Welcome to my blog!

Hi! I am Mersinia, my pronounse are whatever you want them to be and I'm 18 years old. I've been on Tumblr a couple years now.

Most stuff on my blog is reblogs from stuff I like, or my own art! Whatever you're here for I hope you have fun ^^

In my pfp you can see "blobbie" a character I made a while ago for wizardblr who has a blog (@blobbiedaykeeppcaway), if you want there are some wizard posts there and doodles i make on my phone.

I also post lots of art I make on my laptop which is on this blog and I keep a record of it on @art-wizard-m, so go follow me there if you want to see all my art! Alternatively check out my youtube for speedpaints and little animations!

If you want feel free to send me some asks, for either me or my characters, I really enjoy answering stuff and for the characters I will usually even draw the characters answering.

me as a writer: Oh no I can’t write that, somebody else already has

me as a reader: hell yes give me all the fics about this one scenario. The more the merrier

This one is so hard to accept. Reblogging to knock that into my brain.

Me as a writer: I feel like I’m repeating myself, I’ve already used that theme, I’ve already written that kink, that other character uses that speech pattern so this one in another fandom can’t, I feel like I’m writing predictable things, is this different enough from that other thing I wrote, are people filling out bingo cards by my work? :sobbing:

Me as a reader: oh hell yeah this hit the spot exactly, I hope this writer has written 20 more just like it

As one friend said when I felt I was reusing a theme too much, nobody ever says, Did Agatha Christie write about murder again?

I actually laughed out loud at the last one. A very good point.

“I love this, I hope there isn’t anything else out there like it!” Said no one ever

Sometimes you just really need other people to point out the obvious to you! Thanks, guys.

I remember being in a tiny fandom and reading every story a particular writer had written in that fandom, and then every other story they had written for good measure. Probably around 30-35 stories in all.

In every single story they wrote, one of the main characters either had, acquired, or considered adopting or buying a Bedlington Terrier. Always that one type of dog.

I never got tired of it. By about story 7 I was reading along thinking ‘when is the little lamb dog going to show up?’ and it didn’t even blip my weirdness radar.

Do your thing over and over again, friend.

Just because YOU can't see the barrier preventing a person from doing something, that doesn't mean there isn't one. Because people rarely suffer and struggle on purpose.

I want to tell a story to the artists and would-be artists out there.

When I was 19, I made a large oil painting of the nerd I would eventually marry. I poured all my attention and care into this painting. It's the only art I have from back then that still holds up as a work I'm proud of today.

I entered it into a judged show at the local art center. It got an honorable mention. I went to see the show with my beloved model. One of the judges came up to talk to me, and highlighted that all the judges really liked the painting. It would have placed, except, you see, the feet were incorrect. They were too wide and short, and if I just studied a bit more anatomy-

I called over my future wife, and asked her to take off her shoe. Being already very used to humoring me, she did. The judge looked at her very short, very wide little foot. Exactly as I'd lovingly rendered it. I would never edit her appearance in any way.

The judge looked me in the eye, and to his credit, he really looked like he meant it when he said "Oh I'm so sorry."

Anyways the moral of the story is that all of those anatomy books that teach you proportions are either showing you averages, or a very specific idea of an idealized body. Actual bodies are much more varied than that.

So don't forget to draw from observation, and remember that humans aren't mass produced mannequins. Delight in our variation. Because it's supposed to be there.

My very specific headcanon that these five characters have a group chat called The Girls and Klavier has always wanted to be in it so badly but they won’t let him be one of the girls
