In Canada, Raymond James Ltd. enjoys a strong and independent history - serving investors through our predecessor companies for over 80 years. The year 2001 marked an important milestone when the firm - then known as Goepel McDermid - combined its Canadian leadership with the powerful North American resources of Raymond James Financial, Inc., based in St. Petersburg, Florida. At that time, we proudly became Raymond James Ltd.
In September 2016, Raymond James Ltd. acquired 3Macs (MacDougall, MacDougall & MacTier Inc.), a respected independent investment firm founded before Confederation in 1849. With the addition of the 3Macs Division, Raymond James Ltd. is now Canada's largest independent investment dealer with more than CDN $52.5 billion in client assets under administration.
