Poll for establishing first community process
A poll to establish a process of granting advanced rights has been started by User:0xDeadbeef right here. Nadzik (talk) 10:04, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
- @DVrandecic (WMF): if WMF staff is ready for stewards to process requests from this project for these sort of roles, would you please post a note at meta:Stewards' noticeboard to such effect? (Stewards normally don't handle such requests for employees/contractors, so that should remain a parallel process. Thank you, Xaosflux (talk) 19:05, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Xaosflux. I've commented on the project page, and there are two related community discussions at (as you've seen) Wikifunctions:Project chat#Process for community roles and (in case you haven't) at Wikifunctions:Project chat#Let's forward user group requests to Stewards, and not WMF. It's in the community's hands. (And confirmed on your last point). Thank you! Quiddity (WMF) (talk) 21:24, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Quiddity (WMF) thanks for the reply, baring development of any new local policies and demonstration that there is a sufficient self-managing community, us stewards can handle requests the same way would any other small/medium project. In general: have a local discussion for permissions, if it seems OK, you get a temp grant (generally a year) - to start. Once the community grows it can be different.
