Reverend Eyre William Preston Archdall1

     Reverend Eyre William Preston Archdall was born on 26 February 1871.1 He was the son of Rt. Rev. Mervyn Archdall and Henrietta Preston.1 He married Edith Gladys Jeanette Rose, daughter of Robert de Ros Rose, on 28 June 1905.1 He died on 8 July 1955 at age 84.1
     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, in 1892 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), he later earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) from the same school.1 He was the Curate between 1894 and 1896 at Magherafelt, County Londonderry, IrelandG.1 He was the Curate in 1896 at Shankhill, County Monaghan, IrelandG.1 He was the Curate between 1896 and 1900 at Ballywillan, County Antrim, IrelandG.1 He held the office of Chaplain for the Loretto School between 1900 and 1901.1 He was the Curate between 1901 and 1905 at St. Mary's Cathedral, Limerick, County Limerick, IrelandG.1 He was a Precentor between 1905 and 1908.1 He held the office of Canon of Killaloe, and the Chaplain to the Bishop of Killaloe in 1908.1 He was the Rector between 1908 and 1922 at Killaloe, County Clare, IrelandG.1 He was the Vicar between 1922 and 1945 at Stockland, Somerset, EnglandG, then he retired.1

     Edith Gladys Jeanette Rose was the daughter of Robert de Ros Rose.1 She married Reverend Eyre William Preston Archdall, son of Rt. Rev. Mervyn Archdall and Henrietta Preston, on 28 June 1905.1
     From 28 June 1905, her married name became Archdall.1 As of 1976, Edith Gladys Jeanette Rose lived at Alcombe Cottage, Alcombe, Somerset, EnglandG; (near Minehead.)1

Colonel Mervyn Archdall1

     Colonel Mervyn Archdall was born on 23 April 1906.1 He was the son of Reverend Eyre William Preston Archdall and Edith Gladys Jeanette Rose.1 He married Doris Maude Vaile, daughter of Hubert Earle Vaile, on 24 November 1934.1 He died on 31 October 1987 at age 81 at Petersfield, Hampshire, England.2
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 He entered the military in 1924, in the service of the Royal Marines.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He retired from the military, with the rank of Colonel, late of the Royal Marines.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1955.1 As of 1976, Colonel Mervyn Archdall lived at North Hills, Meonstoke, Hampshire, EnglandG.1

     Rosemary Archdall was born on 18 September 1912.1 She was the daughter of Reverend Eyre William Preston Archdall and Edith Gladys Jeanette Rose.1 She married Bernard Le Fanu Blacker Elliott, son of Dr. George Blacker Elliott and Rosalie Maud Le Fanu, on 5 March 1949.1 She died on 19 October 1974 at age 62, without issue.1
     From 5 March 1949, her married name became Elliott.1
