My review is based on trying to get enrolled into the school. I completed the process of signing up , i went in and dropped off my transcripts and the same day was told to walk across to the admissions and counseling portable, when I walked in I let them know I just left my transcripts and was told to set my appointment with a counselor, the women working in the front desk/ reception area were quick to cut me off and say "NO you can't" and I said i understand maybe they have to review my transcripts and she asked for my name and tells me once they review them I'll get a call to schedule a meeting with the counselor, two days later when I'm at work I get a phone call , I was unable to answer and was expecting to get a voicemail, which one one left. I attempted to call back at 4pm when I get off work and no one answered the phone, the hours on their website show they should have someone available until 7pm, I left a voicemail with my name and call back number and no one got back to me. The next day I called again and someone finally answered and said they were trying to schedule a meeting with a counselor , I said I figured that's what it was but why did nobody leave a message letting me know. The rep on the phone apologized and got me scheduled in and sent me a confirmation email. The day I went to meet the counselor I checked in with the front desk lady she walked towards the back sat on her desk and both women were just kicking back on their phones, the rest of the process everything went smoothly , meeting with the counselor, taking my CASAS test and scheduling my intake appointment, it was the initial process that was horrible

I haven't been to the campus in a while and noticed they were doing renovations. The bungalow area is really developed; it feels like a little village. It's not hard to find the department you're looking for because they have signs everywhere.

There is also a map showing which services are offered. The admissions and counseling is right across from each other, but the rooms are so small that it feels stuffy in there.

I'm so glad the food pantry is still operating because it has been a godsend during these trying times. All you need is a student ID card, a current class schedule, and shopping bags (although they might have some on hand). Every semester, you have to do a questionnaire. I've noticed that they have a kiosk, and coming earlier in the day and week means better offerings. Everyone there is very kind and friendly.

The campus Wi-Fi is also really quick to connect to and works in the parking lot area.

Adult classes are free! If you want to drop a Kids College class, its easier to get a refund if you do it 48 hours before the first class session.

It seemed like a better deal than ROP if you just want to understand computers. My parents wanted to take a class called Introduction to Computers. Noncredit classes are once or twice a week for around three hours.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the majority of the yelp reviews on this school. Although the class selection at this campus is good, the administration is extremely unprofessional. The registration department is helpful; however, the student records department is very unhelpful. In particular, Kathy, who is in the records dept. is extremely abrasive and hostile towards students looking to get information on transcripts and other student records. Instead of listening to student concerns and questions... she bullies students around and is not efficient in her duties. Having an employee in the student records department that has an unprofessional, irate demeanor is not a good idea when that individual has to work with people and around people.

As stated, the classes offered here are vast (although not of superb quality); but the real put-off is dealing with rude, abrasive administrative employees like Cathy who talk bad about the school's instructors in front of students (unprofessional) and is not willing to assist students with their needs as per her job description.

NOCCCD/School Of Continuing Education, Is a great place to go to for more education, the teachers here all care for their students, The Instructors all help us as much as they all can, they probably dont even get paid enough for what they do for us. Its sad cause there are times when theres no teacher and we sometimes cant have class do to there budgeting and just not having enough funds to hire a sub. Its so fun here I love it. I even am aloud to bring my service dog, everyone loves him and the teachers and students all know him and love him very much. and he loves it. I spend 90% of my time here. Thats how much I really enjoy coming to school and so does shaggy he so happy and gets really excited to see my teachers and other kids and students hes even made some friends here.lol.

ts a great safe and fun place to go dont take my word for it look them up and see what classes that your intrested in taking and come see..

It was Monday morning. My son's game design class would be starting at noon and he was super excited! Being a working mom, I made arrangements to pick him up and take him to class during lunch time.

Then I received a call around 10am. "I'm sorry. The class has been cancelled due to low enrollment. We only have one person signed up for this class." The lady who called me said. Now I understand class gets cancelled if there are not enough students enrolled, but do you have to wait till 2 hours before the class to let me know? When I asked her the question, she answered sheepishly: "We were hoping for more students to enroll. That's why we didn't call earlier." Sure. You knew by last Friday that only one person was enrolled, but you believe a dozen more will sign up over the weekend? Are you kidding me?

I was deeply disappointed that the school did not even have the courtesy to notify parents at least 24 hours prior about class cancellation. But that was not the end.

When I asked about the refund, she told me that it will take their Accounting department 4 weeks to issue me a refund check. But I paid by credit card, can't you just refund back to the credit card? No, she said, that is their standard accounting procedure.

Fine. So we wait for the refund check to come in. When it arrived, I opened it to discover that the check was made out to my son, a 12-year-old. Now I have to take him with me to the bank in order to cash a refund check? When I called, I was told that refunds are always issued to the student instead of the parent since Accounting wouldn't know if the student is a minor or not.

Sure. It all makes sense. But I could tell you that for this class my son never was able to attend, I wasted a whole lot of time and effort for nothing. I won't sign him up for any more classes at this location based on the service I received.

      I absolutely loved this place.
I took photography with Rosenberg and adobe photoshop with Herrera. They are by far the best teachers ever!! For me this review doesn't do them justice. They go above and beyond to teach and help you. I was so pleased and I learned a lot. I highly recommend both classes. !!!!

Their Pharmacy Technician program is a JOKE. I can't believe that it's ASHP accredited.

For one of the pharmacology classes, the instructor is RIDICULOUS. She gives a super short introduction to the topic, and then she makes you memorize a short list of drugs with their generic names and trade names.

And that is it. You will be tested on the drug's generic names and trade names only.

You will need to be braindead to fail this class.

It's absolutely ridiculous that the class does not cover drug classifications and drug uses extensively.

Pharmacy technicians need to understand the properties of drugs and the relevant warnings of these drugs.

It's just insane that here at SCE, the pharmacology instructor only tests the students on generic names and trade names.

Also, the class size is insane. There's got to be at least 50 to 60 (almost 70) students in the classroom. Everybody is sitting together.

So it's very common that some people just peek at their neighbors' papers.

This is a very big problem. Every class in the Pharmacy Technician program only awards two grades: pass or no pass.

In other words, some jackasses can easily pass every class just by peeking at their neighbors' papers.

The class is so large that it's impossible for the instructor to proctor!

      I hate this place.

While now and then you will see and talk to a nice administrators , but most of the staffs at this school are rude and not helpful. The counselor I talked briefly on the phone was pretty rude and bullied. For God shake, she is a counselor, she suppose to hep students but it's the opposite , she makes student upset.
The worst thing about this school is the teacher's rules. OMG, each teacher make their own rules, a wide range of " scare tactics". For medical assistant program, Jenifer Oo is the worse out of all. She has hundreds of rules for her students, and some of them are the most unfair and and comes with such threat that I find abusive . For example, if you forget to turn of your phone texts and if it beeps to messaging while having quiz, you won't have a chance to turn it off, you will be dismissed out of the if right in front of every one, so that every one can see, and that way the rest of the class will learn. Another unfair rule is if you are late for the exam ( doesn't matter 2 minutes or 15 "), you will be dismissed out of the class as well. Student at her class are encourage/expect to change their life style habits , to be acceptance in the medical field by not having their nail colored, unnatural hair, heavy make up, false eye lashes, tatoos....etc.

If any of you guys attend to her class and feel there is unfair issues, I encourage you to speak up to the upper authority such as the Dean or the director. I find that most of her rules are come with threat, humiliated and show no respect & dignity for her students, this is totally abuse of power.
