Lt.-Col. Walter Charles Warner Arbuthnott, 13th Viscount Arbuthnott was born on 22 October 1847.1 He was the son of Hon. Walter Arbuthnott and Anna Maria Ottley.1 He married Emma Marion Hall Parlby, daughter of Reverend John Hall Parlby and Emma Admonition Radcliffe, on 15 January 1878.1 He died on 9 August 1920 at age 72.1
He fought in the Second Afghan War in 1880.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Artillery.2 He succeeded as the 13th Viscount of Arbuthnott, of co. Kincardine [S., 1641] on 8 November 1917.1 He succeeded as the 13th Lord Inverbervie, of co. Kincardine [S., 1641] on 8 November 1917.1
