Food: This has been my go-to sushi place for the last 3 years. The food is usually pretty consistent. Probably only once was the food kind of average. Ever other time was Excellent. We always get the Alaska roll and the Winchester roll. They have been consistently amazing. The two best rolls here, IMHO. We also get the sashimi, agedashi tofu, and tempura if we are super hungry. All very good.
Service: Great usually! There was a couple of times when the ladies helping us weren't very pleasant, but that is rare for us and this place gets super busy so I don't expect servers to be happy all the time.
Ambiance: Casual. This place gets LOUD and crowded. There are tvs mounted on walls that usually have a game on.
Value: For sushi, excellent! Rolls are about ~$24Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - 41028Jun 19, 2024
This place had some of the most unique menu offerings I've seen. If you're a fan of truffle, get the yellowtail crudo. The flavor profiles are immaculate.
Everything else was good value and great quality also. Definitely stop by if you're looking for a high quality sushi spot in the bay area.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nicole B.San Jose, CA554355243Jun 14, 2024
12pm on a Friday afternoon.
Wishing I knew how to use chopsticks better, but to embarrassed to ask for a fork.
Beef Bulgogi - 3/5
Very large pieces. More fat on the beef than preferred
CA Roll - 4/5
Very good. Tasted very fresh. Avocado was green. (Minus since nothing was given to put the soy sauce in)
Shrimp Tempura - 4/5
Fresh. Crispy. A bit dark. Sauce with it was kind of plain. You have to soak them a bit longer in the sauce.
Miso Soup - N/A
Too hot to eat.
SALAD - 10/5
It took me all my wheel power to not drink the dressing. Lettuce pieces were a bit large for chopsticks. I almost did not want to eat it since I have never eaten salad with chopsticks. SO GLAD I DID IT!
Can't wait to try a special roll and come back for more salad.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - May 18, 20241 check-in
I'd give this restaurant a try if I were you
Mizu is the best Sushi Resto in San Jo that I've experienced. Probably one of the top '10' on Yelp?
Great service and excellent food. Drinks, Apps, Entrées and Presentations are above and beyond!Helpful 6Thanks 2Love this 3Oh no 1 - Apr 24, 2024
Everything was soooo good.
All the rolls tasted so fresh; the toro and salmon just melted in your mouth and the ingredients of every roll worked perfectly together. The right amount of rice to protein ratio as well!
10/10 would recommendHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 2, 2024
Ambiance: The Mizu San Jose location is a place we go to from time to time. The ambiance of this place is average (i.e. - read nothing special whatsoever). The tables are crammed together like a cafeteria and the booths are tight and uncomfortable.
Service: We have been here a few times (twice in the past 12 months) and I have to say both times the servers were SLOW, unresponsive to our asks, and the service just seemed to be strained. I am not sure if this is because they have a ton of tables and are short staffed or the servers simply don't care.
Food: I would say the food is AVERAGE (i.e. - not great but not bad either...very average). Here is what we ordered for the table:
Apps
--------
* Agedashi Tofu: The app was tasty and we all enjoyed it.
* Spicy Popcorn Scallops: This app was OK...nothing great.
Mains
---------
* Chicken Bulgogi: My parents got this to share and I have to say I tried it and it was DELICIOUS! The chicken was very tender and tasty!
* Salmon Teriyaki (Kids): My son got this and enjoyed the fish but didn't care for the rest of the stuff on the plate.
* Chicken Katsu: My older son got this and he finished ALL of the chicken which means it was very tasty as he is quite picky.
* Rainbow Blossom: This had an EXCELLENT presentation and was quite good.
* Shrimp Tempura Roll: My wife always gets this at almost all the places we go and she said that this was good.
Price: I would say, given that the ambiance is average at best, service is below average, and food is average to good...the price is NOT a great value for money (THIS is the reason I am giving this place a 3 star review). I would go here only if there is no where else to go.
Ps: The menu is extremely hard to follow and not designed well!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 3133959Jun 4, 2024
Great sushi, friendly staff and nice restaurant for a date night. I just didn't like that I asked for the potato strings on top of my roll and they charged a whopping 6$ for it! Way too much in my opinion. However they do give miso soup complimentary. The drinks are really tasty, I'd get them again!

Food was okay. They definitely make it look appealing with the flowers. I have to say the sushi plates are Instagram worthy but not worth the drive.
4 stars for customer service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jan 8, 2023Previous reviewI've heard this place is delicious, being a foodie, I had to come try their rolls.
On Sunday, they open at 11:30. We arrived at 11:45AM.
When we first walked in, they greeted us, and asked where if we wanted a booth or a table.
We said booth.
Unfortunately, we had to sit in a table because they can't place a high chair next a booth, only booster chairs.
After we were seated, they took our drink orders. We ordered water, lemonade & Prosecco rose.
Hannah was our server and she was always 100% kind, attentive, and friendly.
I'd say she made our experience more pleasant because customer service is key.
We ordered the spicy crunch, rainbow blossom, and crazy dragon.
Overall, our favorite was the crazy dragon! The flavor is spectacular.
Also, there is complimentary miso soup which was perfect for our 1 year old!
Our total was $94.61 for 3 rolls, 1 glass of Prosecco rose, and 1 lemonade
Since so many reviews bring up the price, I will say that it's not that expensive.
It's average. Our usual sushi place is about the same price. - Mar 19, 2024
My cousin took my brother and me here when we were visiting her recently and it was a great experience. We dined in at a booth and the ambiance was great. Our waitress was also nice and on top of things.
I liked sipping on my mojito as I enjoyed the miso soup and the sushi rolls here. The rainbow blossom roll was very aesthetic and tasted great especially with the sauce. I just wished there weren't as many of the deep-fried scallops on top since I couldn't finish them. I also shared the sun kissed roll, mizu jumbo roll, and crazy dragon roll, all of which were amazing too. I felt like the freshness of the fish was great and I wish I had this restaurant near where I live.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 15, 2024
Mizu's flavor palette never misses!
When I'm craving fresh fish, this is my go-to.
The place is a bit pricey and always packed but it's worth it. Portion sizes are big, so don't let the price scare you.
This place is almost always packed so expect a wait, no matter what. It's loud and crammed. Ask for a booth if you can, save yourself the hassle and bumping back to back with strangers.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
