- Oppose It’s the same as VideoGameGeek company ID (P10511). Different formatter URLs, but exact same concept and IDs. In the source code they seems to address that as `videogamehwmfg` Jean-Fred (talk) 13:37, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
- Further source code exploration yields `objecttype='company'` Jean-Fred (talk) 13:42, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
- (From that perspective, VideoGameGeek game ID (P7591) and VideoGameGeek platform ID (P7592) are somewhat redundant − both are objecttype=thing. Jean-Fred (talk) 13:43, 3 May 2024 (UTC))

- Oppose per Jean-Frédéric. The database is indeed using the same ID, regardless of whether it's the developer or the publisher. If we take this company as an example and check both pages (see [1], [2]), there is really zero difference and therefore no point in creating a new separate property. I think the ideal solution here is to simply rename VideoGameGeek company ID (P10511) to VideoGameGeek company ID and use the new universal formatter URL
https://videogamegeek.com/company/$1
(preferred rank), which redirects to both developer and publisher. Whilehttps://videogamegeek.com/videogamedeveloper/$1
andhttps://videogamegeek.com/videogamepublisher/$1
(normal rank) can be used as additional formatter URLs (see). Thanks to Jean-Fred for the tip. Regards Kirilloparma (talk) 15:20, 3 May 2024 (UTC)- Yeah, I was also thinking of renaming P10511. See also VideoGameGeek series/franchise ID (P11459) which is called « series/franchise » (it’s actually called « family » in the source code). Jean-Fred (talk) 20:49, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
- Done. I have renamed the property and tweaked it a bit. The only thing left to do is to correct the labels/descriptions in other languages as well. Regards Kirilloparma (talk) 02:19, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
