     George Keith Erskine was born on 19 February 1809.¹ He was the son of David Erskine and Hon. Keith Elphinstone.² He married Selina Chambers, daughter of Lt.-Col. unknown Chambers, in 1837.¹ He died on 12 January 1849 at age 39.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Bombay Light Cavalry.¹

     Selina Chambers was the daughter of Lt.-Col. unknown Chambers.² She married George Keith Erskine, son of David Erskine and Hon. Keith Elphinstone, in 1837.¹ She died on 14 April 1875.¹
     From 1837, her married name became Erskine.

     Maj.-Gen. George Elphinstone Erskine was born on 20 January 1841.¹ He was the son of George Keith Erskine and Selina Chambers.² He married, firstly, Blanche Cates, daughter of George Cates and Harriet Nethersole, on 26 September 1861.¹ He married, secondly, Eva Constance Sarah Edwards, daughter of Canon Ebenezer Wood Edwards, on 3 July 1895.¹ He died on 12 September 1912 at age 71.¹
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He gained the rank of Major-General in the Bombay Cavalry, Indian Army.¹

     George Cates was born circa 1800 at Chelsea, London, England^G.² He married Harriet Nethersole, daughter of William Nethersole and Harriet Dickenson. He died on 28 May 1887 at Manor House, Shaldon, Devon, England^G.²

     Blanche Cates was the daughter of George Cates and Harriet Nethersole.^2,3 She married Maj.-Gen. George Elphinstone Erskine, son of George Keith Erskine and Selina Chambers, on 26 September 1861.¹ She died on 27 December 1879.¹
     From 26 September 1861, her married name became Erskine.

     Lt.-Col. Keith Erskine was born on 12 June 1863.¹ He was the son of Maj.-Gen. George Elphinstone Erskine and Blanche Cates.² He married Mabel Seabrook Dyson, daughter of John Dyson, on 3 November 1892.¹ He died on 19 October 1914 at age 51, without issue.²
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1900 in the Indian Army.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.)¹ He held the office of Consul-General to Baghdad in 1914.²

     John Dyson lived at Moorlands, Somerset, England^G.¹

     Mabel Seabrook Dyson was the daughter of John Dyson.² She married Lt.-Col. Keith Erskine, son of Maj.-Gen. George Elphinstone Erskine and Blanche Cates, on 3 November 1892.¹ She died on 11 September 1950.¹
     From 3 November 1892, her married name became Erskine.

     Charles Ellis Hay Erskine was born on 24 June 1866.¹ He was the son of Maj.-Gen. George Elphinstone Erskine and Blanche Cates.² He married Gertrude de Bary Saunders, daughter of Gilbert Saunders, on 19 November 1897.¹ He died on 3 October 1902 at age 36, without issue.²
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Indian Staff Corps.¹
