Ad-Hoc Expert Groups
The Economic and Social Council, in its resolution 2000/35, by which it established the United Nations Forum on Forests, decided that the Forum may recommend, as appropriate, the convening of Ad-Hoc Expert Groups of limited duration, involving experts from developed and developing countries, for scientific and technical advice.
Recent and Upcoming Ad-Hoc Expert Groups
- 25-27 April 2016 – the first meeting of the Open-ended intergovernmental ad hoc expert group (AHEG1) established pursuant to paragraph 48 of ECOSOC Resolution 2015/33 took place in UNHQ, New York.
- 24-28 October 2016 – the second meeting of the Open-ended intergovernmental ad hoc expert group (AHEG2) established pursuant to paragraph 48 of ECOSOC Resolution 2015/33 will take place at the United Nations Office in Bangkok, Thailand
