MUSKEGON — Things just haven’t gone well for the Reeths-Puffer football team this season.
MONTAGUE – The Wildcats defeated Shelby and lost to Western Michigan Christian during a volleyball tri-meet Oct. 23, and the Wildcats’ Jordan Netcott achieved her 1,000th dig during the meet.
GAYLORD – Montague’s boys soccer season has ended following a 6-0 loss to Kingsford and the Buckley brothers in the opening round of the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s regionals Oct. 22.
Both the Montague and Whitehall girls golf teams competed in the MHSAA girls golf state finals Oct. 18-19.
FREMONT — The Whitehall team is peaking at the right time after another blowout win, this time over Fremont, 47-6, Oct. 18.
MANISTEE — After a 65-32 loss to Manistee Oct. 18, the Montague football team now finds itself in unfamiliar territory — on the outside looking in for the MHSAA state playoffs.
FRUITPORT – Reeths-Puffer’s season has ended following a 4-1 loss in the Division 2 finals October 17 and even though the Rockets hung with state number one-ranked Fruitport for parts of the game, the Trojans’ experience was too much.
HOLLAND — The Whitehall boys tennis team finished tied for third place at the MHSAA Division 4, Regional 23 tournament Oct. 11 at Holland Christian.
MUSKEGON – Montague and Whitehall participated in the final West Michigan Conference cross country Jamboree Oct. 15 at Oakridge High School.
MUSKEGON — The Reeth-Puffer football team traveled down to Muskegon High to take on the Big Reds and lost in a tough one, 47-7, Oct. 11.
MONTAGUE — You see the final score of 70-64, and you’d think we were talking about a basketball game. But nope, this score happened on the gridiron.
The Whitehall football team clinched at least a share of the West Michigan Conference Lakes Division title for the third straight season Oct. 11 with a 47-10 win over Ludington.
MONTAGUE – Trevor Trevino broke a scoreless deadlock late in the second half to lead the Wildcats to their first ever district title in a thriller over Fremont in the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s Division 3 district final, 1-0, Oct. 16.
Reeths-Puffer, Whitehall and Montague came in first, second and third in the Greater Muskegon Athletic Assciation’s girls golf event Oct. 14 at the White Lake Golf Club.
SPRING LAKE – Montague, Whitehall and Reeths-Puffer participated in the GMAA High School Cross Country Championships Oct. 12 at Rycenga Park.
MONTAGUE – On their home field, Trevor Trevino had a big night Oct. 14 as he scored all three Wildcats goals en route to a 3-0 triumph over Orchard View of the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s Division 3 boys soccer district semifinals.
MONTAGUE — The Montague football team lost its third consecutive game Oct. 4 with a 36-8 loss to North Muskegon.

Coming back from a fractured hip injury he suffered a month ago, Mason Mulnix was the difference maker as he scored two goals in extra time as the Vikings won their MHSAA boys soccer Division 3 district opener from an opportunistic Oakridge team 5-3 Oct. 9.
WHITEHALL – The Vikings finished second in the team competition in the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s Division 3 regional girls golf tournament October 8 and will be in the state finals at Bedford Valley Golf Course in Battle Creek.
MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP – Despite being down several starters and without their starting quarterback, Reeths-Puffer put up a big fight but came up short against state No. 3 Byron Center, 42-28, Oct. 4.
MUSKEGON — The Whitehall football team picked up its third straight win with a 38-7 blowout over Oakridge Oct. 4 in Muskegon.
GRAND RAPIDS – For the Reeths-Puffer Rockets play against some of the tougher teams remaining on their schedule, they need to find a way to keep from being their own worst enemy.
WHITEHALL – On senior night, Whitehall celebrated Oct. 1 with a boys soccer win over Shelby 5-0 in a dominating performance.
LUDINGTON — The Whitehall boys tennis team finished tied for second place at the West Michigan Conference tournament Oct. 2 at the Schoenherr Tennis Center in Ludington.
WHITEHALL — Playing suffocating defense, and winning the battle in the trenches, the Whitehall football team thoroughly dominated Manistee in racking up a big 49-6 victory in last Friday night’s Homecoming game in the West Michigan Conference Lakes Division.
RAVENNA – When Whitehall traveled to Ravenna Oct. 2, neither team expected to play to a tie.
VICTORY TWP. – Montague and Whitehall participated in the West Michigan Conference Lakes Jamboree at West Shore Community College Oct. 1, and Whitehall finished second in the boys meet.
LUDINGTON — The Montague football team suffered its second straight loss at the hands of Ludington, 45-34, Sept. 27 in Ludington.
HAMLIN TWP. – Montague came in fourth and Whitehall fifth in the Ludington Invitational girls golf tournament at Lincoln Hills Golf Club Sept. 27.
ALLENDALE — Whitehall and Montague in the small school and Reeths-Puffer in the big school participated in the Allendale Falcon Invite Sept. 28.

MONTAGUE – Fruitport brought their state third-ranked team into Montague September 26 and outclassed the Wildcats in every aspect of the game as they won 5-0 in a non-conference game.
CALEDONIA — The Reeths-Puffer cross country team ran in the second OK Green Jamboree of the season Sept. 25 in Caledonia.
MUSKEGON — The Reeths-Puffer football team got a big win in front of the homecoming crowd, defeating Grand Rapids Union, 48-13, Sept. 20 in Muskegon.
MUSKEGON – The Whitehall Vikings defeated Oakridge, 2-1, in a boys soccer game Sept. 25.
WHITEHALL – The pink and neon green T-shirts were out.
MANISTEE — The Whitehall boys soccer team was able to get out of Manistee with a victory Sept. 18 in Manistee.
MUSKEGON — The Reeths-Puffer Rockets girls golf squad came in third place at the OK Green Varsity Jamboree at the Lincoln Golf Course Sept. 18 as Rowan Bluhm shot a 38.
FREMONT — Whitehall and Montague competed in the West Michigan Conference Lakes Division Jamboree cross country meet Sept. 17 at Branstrom Park.
The Whitehall boys tennis team tied with North Muskegon, 4-4, in a conference match on Sept. 16.
The Reeths-Puffer boys tennis team beat Whitehall, 5-3, in a dual match Sept. 13 in Whitehall.
EAST LANSING – The Montague Wildcats finished eighth in the East Lansing Invitational girls golf event Sept. 16 at the Forest Akers Golf Course as Cadence Fox was the top Wildcats player.
The Whitehall football team couldn't keep up with the Zeeland West offense on Sept. 13, falling in a high-scoring game, 60-43.
MUSKEGON — Bryce Muskovin’s 48-yard touchdown run iced Reeths-Puffer’s first win of the season, 26-14, over Spring Lake Sept. 13 in Muskegon.
MONTAGUE — The Montague football team took care of business against Orchard View, 55-14, Sept. 13 in Montague.
MONTAGUE — The Whitehall girls golf team won the Montague Jamboree Sept. 12 at Old Channel Trail Golf Course in Montague.
LUDINGTON — The Whitehall boys soccer team was defeated by Ludington on Sept. 9 at Oriole Field in Ludington.
MONTAGUE – On a night where first responders and military were honored, the Wildcats did their part as they defeated Muskegon Oakridge 14-7 in a hotly contested game September 6.
