Arthur Wolfe, 1st Viscount Kilwarden was born on 19 January 1738/39.1 He was the son of John Wolfe and Mary Philpot.1 He married Ann Ruxton, 1st Baroness Kilwarden, daughter of William Ruxton and Mary Gibbons.1 He died on 23 July 1803 at age 64, killed by rebels.1
He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, in 1760 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was appointed King's Counsel (K.C.) in 1778.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Coleraine [Ireland] between 1783 and 1790.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Jamestown [Ireland] between 1790 and 1796.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dublin City [Ireland] in 1796.1 He held the office of Lord Chief Justice of the King's Bench [Ireland] between 1796 and 1803.1 He was created 1st Baron Kilwarden of Newlands [Ireland] in 1798.1 He was created 1st Viscount Kilwarden [U.K.] in 1800.1
