Andrew Herries, 2nd Lord Herries of Terregles was born circa 1477.2 He was the son of Herbert Herries, 1st Lord Herries of Terregles and Mariot Carlyle.2 He married, thirdly, Nichola Home, daughter of Alexander Home, 2nd Lord Home and Nichole Ker.3 He married, firstly, Beatrice Herries, daughter of George Herries of Terraughtie, in 1494.2 He and Beatrice Herries were divorced after 15 November 1495.2 He married, secondly, Lady Janet Douglas, daughter of Archibald Douglas, 5th Earl of Angus and Elizabeth Boyd, between 25 November 1495 and 22 December 1495.1 He died on 9 September 1513 at Flodden Field, Northumberland, EnglandG, killed in action.2
He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Herries of Terregles [S., 1490] circa 1505.1 In 1507 he was outlawed for homicide but pardoned in late 1508.2 He fought in the Battle of Flodden on 9 September 1513.2

John Maxwell, 8th Lord Maxwell was born before May 1583.1 He was the son of John Maxwell, 7th Lord Maxwell and Lady Elizabeth Douglas.2 He married Lady Margaret Hamilton, daughter of John Hamilton, 1st Marquess of Hamilton and Margaret Lyon, before 19 April 1600.1 He died on 21 May 1613 at Scotland, beheaded, without surviving issue.2
He succeeded as the 8th Lord Maxwell [S., 1445] on 7 December 1593.2 In 1608 he killed Sir James Johnstone in revenge for his father's murder, and was sentenced to death. He fled abroad until 1612.2 He murdered Sir James Johnstone of Johnstone on 6 April 1608.3,4

John Kennedy, 7th Earl of Cassillis was born in November 1653. He was the son of John Kennedy, 6th Earl of Cassillis and Lady Margaret Hay.2 He married by contract, firstly, Lady Susannah Hamilton, daughter of James Hamilton, 1st Duke of Hamilton and Lady Margaret Feilding, on 26 December 1668.1,2 He married, secondly, Mary Fox, daughter of John Fox and Mary Weld, on 27 February 1697/98.2 He died on 23 July 1701 at age 47.1
He succeeded as the 9th Lord Kennedy [S., 1458] on 22 September 1668.2 He succeeded as the 7th Earl of Cassillis [S., 1509] on 22 September 1668.1,2 In 1670 he was the only person in Parliament who voted against the Act for punishing coventicles, and for his illegal rotection of them, was outlawed.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1689 to King William II.2 He held the office of Lord of the Treasury [Scotland] between 1689 and 1695.2

Robert Carnegie, 3rd Earl of Southesk was the son of James Carnegie, 2nd Earl of Southesk and Lady Mary Ker.2 He married Lady Anne Hamilton, daughter of William Hamilton, 2nd Duke of Hamilton and Lady Elizabeth Maxwell, circa 1660.2 He and Lady Anne Hamilton were separated before 1671.2 He died on 19 February 1687/88.2
