The Strikers jump up a position to sit fourth on the table but they are just one point ahead of the Stars who have a game in hand. We are up for some more really interesting days ahead. For now, it's the pair of Rudransh and Mohul signing off. See ya!
Jake Weatherald, Player of the Match: Thanks to Lynny for faking a hammy so that I could get a game (laugh) but I am sure that he will be back soon. The Strikers have always been kind to me. I have waited for my turn and luckily, got mine today. Me and Dooley have played a lot since we are at Tassie now. This win shows that we have a strong side- a side that can push for finals. Pleased with this knock.
ADELAIDE STRIKERS WIN BY 8 WICKETS! The Hurricanes are out of this competition. The Strikers are still alive and kicking through a player who, in just slightly different circumstances, wouldn't have played this game!
Weatherland only played this game because Chris Lynn was injured. After today, you'd feel it'll be pretty hard to keep him out of the side anymore. That was one of the best knocks in the Strikers' history. It just also shows that the Strikers are too good a team to be just about fighting for a playoffs spot.
It also shows that this was actually a really good surface to bat on and Hurricanes, even after looking like they overperformed with the bat, just didn't have a good enough total on the board. Matt and Darcy short started in the typical fashion (you'd know it by heart by now as well) and when they crossed the magical 45-run mark it never looked like the Strikers would lose.
Two quick wickets from Chaudhary and Jordan (after an excellent bowling change) made things interesting. Or, we should say, threatened to make things interesting but Weatherland has some other plans. He was blazing his guns from the first ball and took on the bowlers to shift the momentum completely.
Adam Hose took his time on the other end but soon the Strikers were getting 20-run overs and the match didn't even reach the 17th over.

15.5 Patrick Dooley to Jake Weatherald, ANOTHER SIX! ADELAIDE STRIKERS WIN THIS GAME AND WEATHERALD IS THEIR HERO! Tossed up right in the slot on off and middle. Weatherald goes down on his knees and slog sweeps it over deep midwicket-cow country for a huge hit to win the game for the Strikers and end their nine-game losing streak away from home! The Hurricanes are now knocked out of the competition!
15.4 Patrick Dooley to Jake Weatherald, SIX! HUGEEEEEEE HIT! Right in the slot from Dooley this time. Weatherald needs no second invitation to heave it away over deep midwicket for a massive strike yet again!
15.3 Patrick Dooley to Adam Hose, floated at a length outside off, turns away. Hose pushes it towards deep cover. Single taken now.
15.2 Patrick Dooley to Jake Weatherald, back of a length on middle and leg, turns back in. Weatherald works it towards short fine leg for a run.
15.1 Patrick Dooley to Jake Weatherald, SIX! MASSIVE STRIKE! Tossed up at a length on off and middle, does not turn much. Weatherald goes down on his knees and then slog sweeps it away over deep midwicket for a massive hit!
Jordan was brought on to break the partnership again but he has failed to do it. Now it's all but sealed.

14.6 Chris Jordan to Jake Weatherald, very full and wide outside off. Weatherald manages to tap it towards cover for a single.
14.5 Chris Jordan to Jake Weatherald, FOUR! At a length on middle and leg. Weatherald manages to whip it away wide of the fielder at short fine leg for a boundary! That was well played!
14.4 Chris Jordan to Adam Hose, full and wide outside off, angles away. Hose punches it towards deep cover for a run.
14.3 Chris Jordan to Adam Hose, fullish and wide outside off, moves away. Hose punches it towards deep cover for a couple of runs.
14.3 Chris Jordan to Adam Hose, FIVE WIDES! Jordan sprays it down the legside and the keeper cannot quite get to it despite trying his best. This is all going down the drain for the Hurricanes here. They are conceding the game!
14.2 Chris Jordan to Adam Hose, at a length outside off, slower delivery. Hose punches it to mid off from the crease.
14.1 Chris Jordan to Adam Hose, fullish on off and middle, comes back in. Hose leans in and punches it wide of the bowler for a couple of runs.
Chris Jordan comes back
Ellis goes the opposite way to Chaudhary. His first two overs were superb but now he just let go of 19 runs just like that. Hose has joined the party as well and now it looks a bit too easy for the batting side.
