     Walter Angelo Fox-Strangways, 8th Earl of Ilchester was born on 24 September 1887.1 He was the son of Maurice Walter Fox-Strangways and Louisa Blanche Phillips.1 He married Laure Georgine Emilie Mazaraki, daughter of Evanghelos Georgios Mazaraki, on 8 April 1916.1 He died on 4 October 1970 at age 83.1
     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, EnglandG.1 He was Levant with the Consular Service between 1910 and 1923.1 He graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1911 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was Vice-Consul at Mogador, MoroccoG.1 He fought in the First World War, with the Special Mediterranean Intelligence Bureau.1 He fought in the Second World War, with the Queen's Royal Regiment.1 He succeeded as the 8th Earl of Ilchester [G.B., 1756] on 21 August 1964.2 He succeeded as the 8th Lord Ilchester, co. Somerset, Baron of Woodford Strangways, co. Dorset [G.B., 1741] on 21 August 1964.2 He succeeded as the 8th Lord Ilchester and Stavordale, Baron of Redlynch, co. Somerset [G.B., 1747] on 21 August 1964.2

     Laure Georgine Emilie Mazaraki was the daughter of Evanghelos Georgios Mazaraki.1 She married Walter Angelo Fox-Strangways, 8th Earl of Ilchester, son of Maurice Walter Fox-Strangways and Louisa Blanche Phillips, on 8 April 1916.1 She died on 29 October 1970.1
     Her married name became Fox-Strangways. After her marriage, Laure Georgine Emilie Mazaraki was styled as Countess of Ilchester on 21 August 1964.

Maurice Vivian de Touffreville Fox-Strangways, 9th Earl of Ilchester was born on 1 April 1920 at Port Tawfiq, EgyptG.2 He was the son of Walter Angelo Fox-Strangways, 8th Earl of Ilchester and Laure Georgine Emilie Mazaraki.1 He married Diana Mary Elizabeth Simpson, daughter of George Frederick Simpson, on 29 November 1941.3 He died on 2 July 2006 at age 86 at Tunbridge Wells, Kent, EnglandG.2
     He was educated at Kingsbridge Grammar School, Kingsbridge, Devon, EnglandG.2 He was commissioned in 1936, in the service of the Royal Air Force.3 He was registered as a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.)3 He succeeded as the 9th Earl of Ilchester [G.B., 1756] on 4 October 1970.3 He succeeded as the 9th Lord Ilchester and Stavordale, Baron of Redlynch, co. Somerset [G.B., 1747] on 4 October 1970.1 He succeeded as the 9th Lord Ilchester, co. Somerset, Baron of Woodford Strangways, co. Maurice Vivian de Touffreville Fox-Strangways, 9th Earl of Ilchester, son of Walter Angelo Fox-Strangways, 8th Earl of Ilchester and Laure Georgine Emilie Mazaraki, on 29 November 1941.1 She died on 1 March 2011.2
