Property | Data type | description | Required |
---|---|---|---|
instance of (P31) | Item | that class of which this subject is a particular example and member; different from P279 (subclass of); for example: K2 is an instance of mountain; volcano is a subclass of mountain (and an instance of volcanic landform) . Possible values: chemical element (Q11344) | Yes |
element symbol (P246) | String | identifier for a chemical element | Yes |
atomic number (P1086) | Quantity | number of protons found in the nucleus of the atom | Yes |
electronegativity (P1108) | Quantity | tendency of an atom or functional group to attract electrons | No |
image (P18) | Commons media file | image of relevant illustration of the subject; if available, also use more specific properties (sample: coat of arms image, locator map, flag image, signature image, logo image, collage image) | No |
year of publication of scientific name for taxon (P574) | Point in time | year when this taxon was formally described (for animals); year when this taxon name was formally established (for plants) | No |
color (P462) | Item | color of subject | No |
magnetic ordering (P922) | Item | magnetic ordering of a substance | No |
InChIKey (P235) | External identifier | a hashed version of the full standard InChI | No |

Определение

- Concur. Note also Q17327503. Tortoise0308 (talk) 14:18, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
- I see. For example, nitrogen (Q627): period 2 (Q207712) consists of Q17327503; group 15 (Q106675) consists of Q17327492 --Fractaler (talk) 15:50, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
- Useless, redundant. In the periodic table, "Group" is a classification. It is enough to claim: nitrogen (Q627) is classified as being in group 2 (and so is a 'member of' group 2). Aggregating, this already lists "members of group 2", and next up "members of a group".
- Listing 'Element of a specific group' is no new information. (Also note the 'specific'?!; are there members of non-specific groups?). 'Element of a specific group' is exactly the same as the aggregate 'Members of groups', which is automatically provided. -DePiep (talk) 11:52, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
- nitrogen (Q627) is homonym (Q160843) and = 1) Q17327492 and =2) Q17327503. The mathematica model is: nitrogen (Q627) = point (Q44946) on Cartesian coordinate system (Q62912) (2D). Q17327492 (or Q17327503) is point on line (Q37105) (1D). So nitrogen (Q627) = intersection (Q185837) (Q17327492 + Q17327503)
A compound or a substance?
[edit]If I understand the definition of a en:Chemical compound well, a chemical element does not qualify because there are no multiple elements involved. I think it should be chemical substance (Q79529). -DePiep (talk) 11:55, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
Electron configuration
[edit]How to create new property - "Electron configuration" based on electron configuration (Q53859) ? Васин Юрий (talk) 17:39, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
- You would need to make a property proposal - see Wikidata:Property proposal. I assume we'd want a string value, like 1s2-2s2-2p6-3s2 - is there a standard string format for this? ArthurPSmith (talk) 18:19, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
physical object
[edit]Should this be a subclass or an instance of a physical object? And if not why? Juliansteinb (talk) 21:18, 13 January 2020 (UTC)
