Many people stand in line for this and now I know why!! I just wish they would change their hours to accommodate late night cravings :( -
Jen’s 5-star review: Very cute little spot in east village. The best way to describe the decor of this place is... "A Pinterest Feel" A lot of DIY decor in this place which gives is that simple elegance, yet also a "being at home" vibe. I love their chicken. Very flavorful. What gives it its flavor is their awesome sauce, in which it includes a citrusy, spicey, sweet taste. Their waffle fries with Bacon was a hit also, along with their mac and cheese. Expect to be put on a wait list, because the restaurant gets packed, especially for brunch! Definitely worth the wait. -
Jen’s 5-star review: my oh my oh my. Where do I begin with these "Halal Guys." I've had the chicken and rice, and also the lamb and rice... both delicious! I usually get the combination of the two. But what makes these plates? THE WHITE SAUCE!!! oooh yes! I don't know exactly what the creamy goodness is, mayo mixed with something else (probably not the healthiest, but who cares it tastes great). Everything is made to order, right in front of you. Halal guys is known to have long lines, so they've expanded and started 2 other carts along the same block-- theres a reason.... its damn good! There are times now that I seriously crave Halal guys late at night.... best part about that is they are opened late!! Mind you, this is the BEST DRUNK FOOD ever! You'll see a lot of people stopping by Halal Guys after drinking. -
Jen’s 4-star review: In love with their mild buffalo chicken wings! Their wings are perfectly fried, nice and crisp. Their sauce is not too overbearing, it has the right amount of kick and tangy flavor to them. I did go on a monday when the foodball game was on, so it was little crowded. Typical bar crowd. Service was great, our server was very attentive and polite. I'd definitely be back again! -
Jen’s 3-star review: Cute little modern spot in Hell's Kitchen. This review is solely based on my order, which was the Sesame Glazed Chicken, Salt and Pepper Chicken and Roasted Potatoes. Sesame Glazed Chicken: I definitely was not expecting the spice that came along with it. It was a little too spicey for my taste buds. I couldn't even finish it. Also, this chicken was a bit too much on the sweet side. Salt and Pepper Chicken: It was pretty good! I like the crispiness of the chicken. They definitely loaded the pepper on there and had the perfect amount of saltiness to it. Roasted potatoes were pretty good. I love their fresh rosemary on it... however it was a little cold. Service was awesome, lady at the cashier was very nice. I would probably be back to try their rotisserie chicken someday, it looked like that's what their known for.
