     Cecil Bisshopp Harmsworth, 1st Baron Harmsworth was born on 28 September 1869 at 6 Alexandra Terrace, St. John's Wood, London, EnglandG.1,2 He was the son of Alfred Harmsworth and Geraldine Mary Maffett.1 He married Emilie Alberta Maffett, daughter of William Hamilton Maffett, on 28 April 1897.1 He died on 13 August 1948 at age 78.1
     He was educated at Marylebone Grammar School, Marylebone, London, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was Senior Moderator in Modern Literature in 1891.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Droitwich between 1906 and 1910.1 He wrote the book Pleasure and Problem in South Africa, published 1908.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, in 1911 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of Parliamentary Private Secretary between 1911 and 1914, to the President of the Board of Agriculture and Fish.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Luton between 1911 and 1922.1 He held the office of Parliamentary Private Secretary between 1914 and 1915, to the President of the Board of Trade.1 He held the office of Parliamentary Under-Secretary for the Home Department in 1915.1 He was a member of the Prime Minister's Secretariat between 1917 and 1919.3 He was Acting Minister of Blockade in 1919.3 He held the office of Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs between 1919 and 1922.1 He was chairman of Associated Newspapers.3 He was a director of Amalgamated Newspapers.3 He wrote the book Immortals at First Hand, published 1933.3 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) in 1938.1 He gained the title of 1st Baron Harmsworth, of Egham, Surrey [U.K.] on 4 February 1939.1 He wrote the book A Little Fishing Book, published 1942.3

     Emilie Alberta Maffett was the daughter of William Hamilton Maffett.2 She married Cecil Bisshopp Harmsworth, 1st Baron Harmsworth, son of Alfred Harmsworth and Geraldine Mary Maffett, on 28 April 1897.1 She died on 4 May 1942.1
     Her married name became Harmsworth. After her marriage, Emilie Alberta Maffett was styled as Baroness Harmsworth on 4 September 1939.

     Sir Robert Leicester Harmsworth, 1st Bt. was born on 1 November 1870 at Rose Cottage, The Vale, Hampstead, London, EnglandG.2,3 He was the son of Alfred Harmsworth and Geraldine Mary Maffett.2 He married Annie Louisa Scott, daughter of Thomas Scott, on 13 February 1892.2 He died on 19 January 1937 at age 66.2 He was buried at St. Marylebone Cemetery, East Finchley, London, EnglandG.3
     Sir Robert Leicester Harmsworth, 1st Bt. usually went by his middle name of Leicester.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Caithness between 1900 and 1918.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Sutherland between 1918 and 1922.2 He was created 1st Baronet Harmsworth, of Moray Lodge, Kensington [U.K.] on 1 July 1918.2 He was a director of Amalgamated Press.2 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, CanadaG, in 1927.2

     Sir Hildebrand Aubrey Harmsworth, 1st Bt. was born on 15 March 1872.1 He was the son of Alfred Harmsworth and Geraldine Mary Maffett.2 He married Kathleen Mary Berton, daughter of Edwin Denny Berton, on 4 July 1900.1 He died on 18 April 1929 at age 57.1
     He was educated at Merton College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 In 1900 he unsuccessfully stood for Gravesend as the Imperial Liberal candidate in the general election.1 He was editor of the New Liberal Review between 1901 and 1904.1 In 1906 he unsuccessfully stood for Wellington, Shropshire as the Tariff Reform candidate in the general election.1 He was created 1st Baronet Harmsworth, of Freshwater Grove, in the Parish of Shipley, co. Sussex [U.K.] on 21 June 1922.1
