      National Unicersity Costa Mesa
Gave my daughter the run around for 2 weeks. Didn't give her right info just handed her off to another person. After two weeks of phone calls and emails just to find out they didn't offer the program credential she inquired about. All about the $$$ and signing up for a class she didn't need for a credential they forgot to tell her they don't offer.
      BEWARE.

The school markets to Adult Professionals. But makes it impossible for them to contact anyone. You are alwasy available to get an operator or someone who is no help on the phone. Try getting your advisor they are remote and are always on the other line with another student. They do not email back in a timely manner. When I have needed something on normal I will spend hours of my day trying to figure it out only to re-explain the problem to a new person every time. You can not escalate problems to a supervisor. Honestly this school used to be really good before covid. There is a new hybrid remote structrue where all the on site people work from home and it is wild. I dont think this school will be here in a few years. I have been trying to register for classes for 2 months. With no success.

Absolutely would NOT recommend this school or anything to do with it. You will never be able to get ahold of anyone from the college especially the financial aid office. Absolutely terrible.

It's my husband that went through National University. I am just a by-stander watching what he has had to go through. Of course, I experience some of it because I'm married to him. So here goes. My husband is a teacher and went for a special education credential.

Now remember, it's a private university that is also a business, and IT'S EXPENSIVE, so you expect exemplary service. We took out a FAFSA loan, and almost every month, National sends us a bill saying that we owe them money because FAFSA has not paid yet. Now, as most of you know, school is already stressful as it is. The financial aid office should be the one to look into it. IT'S EXPENSIVE.

One time through the program, the school had a catch 22 where my husband for two months couldn't continue because of something they were doing wrong. Unfortunately, I can't remember what that was. But we had to call headquarters numerous times. IT'S EXPENSIVE.

At the end of all his classes and student teaching, he had to take an exit exam. He came home concerned because there were things on the test that were not covered in any textbooks or lectures. By the way, he got straight A's in all his classes. Of course, he didn't pass the exit exam. Well, do you get your money back if you don't pass? IT'S EXPENSIVE.

Now, in addition to all that, they have emailed him and told him that there is one more class he has to take. It was not in his original line up of classes. They waived it at the beginning of the program, and we have proof, but now they are saying he has to take it. THIS IS NOT HARVARD, YALE, OR STANFORD AND IT'S EXPENSIVE.

You are not going through the program any more quickly than at a four year university because originally we thought that would be the case. More than once, he has had to do the work of the advisors find what class from a previous school matched up with their classes. Some classes they required him to double up on.

To sum up, He expects for this amount of money to get something. Either an exemplary education, a really fast education, or great service. He doesn't feel like he got any of that.

I am currently pursing a degree in Educational Technology through National University. I must do my part and warn other teacher not to take teaching course through this organization. The material is out dated and we are forced to make lessons on platforms that are five years old. With the rapid growth of technology it is important for a University to keep our educators up to date. These courses have done the opposite. I have asked to use G-Suite applications to make it more relevant to my career and I have been shut down. The University makes cookie-cutter lessons and hires retired teachers to present them. I have spent hours on hours completing busy work and I have not used any of the materials I learned in the class in my career.

My advice is to pay more for another organization because this one is not for people who want to learn.

**This review isn't about my actual experience going to school here or their classes; it's about my process of getting information about their Graduate School.

I'm looking into going back to school in 2012 to get my Marriage and Family Therapy License since my life has hit a dead end somehow within the past couple of years. School would be the easiest way to get back into the grove of things and move forward.

Since a couple friends go to National, I'm looking into going too. I logged onto their website to check it out and sent them an email saying I'd like more information on their MFT Program. In less than 24 hours, I got a call back from an Admissions Counselor at the Costa Mesa Campus. She scheduled me to come in at 7pm on a Monday to go over the program.

I got to the building early, so I decided to check the place out. School looks nice from the outside with lots of parking and trees. I even saw a security guard walking around. Inside was spotless and smelled new. I was impressed.

Christine, the Admissions Counselor, was very kind and helpful. She spent a good 30 minutes with me. Went over in detail about the program and what I had to do to apply and enroll. Gave me a packet to look over that goes over in detail the MFT Program. I felt no pressure to apply and enroll, which I loved! Seems a lot of private colleges put HUGE pressure on you to enroll and/or apply (had that experience at University of Phoenix a couple years ago). Also, since I know someone that goes to school here, I'd get the $60 application fee waved....that alone is worth me to at least apply, even if I don't go through them!

Only downside is they're expensive. Expensive, as in about $1700 per CLASS! And I'd have to take 18 classes for MFT, which is about $30grand for my Masters. Cal State would be only about $21grand for my Masters. Eeeek. I'll keep this place in mind if I don't get into a State school, but obviously National wouldn't be my first choice.

Hope this helps anyone that is considering going to this school for their Grad School! :)

      First to Review

I came to get higher ed because I was bored with my life. I was at an impasse with what I wanted to do as I felt that I've reached a plateau in life and wished for a career change. So, I decided to attend a Master program. Had my 20 minute interview and I was accepted without any fuss.

The facility was nice and clean. Rooms were always available and the computer lab were never full.

The educational standards... hard to predict. Some professors were great and some were not so great. I don't know what to say about this. I think they're just trying to get by.

I like that it offers night time classes that are convenient for full time workers. The professors mostly were available via emails and what not. Not all of them were ethical people. I just don't quite know what to say about the whole experience.

I learned lots but because I did a lot of independent learning outside of school. Did I end up using the degree? No. I decided to keep my job. Was it worth it? Not for the price and the financial aid was slow. With every month they charged a $25 late fee. They claimed that this will be refunded when funding comes in from FAFSA but no, they racked up. I was so busy and my head was spinning with school, work and personal life that it wasn't worth it for me to argue about this every month.

If you want a quick degree and sacrifice the quality learning... this is the place to go. It will cost you and you may be lucky to get a professor who cares about your education. I think this all depends on the program you attended.

And, then I learned that the purpose of life is to have fun. Forget having high ed if it won't lead to professional growth. It's not worth jack to have a title behind your name when you can't use it in the workforce.
So, save your money for life enjoyment with loved ones.

If I could give this "pop-up" school a zero I would. I began the application process before I did much research; when I realized that this school was even worse than UOP and just as expensive I decided not to waste my time.

Well here we are 2 months later and I receive an email saying my account is 60 days past due for the $60 non-refundable application fee. I NEVER even submitted the application! I obviously will be disputing this to the fullest.

Online schools are obviously a huge convenience, my opinion, do not waste your time on this joke of a company.

Dont mistake it for Whittier law school located across the street. which I did...

while I would never come here for an education, I was required to come here for a safe serve certificate (food safety).

but hey, I can still have an opinion about this joint, right?!

first off this place is freezing ass cold. bring a sweatshirt or something. parking is ample, at least on Tuesday at 10:00 o'clock. bathrooms seem to be clean. Bathrooms were a bit hard to find.

seating was a bit uncomfortable but I was sitting for hours so I guess my ass would hurt either way. there are no vending services so that means no coffee, chips, cookies or snacks while trying to stay awake during boring classes or seminars...

I took a Flemings Law review course here.

      Pros:
      - nice bathrooms
      - lounge area selling drinks and snacks
      - clean

      Cons:
      - really warm in classrooms
      - chairs are terrible (exacerbated the pain of my previously injured tailbone)
      - classroom shape (they are designed lengthwise, with no stadium seating. Anyone behind row 3 can't see the board).
      - no electrical sockets to charge laptops at each table
      - no wifi for guests
