"Author" property, P50

[edit]

Hi!

author (P50) is supposed to be used on a book, to link it to its author, but on https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?oldid=623879446#P50 you're using it on the author to link to books. You should be able to create an item for each book instead, from which you can indeed link Lisa Crispin (Q47287655) as the author with author (P50) --Reosarevok (talk) 13:06, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Is there an easy way to add multiple items to wikidata? Or convert them to the right type?
You can easily add items from the Create a new item option on the sidebar, but that's one at a time. That said, since all your items have different info (other than them having the same author, they have different instance of (P31), with some being books, some articles, etc, so nothing else is really the same) so one at a time is probably the most reasonable approach anyway. Wikidata:WikiProject_Source_MetaData has a list with all the metadata that can be added to different types of scholarly articles and whatnot, while Wikidata:WikiProject Books is more specifically about books --Reosarevok (talk) 19:48, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
