Motivation

Motivation: PHI is a leading authority and online database for ancient Greek inscriptions. There is recognition in the [talk:WikiProject Ancient Rome|WD community working on cultural heritage] topics that [world properties|current WD identifiers relevant to the ancient Mediterranean world] do not provide adequate disambiguation for ancient inscriptional content. Discussion
[edit]- Support This will be useful in incorporating additional information about inscriptions. YULdigitalpreservation (talk) 20:58, 16 November 2022 (UTC)

- Support I ended up not receiving any notification, so I'm suspecting other didn't as well ; repinging at least @Epìdosis: and @Alexmar983:. Alexmar started Wikidata:WikiProject Epigraphy a few month ago with some guidelines, perharps IDEA can be the pilot-project to implement them. --Jahl de Vautban (talk) 05:58, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
- Support of course and thanks Jahl for the second ping! --Epìdosis 08:24, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
- Comment In principle support but do I understand correctly: external-id, but no formatter URL (yet)? --Emu (talk) 19:59, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Emu: Thanks for your comment. Yes, you're correct, it is an external ID but the URLs do not have a structure that allows the designation of a "formatter URL". In this case, Wikidata would need to store the entire URL rather than decoupling the formatter URL from the object-specific ID number. Ahc84 (talk) 18:56, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Ahc84: wouldn't it work with
https://epigraphy.packhum.org/text/$1
